February Hump Day Hop: Some Like it HOT!

Greetings! It's the last Wednesday of the month, so it's time for the Bombshell Stamp Hump Day Hop! This month, I decided that the theme would be "Some Like it HOT!" I cannot wait to see how the other participants interpreted this theme. I chose to make an art journal page. I started off with my Pirate's Life Bombshell, and I added a few of the images from the Holiday Accessory set. I thought that my cauldron needed some smoke, so I used the flame from the Hula Girl set. I colored my images with my Spectrum Noirs and Copics. I cut everything out, and then started to play with my background. I used a combination of inks, paints, and stencils.  I also decided to add "Drink Up" from the Man's Ruin set. I loved doing the background. Though I do think it may need a few more layers....I need to work on that a bit. Pushing those layers further. But, I still think my Bombshell is hot! And, who doesn't enjoy a hot beverage? And now, it

Red and Pink with Dilly Beans

Hello Dilly Beaners ! Today, I have a new challenge to share with you. Red and Pink! I have a new art journal page to share with you to go with this color combo. I worked with one of Megan's creep-tastic zombie girls. She is colored entirely with Spectrum Noirs and Copics. I love her green skin. The background has a bunch of layers of inks, stamps, and a cut out sentiment from Dilly Beans. She looks how I sometimes feel in the morning! Or after a long day. Or, right now, actually! I hope you will join us for this challenge. You could win some Dilly Beans digis for yourself! Please visit the Challenge Blog for the rules and to see what the rest of the fabulous DT has created. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Bombshell February pin-Up Challenge: Red and Gold

Greetings Bombshell Fans! Today I am bringing you a project that I made to coincide with the February Pin Up, Christine Hill Garner . Her challenge was to create a project using Red & Gold. Here's what I made. I used a lot of stamp sets for this clean and simple card, believe it or not. I started of course, with Bombshell Angel . But I wanted to change her outfit, so I printed out a couple of outfits from the Fun 'N Flirty Bombshell   set. I decided I wanted to glitter up the skirt, and add a pattern to her shirt, so I used the zebra print from the Bombshell Patterns set. Last, but certainly not least, I used a sentiment from the Mermaid Treasure set. With 20/20 hindsight, I should have given her skirt a base color. I of course thought of this after I squished all of that yummy glitter on. Oh well. Next time. As a side note, my kids loved watching my put her clothes together, especially when I showed them how I was putting the pattern on the shirt. I love that m

A Little Bit 'o Love

Hello Friends! I have a new Bombshell Stamps Muse Monday project to share with you, and an art journal page. As you may recall, this month at Bombshell, I decided to highlight the All My Heart set. It just so happens that the latest Wicked Wednesday challenge is Celebrate the Season, and I thought I could make an ATC for the challenge with this set. I've only got one picture, as my camera decided it didn't feel like focusing. I've used 3 images from this set, plus a blank banner from Banner Sayings . I thought it would be interesting to stamp text on text, so I gave it a shot. I think the fact that I had the text facing 2 different directions made it work.  I may just be startin' to get the hang of making these ATC's! I also wanted to play along with Just Some Lines this week. The theme is "Love." But I didn't want to do a typical love project dealing with 2 people.....I wanted to art journal about my love of books. I think this image is

Poe Journal Page

Greetings! Today I have an art journal page to share with you. I was inspired by Rick St. Dennis ' image of Edgar Allan Poe . Further inspired by the latest Haunted Design House challenge of "The Poetry and Prose of Poe, Romantic or Lunatic?" Nevermore is a favorite of mine, of course, so I chose to work with that. Rick's image was the starting point of the piece, and I colored him with my alcohol markers and a couple watercolor markers. Then I printed out the first and last stanza of the poem, inked the hell out of them, and started to play with the Quoth the Raven set from Smeared Ink . How could I make this page without that set? Isn't the likeness to Poe incredible? Rick did an amazing job with this image. I know I will be using it quite a bit. I so enjoyed layering all of the background images. And I must say, that London Fog Memento ink is a new favorite of mine. I used that ink for the mesh stamp. I can say I am really falling in love with art

February Bombshell Stamps Sketch Challenge

Greetings bloggy friends! Today, I am sharing a card I made for the February Bombshell Stamps Sketch Challenge. I decided to work with Mermaid Anchor , which is a set that I have not used before. But, I know I will use again soon, as it was fun to color! But really, ALL the Bombshell Stamps are fun to color! I colored the images entirely with alcohol markers. Something that I don't typically do. My alcohol markers are still limited in it's palette, but I happened to have the right colors this time. I am looking forward to coloring her fin in a wide array of colors. I liked mixing the green with the assorted shades of blue. You really must visit the Bombshell Blog . I took a peek at what the rest of the Design Team created for this sketch, and wow! What a fantastic assortment of styles and images. This sketch was great to work with, and I hope that you join us. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Movie Magic Monthly #1: Alice in Wonderland

Welcome, welcome! Today I am sharing the very first challenge for the brand new challenge blog, Movie Magic Monthly. Every month on the 10th, we will have a new movie that we want YOU to create a project for. Make anything you want! A card, a scrapbook page, jewelry, altered art, journal pages, anything, as long as it has something to do with that month's movie. You will have an entire month to play along with us, so you've got plenty of time! What's our first Movie Magic Monthly Challenge??? Alice in Wonderland! I created an art journal page. My Alice is from Dilly Beans , and those fabulous mushrooms are from Strange Skin . I colored both images with watercolor markers and alcohol markers. I popped Alice up with foam dots. I thought these two images went so well together, don't you? I used watercolor paints for my background. I also sprayed the soil with a Tsukineko spray. I like how it came out. My husband found me the perfect quote. Daisy: "What k

Hearts with Dilly Beans

Happy Friday! Today, I have a new challenge with Dilly Beans to share. This week, our challenge is "Hearts." This is super simple, as so many fabulous Dilly Beans images come with hearts. Here's what I made. I had a lot of fun coloring this cutie. Though truth be told, I always enjoy coloring any Dilly Bean image in front of me. I used watercolor markers and alcohol markers. And I just used some random scraps from my rather large stash. I hope you'll play along! You have the chance of winning some Dilly Beans images, as always. Please be sure to visit the Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the DT has come up with. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Sugar Skull Painting

Hello! I am SO excited to share this project with you. I have been wanting to share it for a while, just haven't had the time. Back in December (I told you it was a while!), my son's former teacher commissioned me to do a painting of a sugar skull for her daughter. I had given said teach a card with a Bombshell Stamps sugar skull on it, and her daughter absconded with it and proceeded to hang it in her dorm room. So, she thought a painting would be a great gift for her. I was overjoyed. I had not painted anything in so long, and I missed it so much. Here's the completed painting, then I will show you the steps I took to get there. What do you think? It was requested that I use teal and orange, as those are the color's of the girl's dorm room. I painted on canvas board, and the size is 8 1/2 x 11. I used acrylics. I did some research on sugar skulls, looking to see what types of designs I liked best. How many flowers? Do I want a spider web? And it goes on.

Ree Ree by Rick St. Dennis

Greetings! Today I am sharing a card using a Rick St. Dennis image. It's from the Randi Dandi collection, and her name is Ree Ree . Not to be confused with my little girl...who I often call Rhi Rhi. ;) Coincidentally, my Rhi really likes this image, and wanted to help me choose the colors that I worked with. She chose one of my favorite color combinations! I used watercolor markers and alcohol markers to color her in. Like her hair? She matches me....if my hair were still long, of course. My sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. I kept the card simple. I wanted the focus to be on Ree Ree. I hope you've liked my latest card! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

February Muse Monday: All My Heart

Hello! It's the first Monday of the month, which means I get to share the latest Bombshell Stamps Muse Monday with you. What's Muse Monday? Each month, I choose a different set for the Design Team to highlight, and every Monday, different members of the team strut their stuff with that set. By the end of the month, you will  have seen a bunch of fabulous projects, all using that one set. So much inspiration! This month, I chose All My Heart. You can find it HERE in the Bombshell Shop. Here's what I made. It's an ATC to go along with the latest Wicked Wednesday challenge. I typically have a rough time with ATC's, which is why I don't make them very often. And while I did struggle with this one a bit, I do like how it turned out! The Wicked Wednesday challenge is Gothic Love, and I think this heart from the All My Heart set works quite nicely with the challenge. I colored the heart with a combination of watercolor markers and alcohol markers. My backg

Dilly Beans, RSD, and DICC, Oh My!

Ready for a lot of projects??? I have THREE to share with you today! It's the 1st, so I have a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge . It's Friday, so there's a new Dilly Beans Challenge , and then I have a new Rick St. Dennis project to coincide with T eam Glitter's new Challenge! Here's my DICC project. I used #'s 1, 2, 6, and 10. To see the itinerary, you will need to go to the blog! I made an art journal page. I like it, but it doesn't feel quite finished yet. I think it may need some more layers. I created my background with some heart stencils and my new Crayola air brush. This is Amalia and Crinkles. Dilly Beans is sponsoring us this week, so you have the chance at winning some fabulous digis if you play along! The Dilly Beans Challenge this week is Love Gives Me Wings. I colored in this image using watercolors. I had some Basic Grey scraps that I thought went really well with my paint job. This little angel is just so sweet, isn't
