Jewels and Glitter with Dilly Beans

Happy Friday, Bloggy friends! It's time for a new challenge with Dilly Beans . This week, the theme is Jewels and Glitter...right up my Ali ...er...alley. I used Unicorn Girl Framed for this card. Isn't she cute? I colored her with alcohol markers. And of course some glitter! I will say that Stickles is by far the best type of glitter-gel-whatever it is stuff. See how pretty her horn and the heart on her shirt is? Stickles. Her a=hair? Some off brand that I absolutely need to re-do. But I left it for you to see. Are you going to play along this week? I hope you do! What's better than Jewels and Glitter? Not much! So please visit the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog to see more from the amazing team I am proud to be with. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

September Hump Day Hop: Speed Demons- Masters of Transportation

Greetings! It's time for the September 2013 Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, the theme I chose was Speed Demons- Masters of Transportation. Bombshell Stamps has so many images to choose from for this theme. Motorcycles, hot rods, even a ship! So I wanted the participants to use any of these Speed Demons as the focus of their projects. Here's what I created. I made a tag using Speed Shop and Pin-Stripes . I colored my hot rod with colored pencils. The tag I painted with acrylic paint. I kept the finish uneven on purpose. The big pin stripe was stamped with acrylic paint as well. I used a silver pencil for the chrome on the car, so I decided to go with the silver idea further and heat emboss my phrases and the crown in a bright silver. I love the added shine. I also added a bit of highlighting with a white gel pen. There you have it! So, do you have any of the Bombshell Stamps speed demons? Well, the folks below do, and they want to show off their projects!

Ribbons and Color

Hello! It's Friday so I have a new Dilly Beans challenge to share with you. Plus, it's the 20th (where did this month go???), so I have a new Chromatic Craze challenge as well. The Dilly Beans theme this week is ribbons. Here's what I made. I made this bookmark for my little girl. She is trying really hard to learn to read. She's 4 1/2. And I knew she would love that crinkly pink and purple ribbon. She was so excited when I gave it to her, and she has been going through lots of books, and using her bookmark for all of them. I colored this sweet turtle with water colors. The turtle has a similar look to the watercolor-y look for the ribbon. Now on to Chromatic Craze. This month, the colors are white, buttercream, periwinkle and salmon. To see them, please visit the CC Blog . Here's what I made. I made an ATC to go along with this week's Wicked Wednesday challenge, which is Crazy for Daisies.  I've had that sweet little daisy stamp for a wh

Rosie the Riveter by Bombshell Stamps

Greetings! I am so excited! There is a brand new digi set from Bombshell featuring the iconic Rosie the Riveter! I don't even want to discuss the set...I just want to show you what I've made! I decided to go with a breast cancer theme. One of these days, we are going to beat it- forever! I colored Rosie with my Spectrum Noir markers. And she still looks like she could take on the world, even in pink! I paired her with a awareness ribbon stencil plate from Sizzix. In the Rosie the Riveter set, you will get 2 versions of Rosie, plus 2 sentiments. You are going to love her, so hurry on over to snag her! Plus, please visit the Bombshell Blog to see what some of the other Bombshells came up with. Thanks for stopping by, have an inspiring day!

DICC #62: Digi Darla

Hello! I have a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge to share with you today. The newest itinerary was created by Kelli and is sponsored by Digi Darla. 1. use at least 3 colors from this  color pallet   2. pumpkins 3. crows 4. at least 3 layers 5. embellishments 6. add a tag to your project 7. Not a card. 8. add a fall sentiment 9.  use ribbon 10. add paint I used number 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, and 10. My focal image is from Digi Darla. I painted the crow and my background with watercolors, and my background stamp is from Recollections. The pumpkin was colored with alcohol markers.  My background stamp is actually pretty cool, because it's a toille Halloween scene. If you look closely, you will see Jack O' Lanterns, crows, skulls, and bats. Make sure you try to play along with us! You have 2 weeks to do so. And visit the DICC blog to see what the rest of the team has come up with. Thanks for sopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Washi Tape with Dilly Beans

Mwah-ha-haaaaaa! Happy Friday the 13th! And since it's Friday, I have a new Dilly Beans challenge to share with you. This week, we want you to use one of my new loves....washi tape. This stuff is FUN! Now I know why people have loved using it for so long. I used Olive in Piggie Tails #201. I think she is so cute, and I really like her hair. I colored her with Copics and Spectrum Noir markers. Look! I gave her purple eyes instead of my usual green! Every once in a while, I do something crazy like that. ;) My background is made entirely of washi tape. Super simple, but loads of fun. And I love how all of the different patterns look with each other. Do you like washi tape? If so, then play along! Please visit the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog to see what the other designers created and to get the challenge details. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

September Freebies from Rick St. Dennis

Happy Saturday! Are you a subscriber of Rick St. Dennis' newsletter? Well, I hope you are, as that is currently the only way to receive freebies from him. And who doesn't want some RSD freebies??? I decided to combine the two images he is sending to his fans into one 6x6 mini page. This is Buddy and Bitsy. You may have seen them before....as angels. And Buddy seems to still be holding up his end of the bargain, but Bitsy...not so much. I colored these two using my Spectrum Noir markers, and I colored the background with watercolors. My sentiment says, "The Harper twins had very different opinions about school." Which kid were you more like? I was definitely like Buddy. Totally the teacher's pet. And yeah, I'm proud of it! ;) To get all of the info on receiving the newsletter if you don't already, please visit Rick's Blog . Also, be sure to check out the Sparkle and Glitter Blog and the Airless Chambers Blog to check out some more creation

Buttons and Bartles

Greetings! It's Friday so it's time for a new challenge at Dilly Beans ! This week, we want you to use "Buttons," somewhere on your project. Here's what I made. I love this little skelli girl and her heart balloon. I kept it clean and simple this week. Mostly because we had a ton going on this week. My kids go back to school next week, so we were trying to make the most of our last few days of Summer. Plus, we adopted a new puppy!!! Pic below. :) I colored the image with my alcohol markers. The buttons are a pretty shade of green, but the light didn't catch them here. Ahhhh, that's better! Now....on to the new pupster! This is Bartles.....though his name may change, with our other dog Abigail. Bartles is on the right. Here's another! Seriously, can you even stand the cuteness? I can't. Now, after you are done oohing and awwwwing our newest baby, please be sure to visit the rest of the Dilly Beans DT. They have lots of great th
