Little Wednesday

Hello! I have a scrapbook page to share with you today. It felt soooo good to be scrapbooking again! I really need to find more time to do it, as I am so ridiculously far behind. But at least I got 1 page done! I made this with the June Dreamweaver Stencils challenge in mind…Glitter and Weddings. Ok, so this is certainly NOT a wedding page, but I did use a heap of glitter! I experimented with their Double Glitter technique…and boy is it fabulous! The only problem is that, you are supposed to use a sheet of double sided adhesive….where the glue itself is a sheet. The only stuff I had on hand like that had a dotted adhesive. It doesn’t hold all the glitter because it’s in dot form! But, it did give it a cool distressed look. Wanna see? Some of you may remember when I took these pictures of my daughter Rhiannon. It was for a Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls challenge. Well, I never got to scrap them, and I took a lot of pictures! These are 2 of my favorites. This is where I appl

June Hump Day Hop: 3 Cheers for Summer!

Hello, friends! It's the last Wednesday of the month, which means it's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month's theme is 3 Cheers for Summer. This means that the project needs to be Summer themed, and has either the number 3 on it, or 3 of something. Here's what I made. I worked with the beautiful Hula Gir l. I colored the girls all the same, except for their hair. Can't you feel the warm breeze and hear the Hawaiian music playing? I used watercolor markers and Copics to color in the images. I also used the banner from one of the smaller (but just as cool) images from the Hula Girl set. This month's Hump Day Hop is 14 fabulous participants! I am so happy to see so many folks spreading the Bombshell love. Please be sure to stop by everyone's blog. Below is the full hop list. Thank you for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!!! Wicked Wednesday: #37 Lazy Summer

Hello! My friend Jenn has a challenge blog called Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge . I have been wanting to participate, but had not gotten the chance to do so. But I finally found a few minutes! This week, the challenge is Lazy Summer , and it's sponsored by A Day for Daisies , which, though you may be surprised, I absolutely LOVE their images. Not my typical style by any stretch, but there is something so sweet and magical about their simple lines, and kind faces. I happened to have an image of theirs colored up for a while, so I decided this was the perfect time to use her. This little darling is called A New Dress. Isn't she precious? I colored the image with mostly pencils, but I used a couple of watercolor markers on her dress. My sentiment is from Inkadinkado. And I made the flowers using the same Tim Holtz die that I used on my card yesterday. I have a feeling I am going to get a LOT of use out of it! Phoenix helped me pick out my papers...he really loves to

Macabre Monday 138: Eerie Elegance

It has been what feels like forever since I have had a chance to play with Haunted Design House . This week, the Macabre Monday challenge is Eerie Elegance . And I just knew I needed to use a Simply B Stamps image for it. But there are so many to choose from!!! I eventually decided to go with The Alchemist's Wife Nightmares . Seriously, how fabulous is this image? I used the Spotlight Technique to color my image, but with a bit of a twist. I printed the image twice, and cut out my spotlight from the colored version so that I could pop-dot it to the second. I used colored pencils, watercolor markers and Copics to color this in. I aged the background image with Antique Linen Distress Inks. I also used a cream colored card, instead of white, and I sprayed it with a coffee colored spray from Tsukineko. I recently became a Pampered Chef consultant (links on the side of my blog!). And I did pretty well my first month out, so I decided to give myself a little congratulatory gift

Bombshell June Pin-Up Challenge: Raise Yer Flag

Greetings! Today I am sharing the latest Bombshell Stamps Pin-Up Challenge with you. This month, our Pin-Up is Kim . She has challenged us to "Raise Yer Flag!" Some examples Kim had suggested was to use an actual flag, a pirate's flag, the colors of a country's flag, etc. Here's what I came up with. I chose to work with my Retro Cowgirls  and Harley Bikes sets for this card. You may recognize this paper from the card I posted on Monday. I had made this one first, but I had left the scraps out and was inspired to use them for Gene's Father's Day card as well. I used watercolor markers and Copics to color in my cowgirl, then I went over her with Antique Linen Distress Ink to tone her down a bit. I also colored the Outlaw (which I cut into a banner) with Copics. I remembered that I had some rad star shaped rhinestones that fit oh-so-perfectly over a star punch that I had recently gotten. I inked my card with that Antique Linen Distress Ink as we

June Bombshell Stamps Sketch Challenge

Greetings! It's Monday, and I am sad that my husband is going to work today. Especially after we just had such a nice Father's Day. We went to a (small) Pirate Festival, and had a nice dinner with my Mom and sisters. We weren't in full pirate garb, but we certainly fit in. So many folks sadly didn't even make the attempt to dress up. So it would only be fitting for me to share a card using Bombshell Stamps ' Pirate's Life set, right? Well, that's not going to happen today. ;) Instead, I have a card, featuring this month's Sketch, using Cherry Bomb and Harley Bikes , and Man's Ruin . I made it for Gene, for Father's Day. This was tricky! I had been wanting to try this for a while now, but decided that it was finally time to actually give it a go. Did you notice that my Cherry Bomb Bombshell is sitting in a different position? Wanna see the original? Click the link above. She's a wee bit too big for the bike, but I still think

DICC Sponsored by Dilly Beans!

Greetings! Where is the time going? I feel like I am running around in circles...getting nowhere fast. I am excited. Today is my very first cooking show as a Pampered Chef consultant! I hope it all goes well...I think that it will. Fingers crossed! Thankfully, I managed to finish my card for today! It's time for a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge . And we now have sponsors! This time around, our sponsor is Dilly Beans ! What an awesome bunch of digis they have. It was soooo hard to choose just one. I can't wait to get some more. But first, here's the itinerary, conjured up by my good friend Jenn (and co-DT member) 1. Lots of purple 2. Skulls 3. Bows'Ribbons 4. No Patterned Paper/Designer Paper 5. At least 3 Buttons 6. Bird's Nest Pendants

Are you on Pinterest? Oh my word, what a wonderful place to be. I love Pinterest. How clever to have a virtual pinboard for everything you love on the web? And keep it all organized! I've found that many Pinners don't actually go forth and use their Pins. Which is so sad. An unfulfilled pin is a waste! I try to redo, use, and get inspired by my pins all the time. Ok, not quite as often as I'd like, but I really do try. This past week, I used 2 of my pins. I'm going to share one of them with you today. HERE 's the original post where the pin was taken from. And this is one of mine.... I made these necklaces for my son's teachers. I think they are adorable, and just perfect for those amazing folks that are educating our wee ones. I have often seen these necklaces with just a simple silver chain, and the nest is always silver-toned as well. I wanted to change it up, so I used a very pretty brown. And for the necklace, some pale pink glass beads. Here is my othe

Kenny K Design Team Call

I very recently went from being on four design teams, to being on only 2. At one point, I was on 5! There was always one team in particular that I wanted to be on, but the timing wasn't right, or I already had enough on my plate. But, the stars have (hopefully) aligned themselves. I am trying out for the Kenny K Design team. Today, I am sharing not only a new Kenny K project, but a few of my favorites from the past. I hope you enjoy them all! I just finished this card for the latest Kenny K Challenge which is Pearls. I used Allura Von D (who is my favorite Kenny K gurl that I have. I used my usual mix of watercolor markers and Copics to color her in. I, of course, had to give her some teal hair in the front to match mine. I used some foiled paper (the one with the kisses) and a couple of other funky patterns. I stamped the sentiment with a Just Rite stamper, and my pears are Liquid Pearls in Platinum from Ranger. Can I just say that I really, really want her boots! Di

A Card for Phoenix

Today was a bittersweet day. Phoenix had his Celebration of  Growth (ie: Graduation) in preschool today. I cannot believe that my boy is 5 and moving on to kindergarten in a few short months. It's too much for me to handle! Why is there no way for us to slow down the hands of time??? But before I start to sob all over my keyboard, I wanted to share a card with you that I made for him. Phoenix loves all things red, white, and blue. He gets so excited when he sees the American Flag. He actually shouts out, "Look! American!" It's really funny. If it's got those 3 colors, he wants it. So I decided to make him a card featuring those 3 colors. I had gotten the idea for this card from Pinterest. I had seen a card that totally inspired me. Want to see the original? Click HERE . I used my Slice machine to make all of the stars. I just varied the sizes and colors, so this was really simple. And fast! My paper is from DCWV. And those two patterns? They are actuall

Skull Appreciation Day 2012!

It's June 4th! Know what that means??? It's Skull Appreciation Day! Today is the day that you can celebrate all things about the cranium! It all started at the Skull-A-Day web site. You can learn all about this fantastic blog, and this fun celebration HERE . I am participating in 2 skull celebration hops. One for Smeared & Smudged , and one for Bombshell Stamps. I played along with the S&S Skull hop last year, and it was loads of fun. Check out that post HERE . So since I am in 2 hops, I made 2 projects! Both featuring Bombshell Stamps though. They have some fab-u-licious skulls!!! The first project is a card featuring the Sugar Skulls set. I used the largest stamp in this set, and with Phoenix's direction, I colored it in with lots of bright, cheery colors. The sentiment is also from the Sugar Skulls set. I tried to keep it very un-goth. No black (except for the outline). All happy colors. For my next project, I went with a pendant. Now admittedly,
