Succulent Shaker Card

Hello! Thanks for visiting me today. I've got a new shaker card to share that is soft, pretty, and great for different occasions. I chose to make it a "thank you" card, but it would work great for lots of other things.
If you've been stopping by lately, you'll know that I really love Kaisercraft's "Greenhouse" collection. I've been using it quite a bit lately, because it's just beautiful. I started off by choosing a few of the Cardstock Die Cuts and arranged them on a blank background. I then decided that I wanted to use an oval stitched die from Lawn Fawn's Magic Color Slider Die set (I use the 3 frames in that set all the time) for my shaker window. Then I chose my coordinating patterned papers.
After choosing the papers, I went through my stash of Sparkle Blends to see what I thought would work best. I actually thought I was going to use the newer Springtime Blend, but instead, I felt that Icicle was the right way to go. It has lovel…

Hello! This week, the Stampendous team is sharing "Jungle Jive" projects. There are a lot of stamps that shout the jungle theme, and my card today uses the Wild Texture 6"x 6" stamp. Live Life in Full Bloom

Hello! I have a new DT project for White Rose Crafts, featuring Kaisercraft. I just received the Kaleidoscope paper pad, and was immediately inspired by the beautiful colors and faux textures on the pages.
I picked this one out of the lineup because of how springy it is. I love this color palette. And because the background is already beautiful, I really didn't have to do much to get a completed card.
For my sentiment, I stamped an image from Kaisercraft's Greenhouse Collection of Clear Stamps on another piece from the Kaleidoscope paper pad with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink.  Behind the sentiment, I added a piece of Mulberry Lace Paper, just for some added soft texture.
I also added a few sequins from the "Springtime" Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. That Blend has the perfect colors to go along with this collection. On my card base, I rubbed on some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide and then dripped some Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Gold to get some of the oxidat…

St. Thomas Layout

Hello! I've got a new scrapbook page to share with you for my latest Design Team project for White Rose Crafts. Each month, we feature a specific company for about a week, and this time, it's Kaisercraft. I have loved Kaisercraft for a very long time. In fact, back when I owned my scrapbooking store, they was a company I ordered from frequently. This layout today uses a bunch of their newest products.
This photo is of my husband, about 3 years ago when we went on a cruise. This photo was taken in St. Thomas. I love the colors and textures in the photo, and I knew I wanted to create more layers, textures and add in similar colors to my layout.
I first used Kaisercraft's Greenhouse paper pad as a jumping off point. That gave me some ideas on what to do with colors and other elements. I have the Greenhouse Clear Stamp Set and I used the terrarium image with Rose Gold embossing powder to create a geometric design in the lower right corner. I love how it turned out.
I knew I n…

Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to my blog. If you're new, my name is Alison. If you're not, thanks for coming back! Today I am sharing a card that I created for the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop. This is such a fun hop with a ton of participants and sponsors, so I am excited to be joining in. My card features stamps from Ink Road.
I just had to use the Inked Girl "Alison." Yup, she was named after me. Lara (the owner of Ink Road) has the coolest naming contests all the time. It is so cool to have a product named after you! I colored her up with Zig Clean Color Markers.
My background was done with one of the stamps from my favorite Ink Road set, called Mug Life. I stamped all of the coffee cups with Iced Spruce Distress Oxide. Then, I applied some of the same ink to my palette, and used a brush and water to add shading to the cups. I love this tonal effect.
I stamped a sentiment from the same Mug Life stamp set with VersaMark ink on to a piece of gray cardstock that I die cut with an …

Wild Shaker

Greetings! Today, I've got a new shaker card to share with you. I was inspired by some of the Windowrama stamps and dies from Stampendous. Specifically, the Elephant stamp with the Giraffe dies. Those items helped me choose my Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground, which is Good Luck Charm.
I started off by coloring the elephant with Memento Markers and die cutting him. For the top layer of my shaker, I used Memementos as well, but I also added the 6 x 6 Crackle Stamp with the Fresh Greens Kaleidacolor inks for some additional texture.
Behind the shaker window, I used a piece of glossy cardstock that I applied alcohol ink from Ranger to some time ago. Since the alcohol ink was ponced on to the cardstock, it gives the illusion of a rain forest canopy. The Good Luck Charm Sparkle Blend has some really wonderful shades of green, gold, and silver that made the background pop.
My card base is white, and I applied some brown textured cardstock on top, and rubbed Golden Glitz Delic…

May WRC Sketch Challenge

Hello! Thanks for visiting me today. I've got a new Sketch Challenge to share with you, courtesy of White Rose Crafts. I've given myself a goal of turning each of these sketches into scrapbook pages, instead of cards for the entire year, and I've been successful so far. Here's the sketch:
And here is my take on it:
I came across these photos of my daughter the last time I was searching for pictures to scrapbook. I thought that they'd be perfect for this sketch. She was so happy spinning and twirling in this coat my mom had made for her. And her crazy outfit makes me smile. I lined the photos up and trimmed them to fit properly on my 12 x 12 layout. I added the strips of black to break up the photos just a little bit.
My daughter and I both love mixing patterns, so, much like her outfit, I found a few patterned papers that I thought were crazy together, but also perfect. The chevron and pink lacey-looking paper is from my stash, the polka dotted one is from Kaisercr…

Poolside Party

Hello and Happy May! I'm kicking off the month with a new shaker card that uses an older (but still available) Sparkle Blend. I had these images from the Floaties stamp set from Stampendous colored and cut, they just needed to be put on a card. My daughter and I decided to make the card together, and she chose to use Ocean View. It was the perfect Sparkle Blend to represent water in a pool.
As we started to make the card, we thought it would be fun to complete it while we did a Facebook Live. So if you'd like to see the process, please click HERE.
Those Floaties crack me up! We chose a piece of patterned paper from Echo Park's Coffee paper pad. We thought it was perfect for our "pool." Our circular window was cut with a die from Elizabeth Crafts Designs. The Ocean View Sparkle Blend has some wonderful shades of blue in it. And if you look really close to the Blend, you'll see tiny dolphins floating around in there. Our sentiments are from the Floaties stamp s…

Kitchen Renovation Shaker

Hello! Today I have a new shaker card to share, but this one is very special. My husband and I are redoing our kitchen. It's a major job that we are doing ourselves, but we are so excited about it. We ordered cabinets through a home improvement store, and when you do that, you need to actually sit down with a "Kitchen Designer" to get everything ordered correctly. We knew what we were getting, so it was really just a matter of the woman helping us plugging in the dimensions and item numbers. But she was wonderful to work with, and was really helpful with some of the questions I had. I decided to make her a thank you card. But not just any card. And not just any shaker card, either. I decided to create a kitchen that looked pretty close to what ours will look like. Take a look.
My staring point was the new Springtime Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. The colors were pretty close to what I'll be using in my kitchen. And of course, I was very inspired by the
