Easter Egg Juggle

Greetings! All this week, the Stampendous Design Team has been playing along with the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge Blog. It has been a pleasure sharing projects that feature the sweetest little mice. Since Easter is right around the corner, I decided to share a project with Easter Egg Juggle. This card has a lot of layers, and it was fun to create! My full instructions are below.

Supplies:
Stampendous:
HMQ19: House Mouse Easter Egg Juggle
SSC1272: Brushed Wishes
EP514: Bright Pink Embossing Powder
DCP1005: Fitted Frames Set A

Other:
My Colors Cardstock: Coral Rose, Sky, Wildflower, Yellow Corn
Bo Bunny: Kiwi Vintage Double Dot #12KV913
Imagine: VersaFine Ink in Onyx Black, VersaMark Ink
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers: 028, 041, 047, 048, 049, 064, 069, 071, 093, 094, 202, 302, 803, 901
Pale Gray Cardstock
Scrapbook Adhesives: Tape Runner, Foam Squares

Directions:
1. Stamp the House Mouse image on to Cason Mixed Media Paper with VersaFine Ink in Onyx Black.

2. Color the image using the Zig Clean Color Markers listed.

3. Die cut the image out with the Large Q Fitted Frame.

4. Die cut Coral Rose, Sky, Wildflower, and Yellow Corn, also with the Large Q.

5. Create the card base out of pale gray cardstock, cut to 5 1/2" x 8."

6. Cut a mat from Kiwi Vintage Double Dot, cut to 5 1/4" x 3 3/4"  and attach to the card base.

7. Glue the cardstock die cuts together, rotating each color slightly. You may want to add some foam squares to the highest layers, as they will be so far off of the card.

8. Add the stamped layer to the top of the die cut stack.

9. Glue the die cut stack to the card base, being careful to keep the stamped image straight.

10. Stamp the sentiment to the mat with VersaMark Ink.

11. Heat emboss the sentiment with Bright Pink Embossing Powder.

Please be sure to visit the rest of the Stampendous Team over on the Blog, as well as the House Mouse and Friends Challenge Blog. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off ...

Two Huge Valentine’s Day Hops!

I am in not one, but two Valentine’s Day hops! Not bad for someone that doesn’t even like Valentine’s Day… The first is via Smeared & Smudged . It’s time for our monthly Member Blog Hop! The second was started by Taylor Usry . Please bear with me…this post is long because I am sharing 2 projects and the hop lists are huge. Let’s stat with Smeared & Smudged, shall we? My dear friend Alex and I collaborated on the theme for this month’s S&S Member Hop. Instead of making it a free-for –all, we decided to challenge our members a little…create something Valentine’s Day / love themed, but there is a catch.  Because we are Smeared and Smudged you can not use any of the following: No hearts No red or pink Nothing ‘cute’ unless you make it uncute of course :) Ok, so it’s not dark and scary…but it’s definitely not cute either. I used my colored pencils for the focal image.  It’s from Smeared Ink’s Smitten collection. The “pretty fly” is from the teir teen...
