Baby It's Cold Outside! January Bombshell Hump Day Hop

Hello hello! It's the last Wednesday of the month, soooooooo....you know what that means! It's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! I don't know about you, but I am cold! So I decided to make this month's hop, "Baby It's Cold Outside!" I wanted the participants to make a Winter themed project, use the theme name as a sentiment, dress up their Bombshells in warm clothes (or not!), etc. Here's my creation. I used Bombshell Angel and dressed her in one of the Business Bombshell digi outfits. I also used a snowflake from the Holiday Accessory set, and a banner from Banner Sayings .  Here's a close up. I used my new blue Spectrum Noir set to color her in, along with the Pale Hues set. And a couple of Copics for her hair. So are you ready to keep hopping??? The entire hop list is below. Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day! Bombshell Blog:  http://bombshellstamps.blogspot.com/ Alison:  http://alisonsrandomthoug

A Touch of Red

Hello! I have a card to share with you today for the latest A Day For Daisies Challenge. I love, love, love this company's images, and I do not get to play along with their challenges nearly enough. But when I saw that the challenge was "A Touch of Red," I just had to. I love using red on my projects. This sweet image was a freebie, and I think she's adorable. I tried working out of my comfort zone a bit. I made her a blonde...which is something I hardly ever do. And I used a lot of white. I kept the palette so limited. Totally a stretch for me, but I like it! I was inspired by my darling friend Jenn Borjeson to do all the white. Her card for this challenge is adorable. I really, really wanted to add some blue to the background...but I decided it would lose something if I did. I am sorry about that ugly foam dot holding my bow on to the card. I really should have removed it (it came with it attached) and used a clear dot. It's totally making me crazy

Metal Accents with Dilly Beans

Happy Friday! I have a new challenge from Dilly Beans to share with you. This week, our challenge is Metal Accents. And, for a metalsmith like myself...this baby should have been covered in metal. But, I really wanted to use this image, so I went with a more subtle approach. Nope. Not a whole lot of metal going on here. But what I did use is really pretty and reflective. I just wanted to use this sweet image of friends as a jumping off point....and embossed tin foil would not have really done the trick here, ya know? So there you have it. I have been coloring quite a number of images lately, so I will be posting a bunch of new projects shortly. I hope you will stop by and check them out! Please be sure to visit the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the DT has come up with. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Out of This World!

Greetings! I am pleased to announce that Rick St. Dennis is sponsoring this week's Cute Card Thursday . And, I have a brand new image from Rick to share. Say hello to Euro Boy Cosmo . I love his space suit...and his rocket behind him. I colored Cosmo with watercolor markers and alcohol markers. I especially like the way his helmet came out. I wanted it to have a glassy tint to it, but without coloring it completely blue. Needless to say, my son Phoenix really likes Cosmo as well! I am pretty sure he will be coloring his own version pretty soon. I created my sentiment myself using a Just Rite alpha stamper. It's tough to see, but I added some teeny dots of Tiara Glitz Stickles to make the card sparkle with wee stars. So, how would you like to win some images from Rick St. Dennis ? Play along with Cute Card Thursday, and you just may! Check out all of the details HERE . Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Heartbreaker: January Pin-Up Challenge

Geetings! I'm a week late, but my fantastic friend Jenn posted her challenge as January's honorary Pin-Up for Bombshell Stamps . Her challenge was "Heartbreaker." I decided to break out a set that I really haven't had a chance to use much. I used 'Till Death . I wish you could see the colors a little better. They are a bit washed out. The shading is much prettier in person. I used watercolor markers and alcohol markers to color the image in. And what a cool image it is! Thanks Jenn for the fun challenge, and congrats on your stint as a Pin-up!!! Thanks to all of you for stopping by! Have an inspiring day.

The Love of a Child: Art Journal Page

Greetings! I am so excited....I've made my first Art Journal page of 2013! It's been ages since I've made an art journal page. I really need to make more, as it I really love doing it. The page I am sharing with you today features R ick St. Dennis' Euro Boy with Hearts. I had originally intended to put this boy on a card. But then I got inspired by Megan (from Dilly Beans ), as she made an art journal page that I loved. I colored him while hanging out with Phoenix, and this image just reminded me of him....I am not going to go into details, but the Euro Boy is giving pure love...just like my boy. And his expression is something that hit home. Sorry for the lack of details, but just know that my boy emotes love no matter what. Even if he isn't saying a word. Hence, the switch in ideas to a journal page. I colored the Euro Boy with watercolor markers and alcohol markers. And I added a wee bit of Distress Ink to the edge of the paper. I added some assort

Bookmarks with Dilly Beans

Happy Friday! I am so happy it's Friday.....it's a 3 day weekend! I LOVE having both of my kids at home. I am really looking forward to some serious playtime with them! But first...a little business. Though this kind of business if fun! It's time for a new Dilly Beans challenge! This week, we want you to make a bookmark! I for one, love making bookmarks, so I was excited to make a new one. This little cutie is on the Dilly Beans discontinued list. Want to snag some fabulous images inexpensively? Go HERE to see what's available! I used a mix of watercolor markers and alcohol markers to color her in. I just love her sunflower! How do you like my new punch? My mom bought it for me for my Birthday. It's from Martha Stewart. I love how big it is. And I thought it went really well with this image. Now it's time for you to visit the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog . DICC #46: An Itinerary of "F's"

Hello! Can you believe it's already mid-January?! My baby girl turned 4 an entire month ago! Well, since it's the 15th, that means it's time for a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge . This time, we are sponsored by Floppy Latte .  And here's our itinerary, created by  Jenn .     1. Fish or Fins     2. Feathers     3. Fur     4. Frogs     5. Fancy Text     6. Flight     7. Four colors     8. Flowers     9. Fairies     10. Fabric And here is what I created with my image from Floppy Latte. I used numbers 2, 5, 7, and 8. I colored this image very differently from how I typically color. I kept it all flat, but with kind of a stained glass feel. I don't often gravitate towards floral images, but this one just grabbed me. I really like it. I used Copics to color the image. The sentiment is from Inkadnkado. The feather was once a butterfly that my dog destroyed. I thought the feathers were so pretty, I didn't have the

Winter Fun with Dilly Beans!

It's my Birthday!!! I am so glad that it's Friday, so I can have a Birthday Weekend! Today, I have a new Dilly Beans challenge to share with you. It's Winter Fun. And I certainly did have fun coloring this image! How fabulous is this penguin?! I colored him with watercolor markers. I really wanted him to be bold and vibrant. I seriously am in love with this guy! Hey, did you know that Megan is having a big art sale on her Facebook page right now? How rad would it be to own some of her original art?! Click HERE to go to her page. My simple sentiment is from a DCWV Stack. Can't get much easier! Please play along with us for this challenge of Winter Fun. But before you do, head over to the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog for more inspiration from the DT. Thank

January Bombshell Stamps Sketch

Hello! I wanted to share my version of this month's Sketch from Bombshell Stamps . I used Indian Princess for this card. I love coloring the Princess. I used Spectrum Noir and Copic markers to color the two images. Did you know that this set comes in rubber and digi form? I love that there are options with this set. This was a easy, yet very eye-pleasing sketch to work with. I do hope you will play along. You have the chance at winning some Bombshell Stamps! Head over to the Bombshell Blog for more details. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Bombshell Muse Monday and Raise the Bar

Greetings! It's Monday, which makes me sad...as I really wish my boys were home with Rhiannon and I. But, girl time is always a good thing too! Today I have 2 projects to share with you. The first is Bombshell Stamps' Muse Monday project. The second is for Raise the Bar , which Rick St. Dennis is sponsoring. As a new member of his EDT, I really wanted to play along. So let's start with Muse Monday. Each month, I choose a Bombshell Stamps set that I want the Design Team to feature. Each Monday, different DT members share a project making that set. It's really cool to see so many different ways to use one set! This month, I chose King of the Road . I asked Gene what colors I should use for this hot rod. What do you think of his choices? I liked them. I used watercolor markers to color in the images, and I watercolor painted the background. Remember, each Monday the  Bombshell Gals will be showing different projects with this cool set. As I mentioned above, R

You Give my Heart Wings

Happy Sunday! I wanted to share a card with you today that I made for my husband for Christmas. It features the All My Heart set from Bombshell Stamps . So yeah, it's not Christmas-y at all. But it was about what was inside.... I told him I wanted to make his heart soar. Literally. I bought him a flying lesson. He has always wanted to fly planes, and has a lot of knowledge on the subject already. What's the best part? It is all getting video taped! We are both really excited. I was thrilled to buy it for him, and he was stoked to receive it. I can't wait for him to go! I colored the image entirely with Distress Inks. I also used Distress Stickles. He was really surprised about the card and the gift. It was a really special moment. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

New Beginnings with Rick St. Dennis & Snowmen with Dilly Beans

Hello bloggy friends! I am very excited for today's post. Not only do I have a new Dilly Beans challenge to share with you, but today is also my first official post with the Rick St. Dennis Team Glitter ! But let's start with Dilly Beans. This week's challenge is Snowmen. Something my kids really wish we could build...but we have no snow! I'm ok with that...but the kids are sad. This is digi #490: Candy Cane Snowman framed. I love all of the framed images from Dilly Beans. They all have such charm with the way that Megan (owner/designer) offsets the images. I colored the snowman with Spectrum Noir and Copic markers. I hope you can see the gradation of color in the background...it looks kind of like a sunset. I hope you will play along! Head on over to the Dilly Beans Challenge blog to do so, and to see what the rest of the DT has created! Now it's time for my Rick St. Dennis project. This is Euro Girl Hazel, and I think she is adorable. The theme

December Bombshell Hop and a New DICC!

Happy New Year!!! Today is the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop...even thought it's not on our typical "lat Wednesday of the month." A few folks needed a bit more time (busy Holiday season and all) so we decided to push the hop back a few days to give you as many projects to check out as possible. Also, since it's the first, it's time for a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge ! This time, we are sponsored by Rick St. Dennis. Let's start with the Bombshell Hop. December's Hop theme was "Make it a Gift." Meaning, no cards ! Here's my creation. I used Love and Luck for this layout of my daughter. I intend to give it to my mom as part of an ongoing gift for my mom....but I am worried that it may find it's way into one of my own albums. ;) I colored the 3 swallows and the banners with watercolor markers and Copics. The colors are off in this pic...they are a little too dark. But I wanted to see a closeup of my cutie from when she
