Dilly Beans Challenge: Pop it Up!

Greetings! It's Friday, so that means it's time for another Dilly Beans Challenge ! This week, the challenge is to use Pop Dots and layers. And I have a special treat for you...my son Phoenix liked this challenge so much (plus he just loves Dilly Bean's images ), so he decided to play along!  Here's what my almost 6 year old made! Isn't it adorable? He made a birthday card for my sister. She loves snowmen, so he thought this image would be perfect for her. Look at all of those layers! That boy used a lot of pop dots! Phoenix is very proud of his work...as well he should be! And he is very excited to know that his card is on, not only my, but the Dilly Beans Blog too! And now, on to my project. How great is this guy??? This image is called "Little Monster Head #475." I colored him with watercolors, and i love how he turned out. You can see the colors a lot better here. Like Phoenix,  I used a bunch of layers and pop dots (though not quite a

November Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop!

Hello out there in Bloggyland! It's the last Wednesday of the month, so it's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, snce so many of us have been busying ourselves in the kitchen with Thanksgiving (at least, here in the USA), I decided to give us a recipe challenge. It's pretty simple. 3 Patterned Papers 2 Bombshell Stamps 1 Piece of Ribbon Simple right? Here's what I came up with, using Rose's Portrait. I really love this image. It's so easy to make things look pretty with her. I used watercolor markers, Spectrum Noirs, and Copics to color her in. Here's a close up. I used some pop dots on the extra rose. And how fabulous is that mesh ribbon?! I found it in the Christmas dept. at Michaels. So you have 14 glorious stops in this hop, so I suggest you get going! Please make sure you leave a little love for everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day! Bombshell Blog:  http://bombshellstamps.blogspot.c

Anything Goes with Dilly Beans!

Greetings! I hope that all of my fellow Americans had a stupendous Thanksgiving. Today, I have a new (and super simple!) Dilly Beans challenge for you. Anything goes! Just get your creation posted to the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog before next Thursday. Easy! Here's what I made. For my card, I used Mimi and Sarah's Pumpkin Framed. When I first saw this image, it immediately reminded me of me and my daughter. So, I decided to color Mimi and Sarah to look like us. :) Isn't this image so sweet? I used watercolor markers, Spectrum Noir, and Copics for it. I made this card for my family for Thanksgiving. I hope you will join us for the Anything Goes challenge. Please stop by the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog to see what athe rest of the DT has cooked up for you this week. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

I Miss You so Much: November S&S Sketch

Greetings! It has been quite a while since i have gotten to play along with the challenges over at Smeared & Smudged . I really liked this month's sketch, so I wanted to give it a go. I made this card for my husband, who was away on business all last week. I used a cute pair of Grumpies from the Love Li'l Grumpies set. I also used a rubber background stamp from the Urban Decay set. Both from Smeared Ink . My sentiment is from Dilly Beans . I colored the Grumpies with watercolor markers. Aren't they cute? In a weird sort of way.... I like my paper choices fr this one. I went with really bold colors, and patterns that some may not have thought to put together. But, I love mixing patterns like this. This was a great sketch. And my husband really liked the card. He even showed it to some of his co-workers! That made me very proud. I will say, that I am thrilled he is back home. I hate when he's gone. Thank you so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Thanks: New Dilly Beans Challenge

Happy Friday! I for one, am thrilled that it's Friday. My husband has been away on business since early Monday morning, and I cannot wait for him to come back home tonight! I have a brand new Dilly Beans challenge to share with you today. The theme this week is "Thanks." I have a lot of people in my life that need to be thanked lately...and for that fact alone, I am grateful. I made this card for someone very special...but I don't want to say who it is in case she hasn't gotten it yet. I did something very different for my card today. Can you figure out what it is? I colored her blonde! I hardly ever do that. I figured it was time to push some boundaries. Plus, my recipient recently went blonde, so I thought it was appropriate. I colored Chloe Bell Framed (#454) completely with watercolors. My sentiment is also from Dilly Beans. I liked combining all of the different patterned papers. This was a fun (and easy!) layout to do. I think I will do it again

Twilight Blog Hop! Plus a New DICC!

Greetings fellow Twi-hards! Greetings! I have TWO projects today! First, I have a new Twilight project to share, and then a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge card. Tonight is the night! It is the release for Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2! I cannot believe that the last movie is finally being released. Will you be at a premiere? I am going to a marathon, though unfortunately  I won't be able to see all of the movies. I'll only be watching the last 3. But it will be loads of fun, none the less. I decided that since this was the last movie, I needed to do one last Twilight hop. One more hurrah before it was all over. So, I asked which of my fellow Twi-friends wanted to hop along with me. Happily, there were 6 gals that wanted to join me. So there are 7 awesome stops in this Blog Hop. And we all made some fabulous, Twilight inspired projects! I am the first stop on the hop, so if you are just starting to hop, you are in the right place! Here's what I came up with.

Anything Boy Challenge: Dilly Beans

Happy Friday! It's been a crazy week here in NY again....We got nailed with snow, more power outages, a gas shortage and only 1 day of school this week. I can't even imagine what Winter is going to be like! On the bright side, I have a new Dilly Beans Challenge to share with you today! This week, our challenge is Anything Boy. I love this challenge, because I find that often, projects are made more for girls than boys. It's time to show the dudes some crafty love! I used Martin (#376) for my card today. I just love him! I had so much fun coloring him, and I love his clothes. I colored him with a bunch of watercolor markers and Copics. I really enjoyed doing his skin....those greens make me happy. I used a bunch of paper scraps, and Distress Stickles for faux staples. And a couple of cool swirls. My "No. 1" is from Fiskars. All in all, I think it's a funky boyish card. 'm sure my Phoenix will want it fr himself. :) Please go over to the Dilly B

Bernadette: A Makeover

Greetings! This past weekend, Rick St. Dennis had some fun on his Facebook page, and had his followers answer assorted questions to win some digis. I was a lucky duck that day and won twice! So I couldn't wait to share one of the images I had won with you. One of the images i won was Bernadette . She looks like a very sweet lady...but I just couldn't leave her that way...I turned her into a creepy Queen of Hearts. I did her all in greys and black, with a bit of red. I was hoping that I could get this card into this week's Smudgy Antics Challenge, but I didn't want to add flowers to the card. And as their challenge goes for this week, that's what I would have needed to do. But back to the image...I colored her entirely with Copics, which is unusual for me. I thought about giving her dark circles under eyes, but I didn't want to make her ugly...just creepy. I did however give her eyeliner, and I extended her eyelashes a bit. In truth, she looks a bit

Muse Monday with Bombshell Stamps: Cherry Bomb

It's the first Monday of the month, so I am bringing you the first week of Muse Monday with Bombshell Stamps . Each month, I am choosing a different set to highlight. So each Monday, different Bombshell gals are going to show off the featured set to give you lots of inspiration. This month, the featured set is Cherry Bomb . I love this Bombshell because she's sitting. There's not too many Bombshells that are sitting down. I also used the banner that came with this set. I used watercolors to color in my Bombshell and the banner. I hand drew that little border with a marker. I also used the large cherries that come with the set to create my background. I thought about coloring them in, but I liked the idea of leaving them uncolored better. So instead I inked the edges in red. Want to see more with Cherry Bomb? Then please visit the Bombshell Blog every Monday this month to get lots of inspiration! Thanks for stopping by. Have a fang-tastic day!

"Girly" Dilly Beans Challenge

Hello, everyone. It's Friday, so it's time for a new Dilly Beans challenge. This week's challenge is "Girly." Not something I typically do, but I of course had to give it my own twist. ;) This is Girly, Alison style. This is Pinky's Skull Bow. I colored her with my colored pencils. Look! There's pink! That's girly! I even used a couple of flowers. I also broke out one of the Bedazzlers that Kathi recently gave me. So what's your version of Girly? Let's see it! Get your project linked up to the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog . Plus, when you visit, you can see what the rest of the DT has cooked up for this challenge. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!!!

Dia de los Muertos Hop with the Bombshell Girls!

Happy November! It's officially Dia de los Muertos, one of my favorite holidays. The Bombshell gals wanted to bring you a special blog hop in honor of this very special celebration. Here's what I made. I used the ever-popular Sugar Skulls set. I started by stamping the medium skull in the background. Then I just layered my papers and stamped my sentiment on top. I thought these papers (from DCWV) worked really well with the decorations on the skulls. Many of the other gals have fabulous projects on the Bombshell Blog . Please be sure to visit them! Also, I would like to wish Bombshell Stamps ' creator and owner, Shannon, a very happy Birthday. You rock, Shannon! Have a rad day! Since it's the 1st of the month, I should also have a Desert Islands Crafters Challenge for you. Hurricane Sandy really f'ed me up, and I forgot. I am going to try to get that done and posted for your viewing pleasure  Until then, please visit DICC to see what the latest itinera
