Sprite Delight with Aurora Wings

Hello! I am excited to be sharing my second official project on the Aurora Wings Challenge DT. Challenge #65 is "Sprite Delight." The Sprites are the reason why I fell in love with Aurora Wings in the first place. They are all so adorable, detailed, and expressive. Well, I recently got a Silhouette Cameo, and as I went through my Sprite collection for this challenge and saw the Pineapple Sprite, I knew I just had to use my Cameo to cut out a pineapple card.

I colored this sweet Sprite with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then found cardstock in my stash to coordinate with the colors I used. Then I did a search online and found this PERFECT free Pineapple Mini Book SVG file by Kim Watson to cut the card out. It was exactly what I was looking for! The "Greetings" I created myself with a font I had. I'd like to note, that I cut a second piece of the solid background, so that I could create my card back with it. I just scored it about 1/4" from the top, and attached it to the front.

To embellish the card further, I used some sequins from Doodles Paper Playground's Test Your Luck Sparkle Blends. I adhered them with On Point Glue from Imagine.

This was such a fun card to create, and I love that it came out how I had hoped. Below you will find the current coupon code for Aurora Wings, which is good until 3/20/18. Take advantage of these great discounts! And, please don't forget to visit the Aurora Wings Blog to see what the rest of the team created for the new Sprite Delight challenge. I hope you'll play along! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

How adorable, Alison! Your pineapple card is spectacular and shows off that sweet Pineapple Sprite to full advantage. Looks like you're having a ball with your new toy. Lovely coloring and the sequins add the perfect touch. Beautiful work! xxD
I love this bright and joyful pineapple card, Alison! Your coloring of the Pineapple Sprite is gorgeous, and I love the fun sparkly detail created by the sequins. The photo set-up is awesome, too! The whole thing just makes me smile every time I look at it. Thank you so much for this delightful inspiration for our Sprite Delight V challenge at Aurora Wings today! Mitzi xxx

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
