Bombshell Blog Hop: Boy Toy

This is the second blog hop I’m in today! Phew! If you’re looking for the Artful INKables hop, please click HERE . But, take a peek at what’s happening in this post first! ;} Tomorrow is the first day of July. Which means that as of tomorrow, I am officially Ms. Bombshell!!! I am so stoked to kick off my month long term with this fabulous blog hop!!! Here’s what Kas challenged us to do: Time for being hot...it's summer! So what's the deal with a "Boy Toy" bloghop. Well, it's dedicated to the men in our lives. Doesn't have to be a boyfriend or husband..... maybe a soldier, a father, or just a masculine theme or card. Bombshell stamps have always been great for "manly" things, but now more than ever. Just think about the new digi clothes stamps for the Bombshell Angel. The policeman, fireman, etc... they are GREAT for sending out that perfect card. AND MAN...the new motorcycle stamps !!! Perhaps your project will just use masculine colors...maybe a gre

Artful INKables Blog Hop

By the time you read this, I will have already seen Eclipse!!! I can’t believe it’s out! I’ll be sure to give you the play by play of my Triple Feature experience after I recover from the throngs of teenagers! So I am in TWO Blog Hops today! This post is obviously for Artful INKables , and the second is for Bombshell Stamps. Please take a look at both of my posts for today! Thanks! ;} So let’s talk Twilight. I made a card using 3 of my fabulous AI stamps. I really, really love these stamps! And I hope it shows in my card! I started off with the harlequin stamp on some spotted yellow paper, and I cut that out. I wanted to use my swirl stamp, so I stamped it a few times, end to end, and cropped it real tight. You actually don’t see the full swirl because I trimmed so much of it off. But I like how it takes up the whole strip on either side. And I stamped my sentiment and laid it on top. After I had all of my pieces, I distressed the hell out of it! Lots of colors, lots of layers, lots

Fire Goddess

So, it’s the beginning of Summer, so what better way to worship the sun then with a Fire Goddess??? She’s one of the latest stamps I have acquired from fabulous Smeared Ink !!! I think she’s spicy, sultry and fabulous! And I have a few ways that I want to color her! This is only the first! I used colored pencils and Twinkle H20’s. Ready to see some shimmer??? Put on your shades! How fabulous is that greenish glow from the Twinkles??? Love that stuff! And it’s perfect with this set of Goddesses… Wait until you see the others! Can’t wait??? Go check them out at the Smeared Ink Shop! This paper is pre-cut from K& Co. Makes my life a ton easier! Isn’t it pretty? Doesn’t it give you the idea of flames? Ooh! I can feel the heat! I have a quick announcement…I am in two, yes TWO blog hops tomorrow! And they are both fabulous! One is the Bombshell Stamps Blog Hop, and the second is the Artful INKables Twilight blog hop. Awesome, I know!!! So, be sure to stop by and take a

FHF Eclipse Pop Culture Challenge & Artful INKables Challenge #4

Can you believe it??? It’s almost time! Time for the release of Eclipse!!! I can hardly wait!!! As I have mentioned before, I am seeing a triple feature starting at 6:30 on Tuesday night! It’s gonna be great!!! Today Erica issued us the latest Pop Culture Challenge for Friends Having Fun . And it’s all about Eclipse!!! Make something Twi-Inspired! Easy-peasy! Plus, I of course had to partake in the 4th and final challenge for Artful INKables too! Their challenge was to create anything but a card. Cool! So…I made a bookmark. I am really into making these lately! And check this out…I didn’t use ANY paper!!! It’s tough to see all the detail in this pic…feel free to click on it to see it bigger! I used 2 Artful INKables stamps for this bookmark. And a whole lotta ink! Here’s a close up. I used just a heavy weight chipboard for the bookmark, and smudged some Fired Brick Distress Ink on top to make it sorta look like wood. Then I stamped the swirls in Color Box’s Chestnut Roan. Last, I st

Smeared Ink New Release Blog Hop

I am so excited to share my latest card with you! It’s from one of three fabulous new rubber stamp sets from Smeared Ink . Would you like a peek at all three sets? Of course you would! This first set is The Symbology of Angels. Isn’t it fabulous??? The second set is called Teen Style Backgrounds. Check out the kicks! Gotta love that stamp! And this third set is Teen Style Sayings. Some of these phrases are so cool! I love “Epic Fail” and “Rad” the best! Please click on any of the images to see them bigger. So the Design Team was given the fabulous “Praise Angel” to use. I love this image. I can see myself using him quite often, in a lot of different ways. This first time, I went pretty spiritual… This was one of those cards that I had a vision for…and was actually able to execute it perfectly. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find the right cream colored paper, but the Black and Creme collection from DCWV was just what I needed! This fabulous angel was colored in with colo

SISC #15 Inspiration Photo for a Birthday Card

Hello out there! It’s time for another StampInsanity Challenge with the Groovy Gurlz! I’ve got an inspiration pic to share with you. The mission is to chose one of the color combos on these fabulous cakes and make a birthday card! I love the colors on the cake on the right, so that’s what I used. So let me be straight with you. This card doesn’t look finished to me. I think I need to add some Stickles to the circles (in silver). It just needs a bit ‘o glam. But, it’s late and I am exhausted… so I will have to play around with it at a later time. I do however, love how Beach Maddie came out! She’s rockin’ a bit of a tan. And her hair has been kissed by the sun. Not your tyical birthday card, I know…but we like to groove a little differently here right? Plus, when I thought of this senti, I knew I had a winner! “Hope your Birthday is Beachy-Keen!” Cute right? Thanks! So other then the lack of glitz, I thing the card is super cute. And it’s just a teeny taste of what’

Father’s Day Cards

I made a sweet Father’s Day card for my husband, and I wanted to you. I got both of the images I used from Bombshell Stamps. It actually comes in a set of three for…get this…FREE!!! Yup! Totally free. What a fabulous gift for the fans of Bombshell Stamps , huh? Here’s my card: Originally, I had printed the images pretty small (you’ll see the banners down below). I was going to just use them as accents. But then, upon closer inspection of the star, I realized that I would be a fool to not use it as the focal point of the card! I colored this in with my EK Success Watercolor and their metallic markers, plus a couple of Distress Inks with Cut-N-Dry nibs. You all know that I loves me some rubbah, but one thing that I just lurve about digis is how adaptable they are! Like I said, the first set was printed eensy-weensy…but this star is now almost 4 inches wide! Can’t do that with the red stuff! The flames you see in the background are from Heidi Swapp. I simply stamped and embossed them i

Artful INKables Twilight Challenge #3: Whose Team are You On?

Week #3! Now, before me Edward fans get their panties all up in a bunch, let me just clarify something. I am totally Team Edward, but I feel the love for Jacob. He’s a great guy/wolf. So, as I figured there would probably be a lot more sparkly vampire type cards posted this week, I decided to give the hot blooded shaggies some love. When I had first gotten these rad stamps from Artful INKables last year (has it been a year already???), I had made a card with a similar flavor to this one. I liked it so much, that I decided to revisit the idea and put a new spin on it. I think it’s pretty cool. And I think it will make those Wolf Girls out there pretty happy! I used 2 AI stamps for this baby and a whole mess of ink, as usual. Some torn paper and a bit of shimmery fiber. C’mon! You should all know by now that there are other things that sparkle besides vampires! Wolves have very shiny coats! ;} One more Twilight inspired challenge and then it’s time for the big Blog Hop! Y

Mom’s Pirate Birthday Card

My mom loves all things pirate. Always has. She loves swashbuckling flicks, the garb, the speech, and of course, those handsome pirates (of course Mr. Depp and Mr. Bloom are her faves!!!). So when I got this Sweet Pea Stamps image (named ( Unregrettable Pirate Life …which is on sale right now!), I just knew I had to use it for her Birthday card. I must give a huge “Thank you!” to my bitchin’ friend Danielle , because she gave me this lovely stamp. You may recognize it… I used it in my Burtonesque Dolls/S&S Watercolor Challenge last week. Click HERE to see that post. You’ll see that I have colored this version of my pirate quite differently this time around. She’s a bit faded here… I have a picture with truer coloring down below. But, you can see the awesome shimmer on my copper faux taffeta paper! Here’s a close up of the pirate. I colored her only with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. Yup. That’s it! 4 colors! I used Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Weathered Wood, and Tattered Rose. I ap

June Bombshell Sketch Challenge

Hello! I wanted to play along with the Bombshell Stamps sketch challenge again. My friend and fellow Smeared and Smudged DT Member Kathi is the mind behind these great sketches every month. Take a peek at what she drew up this time around. Simple, yet cool, right? Here’s the card I made. For some reason the picture looks a little too green… I am having a hard time taking pics with my Ott Light lately. Any suggestions??? Anyway, I colored this fab Bombshell in with a little bit of Twinkle H20’s and some colored pencils. Here’s a close up. I didn’t like all of the negative space, so I filled it in with my swirly stencils from The Crafter’s Workshop, which I have been using quite a bit lately. My sentiment is from Smeared Ink. But it’s only a partial sentiment. I left off the “Punk?”. I thought that the first part was perfect for this card. We are getting closer to July! Which means it’s almost time for me to be Ms. Bombshell!!! Woo Hoo! But don’t wait until next month to play along
