Laurel Burch Shaker

Hello! Last week, the Stampendous Team was sharing projects featuring Laurel Burch stamps. I decided to continue with that theme with this shaker card that I made for Doodles Paper Playground. This card uses the bright and bold " Conversation Hearts " Sparkle Blend. I love the rainbow of colors in it, with the mix of shapes and sizes. Just look at the large purple heart in the upper left corner, and the blue Fimo heart over towards the right. I stamped and heat embossed my " Floral Reflections " stamp with Detail Gold embossing powder on to watercolor paper and I colored it in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. Then I fussy cut the image out. I created my top layer of the shaker out of black cardstock, and I backed it with Bo Bunny paper from the Bella Rosa Collection . I also added a simple sentiment from the Tiny Words set from Simon Says Stamp. Overall, this was a pretty fast card to put together, yet is still has an impact because of not only the...

Snowflake Shaker Card

Greetings! Today I have a shaker card that features the beautiful Frozen Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. Frozen is a beautiful wintry mix of blues and whites, with some very pretty snowflakes, glitter sequins, and gems. For the top layer of my card, I used some Distress Oxide Inks to get an icy cool look. I used Peacock Feathers , Salty Ocean , and Faded Jeans . I applied the inks to my craft mat, spritzed the inks with water, and then dragged my cardstock through it. I sped up the drying time with my heat tool, and reinked the cardstock. After I was satisfied with my results, I decided where I wanted my snowflake shakers (stamps and dies from Stampendous ) to be. Then, I die cut the 2 snowflakes in my Distress Oxide layer. Next, I took a piece of pale blue cardstock and placed it under the die cut layer (just sitting...not attached to anything). I placed these 2 pieces of cardstock into my Stamp Platform and held them down with magnets. Then, I fit the snowflake s...

Fleur de Lis Hello

Hello! This week, the Stampendous team is sharing projects featuring some of the new Parisian themed stamps and dies. Before I get to my card, I wanted to let you know that I am participating in the very first Doodles Paper Playground Blog Hop , and i would love it if you could check out my other post HERE . I promise, it's worth it! On to Stampendous... For my project, I decided to work with the Fleur de Lis die that is in the Paris Bonjour die set. There is no accompanying stamp for it, so I decided to use alcohol inks to create interesting patterns for my die cuts. Also, I really wanted to use the new "hello" stamp, and have it look as though it had been die cut. I simply traced the full stamp on to my piece of vellum and fussy cut it out. Now it looks like it has been die cut! My full instructions are below. Have Faith

Hello! Today I am hopping along with Andy Skinner's amazing Design Team to share projects made with his insanely cool stamps. The latest release, found in the January Stampendous catalog, really inspired me. I especially love the Textures stamp set, which is the main set I used on my card below. I started out with the "Smoosh Technique" (yup, that's a technical term) to apply a few colors of Distress Oxide inks to my background paper. I used watercolor paper by Recollections. I applied Fossilized Amber, Wilted Violet, and Worn Lipstick to my craft mat. I sprayed the colors with water, and dipped my paper into it. Once I was satisfied with the results, I heat set the colors with my embossing gun. Then, I started to use the stamps from the Textures set by inking them with Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers, and Frayed Burlap. I needed a focal point, so I added the "Have Faith" from Andy's Unexplained stamp set. I stamped it with VersaMark Ink (after ...

Hello! This week, the Stampendous team will be sharing projects that feature the Spring Border Die collection. I need to apologize right away, as for some reason, I only have 1 photo of today's card. Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #17

Hello! Today, I am sharing a card for the latest Lawn Fawnatics Challenge , which happens to be a color challenge. I love color challenges, and it's been a while since I have participated in one. I used the Christmas Dreams set, which I just got through a Black Friday sale. I stamped the images I wanted to use on Canson Mixed Media Paper with VersaFine Ink and colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I fussy cut all of the pieces out, and used Nuvo Drops in Sea Breeze on the ornaments (they were colored with the Persian Blue Zig first) for dimension and shine. I used some Doodlebug wood grain paper and a Sizzix die to create my "room" for the elements. The background cardstock is from Bo Bunny. I am really pleased with this card, and I love the versatility of the Christmas Dreams stamp set because of all the different elements. I think I need to make a kitty card next. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Pirate Cove: Day 16 of 31

Ahoy! Today is Day 16 of the 31 Days of Halloween, and my latest project features the Stampendous image called Pirate Cove . Aye Mateys, you'll be lovin' this one! I colored this guy with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and my water brush. I fussy cut it and adhered it to a Fitted Frame die cut. I had some stiff pre-printed burlap that I attached to a card base, and then I tore some Bo Bunny red vintage paper and used some brads to secure it to the burlap. So it's not exactly Halloween, but I think it works for the 31 Days since he's a skeleton, he's creepy, and I really enjoy dressing up as a pirate. ;) I'm keeping this post kinda short today, but if you have any questions about this card, please feel free to ask. Below is the full list of Wicked Bloggers. Please stop by and give them some love. Thanks for hanging out with me today. Have a creeptastic day!
