Flowering Feline & LB Icons

Hello again! This week, the Stampendous team is featuring project that use some of Laurel Burch's fantastic artwork. My card today uses quite a number of images, but I want you to take a good look at the Flowering Feline stamp. I immediately loved this one because the main part of the cat gets inked, as opposed to just an outline. I knew I needed to make it gold, so that I could go for a sort of cloisonne look. If you would like to learn how to make this card, check out my full instructions below. I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge , which is "Anything Goes." Spring Fling

Hello and thanks for coming to visit me! Today I have a new project that features one of the new Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground . I am entering this card into the latest Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge , which is "In My Garden." I decided to show off Spring Fling this time around, which has sequins, tiny rhinestones, and microbeads in springy shades of green, blue, purple, pink and gold. Remember, these Sparkle Blends are all limited edition, so if you see some that you like, grab them while you can. Also, you can only purchase them through White Rose Crafts LLC , and if you make it to the bottom of my post, you'll see that I have a special discount code for you. Here's a close up of Spring Fling. I often will stamp out or print a bunch of digital images to color them on the go or when I watch TV, etc. That was the case for this lovely fairy from A Day for Daisies . She's called Growing a Flower , and I have had her colored for some time n

Have Faith

Hello! Today I am hopping along with Andy Skinner's amazing Design Team to share projects made with his insanely cool stamps. The latest release, found in the January Stampendous catalog, really inspired me. I especially love the Textures stamp set, which is the main set I used on my card below. I started out with the "Smoosh Technique" (yup, that's a technical term) to apply a few colors of Distress Oxide inks to my background paper. I used watercolor paper by Recollections. I applied Fossilized Amber, Wilted Violet, and Worn Lipstick to my craft mat. I sprayed the colors with water, and dipped my paper into it. Once I was satisfied with the results, I heat set the colors with my embossing gun. Then, I started to use the stamps from the Textures set by inking them with Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers, and Frayed Burlap. I needed a focal point, so I added the "Have Faith" from Andy's Unexplained stamp set. I stamped it with VersaMark Ink (after

Rainbow Hello

Hello there! I have a bright and cheery Stampendous card to share with you today. This week, the Design Team has been sharing projects that feature the various Brushed Greetings that Stampendous has to offer. Magical Dragons Shaker Card

Greetings! Today, I am sharing a new project as a Guest Designer for Doodles Paper Playground . Doodles Paper Playground offers beautiful Sparkle Blends....amazing mixes of sequins, micro beads, teeny fimo pieces, and itty bitty jewels, and you can only get them at White Rose Crafts LLC . My card today features one of the new February blends, called Test Your Luck . I used the adorable Magical Dragons stamp set from My Favorite Things and color coordinated them with the Test Your Luck Sparkle Blends. These dragons are just the sweetest! And if you have been a follower of my blog, you know how much I love dragons and the fantasy realm. Here's a closer look at what's inside of the Test Your Luck Sparkle Blends. See the fimo flowers? And there's a smiley face peeking through! I adhered the dragons to make it appear as though they were actually looking into the shaker window. As though they were captivated by what was inside, moving around. My background was created

Bingo with Aurora Wings and Exciting News!

Hello! I have some news to share that I am so thrilled about. I am now apart of the  Aurora Wings  Design Team! I have loved Aurora Wings for many, many years, and I am truly honored to be working with such a talented group of people. Now on to the challenge! Challenge #64 is a Bingo challenge.  To play along, you may choose 3 colors or 3 embellishments (or BOTH!), in a row. You can go across, down, or diagonal. I chose to use the top row, for both colors and embellies. I chose to work with the pretty  Primrose Sprite , as the colors of primroses lend themselves well to the purple, red, and yellow of that Bingo row. I colored her with Zig Clean Color Markers. Here's a closer look. I found some coordinating papers, and a fun die from Echo Park called the Heart Doily Die. I die cut red glitter paper from DCWV and used the same die with an embossing pad for the yellow layer. Then I nested to 3 together. The lace is from my mom's stash, and my sentiment is from the  He

You Are Loved

Hello! Today, I wanted to share the Valentine's Day cards that I made for my kids. Like many crafters, I've been playing with alcohol inks again lately, and I had a bunch of backgrounds that were ready to get used. I pulled one that had Cranberry, Eggplant, and Raisin and got to work. I used an older Sizzix Thinlits die of a heart, and cut out 8. I ran my paper through my Big Shot machine twice with each heart because I used photo paper to create my backgrounds and it doesn't always cut cleanly the first time. Then I used gold foil cardstock from Recollections and die cut 2 different arrows, also from Sizzix. I knew I wanted a sentiment strip across the middle of the card, so I pulled out the Hero Arts You Are Loved Messages . There are so many beautiful sentiments in that set. I stamped the You Are Loved with VersaMark and then embossed with Detail Gold Embossing Powder from Stampendous. My background needed a little more of something....so I went with an older And

Boho Thanks

Hello! Today I am sharing my second project as a Guest Designer for Doodles Paper Playground . Last week, I shared a shaker card with the Crown Jewel Sparkle Blends. This time, I wanted to use the elements in the blends a little differently, and this is what I came up with. This card uses the Ocean View Sparkle Blend and the set has teeny tiny micro beads that don't have a hole. I decided to add them to the centers of the sequins that I applied around the card. This added some nice dimension to my almost 1 layer card. Here's a close up of Ocean View. There's even little dolphins in this mix!  To make my card, I stamped a few of the images from Stampendous' Paisley Pattern  cling set with Twilight VersaFine Clair Ink. I kept the images around the edge of the card, hanging off. Next, I colored it in with Zig Clean Color Markers. I kept my color palette really simple, sticking to the tones found in the Ocean View Sparkle Blend, with the exception of the greens.

Friendship

Hello! The Stampendous Design Team is sharing a week long theme of "Love is in the Air." Did you know that February 13th is Galentine's Day? Apparently it's a day to celebrate the love you have for your girlfriends! In honor of this special day, I decided to share Laurel Burch's Friendship with you. I loved coloring this stamp. For My Friend

Hello! This week, the Stampendous team has been sharing projects featuring the new Curios Stamps, as well as a small glimpse into our crafty spaces. The Curio stamps are meant to be displayed, so we wanted to show ours off! Today, my card features Birdie Friend . I stamped the Birdie Friend with VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne, and colored it in with Zig Clean Color Markers. Then I gave it a loose fussy cut. I die cut the Large Q Fitted Frame out of lavender cardstock and inked the edges with Aquamarine Chalk Ink. On pink cardstock, I inked up the Diamond Grid stencil with Worn Lipstick distress Oxide Ink. I also added some fabric washi tape to the side of my card, where the fold is. For some sparkle, I added just a few sequins from the Doodles Paper Playground Spring Fling Sparkle Blend. This is my card in my craft room. I got this little unit from IKEA and it is just perfect for storing the papers and some other things I use frequently. So up on top with my card and

Mosaic Mushrooms

Hello there! Today I have a card that I admittedly made some time ago for Stampendous, but never shared on my blog. I really like the look of mushrooms, and their link to the fairy realm, so I enjoy using them in projects. This Mosaic Mushroom stamp is fun to color, and gives the look of a stencil, without it actually being one. Below is my full tutorial. Supplies: Stampendous : W177 - Mosaic Mushrooms SSCM5002 : House Mouse Painted Wishes MPW811 : Mixed Media White Paper STF082 - VersaFine Onyx Black Ink Other : Tombow Dual Brush Markers- 020, 025, 055, 062, 126, 170, 173, 195, 452, 493, 515, 603, 606, 636, 620, 703, 723, 725, 743, 800, 815, 835, 845, 847, 856, 885, 899, 933, 947, 977, 990, 993, N89, N95, My Colors Cardstock: Fireflies, Black Magic Bazzill: Pixie Dust Directions: 1. Crowned Jewels for Doodles Paper Playground

Greetings! I have some exciting news to share! I am one of the February Guest Designers for Doodles Paper Playground , and I am so excited about it. If you've never heard of them, and you love sparkly things like me, you are in for a real treat! They hand mix the most beautiful blends of sequins, microbeads, and other teeny tiny goodies into what they call Sparkle Blends. I am telling you, they are so amazing, I could eat them. Ok, please don't do that. I promise I won't either. ;) But they are luscious! I will be sharing at least one project with each of the newly released Sparkle Blends this month. There are 5 altogether, and I know you will love them. For this card, I decided to work with Crowned Jewels, which is filled with bold colored sequins, teeny microbeads, faceted teeny gems, itty bitty stars and more. This combination screams party to me, and the colors are so dynamic. Here's a closer look at the mix. I tell ya, it's those teeny little faceted ge

Curios Launch Week: Butterfly Stretch

Hello! This week, the Stampendous Design Team is sharing the debut of the wonderful new Curio Stamps . These stamps are unique because they are meant to be displayed. And they are all so pretty! I chose to work with the Butterfly Stretch today. I recently purchased a 1-2-3 Punch from We R Memory Keepers, and I immediately thought of using this Butterfly Stretch with it. The 1-2-3 Punch makes boxes, bows, and envelopes, but I wanted to start with a box. So I used a piece of 110 lb Recollections cardstock and stamped the butterfly all over it with VersaFine Clair ink from Imagine in Nocturne. Then I colored the box with Zig Clean Color Markers. Creating the box, once all of the butterflies were colored, was super simple. Then I made a coordinating bow. The Punch Board is very easy to use, and I love that I can create whatever pattern or design I want on a box, bow, or envelope. And then, displaying these sweet Curio stamps in my craft room us a fantastic bonus! I'll have
