Day 31 of 31: Happy Halloween!!!

Holy crow! It's officially Halloween! I don't know about you, but I am exhausted! This month really sucked the life right out of me...mwahahahahaaaaaa............ Today, for my last post for the 2016 31 Days of Halloween, I have 1 final 6x6 Mini Page to share with you. To me, and I am sure to many of you...Halloween isn't just about bats, black cats, and Jack O' Lanterns. And while of course those things are fun and fabulous....Halloween means more to me. The thinned veil, the time for witches and fae to dance around a fire, etc. So although this Saturated Canary image isn't obviously Halloween, it speaks to me in a Halloweeny sort of way. Do you see it too? I used my Zig Clean Color markers to color in Nymphlytte. I really like how she turned out. My sentiment is from Hero Arts ' Dreams are Made set. My background was made with Imagine 's Bronze Creative Medium and Stampendous ' Filagree Metal Stencil . Around the border, I used some of Stampe...

Day 30 of the 31 Days of Halloween

Greetings! Can you believe that this is almost the end? I sure can't.... Today I have a card featuring a Dreamweaver Stencil (via Stampendous). And I used one of my favorite techniques with embossing paste. The technique I used is called Molten Metal. Basically, you spread your embossing paste over a stencil, remove the stencil, then tap Metallic F/X powder on to the wet paste. I usually use a brush to to this. Then, I heat the paste with a heat gun until it starts bubbling. Brush off the excess, and then you have this great effect! I used Forestry, Nouveau Orange, and Purple Satin over Glossy Black embossing paste. I spritzed the background of the bats with Tuxedo Black Fireworks! Spray , plus I rubbed some Black Shimmer Delicata ink around the edges. Both are from Imagine . Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fangtastic day!

Left of Center: Day 29 of 31

Greetings! It's not only the 29th day of the 31 Days of Halloween, but it's also my 12th Anniversary with my wonderful husband. Huzzah! Today, I have a new Left of Center challenge to share. The theme is Halloween, and our sponsor is Bloobel Stamps. I made an ATC. She looks pretty content now, doesn't she? Once again, I used my Zig Clean Color Markers to color the image in. Thank goodness for those teeny bristles on the brush....I printed this witch out super tiny so that she'd fit on my 2.5" x 3.5" ATC. My sentiment is part of a bigger Inkadinkado sentiment, and i embossed it with Rose Gold embossing powder from Stampendous. I wish you could see how gorgeous this color is in real life. I also added a little washi tape. Please visit the Left of Center blog to see what the rest of Team B has come up with. And don't forget about the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creeptastic day!

Bats and a Cat: Day 28 of 31

Greetings! It is the 28th day of the 31 Days of Halloween. Today, I have a card that was inspired by a Jennifer McGuire video (called Back Stamping ) that I recently watched. After you check out the video, you'll understand what I did, which is actually pretty simple. But it's a fun technique! The bat stamps are from Tim Holtz and Sizzix. I used Purple Petunia VersaMagic and Elderberry Memento inks from Imagine . My sentiment is called Prowl , and it's from Stampendous . I stamped that with Elderberry too. I also used the "V" Fitted Frames to die cut the sentiment. I thought it needed a little bit of sparkle, so I spritzed Sheer Shimmer Sparkle all over the sentiment and background. I also added a ribbon from Creative Impressions. This was a pretty quick card to make, and I really liked trying out a new technique. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fangtastic day!

Day 27 of 31 with Stampendous

Greetings! We are so close to the end! I hope you have enjoying all of the tricks and treats of the 31 Days of Halloween so far. Today I have a 6x6" Mini Page featuring Stampendous. This week, the Stampendous team is sharing projects featuring elements of Halloween costumes, so I knew I just had to use this new Witch Boots Metal Stencil . I first outlined the stencil using the pen from the Stencil Duos . It's the perfect fine line pen for the job. Then I colored the image in with my Zig Clean Color Markers. I also inked up one of my favorite stencils on the green cardstock...the Chevron . Plus, I used part of the Spider Web stencil on my pumpkin. I also stamped my sentiment (it's only part of the Witching You stamp), and I used an older Andy Skinner stamp for the mini page base. All of my inks are from Imagine . Please be sure to visit the rest of the Stampendous team that is posting today by visiting the Blog . And, don't forget about the Wicked Blogge...

Mummy Bat: Day 26 of 31

Hello! It's not only the 26th day of the 31 Days of Halloween, but it's also Wednesday, so that means I have a new Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge to share with you. This week, we are sponsored by Oddball Art and the theme is Witches, Bats, and Black Cats. Easy as pie, right? Here's my ATC. Look at this silly bat! I'm trying to decide if he was on the receiving end of a prank, or if this is his poor attempt at making a costume. Ether way, I like him! He's colored with my Zig Clean Color Markers, and then I fussy cut it. My background was created with the fabulous Dreams are Made stamp set from Hero Arts and some ink from Imagine (the best is the Gold Shimmer Delicata ink!). Don't forget to visit the rest if the Wicked Wednesday team over on the Blog . And of course, there are the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fangtastic day!

Jack O' Lantern: Day 25 of 31

Greetings! Today, I broke out an old favorite. It's a BIG Jack O' Lantern stamp from Tattered Angels. The set is one of my favorite Halloween sets that I have. The images are all big, craggy, and awesome. This card is 6 1/2" x 5" so you can get a feel for how big the stamp is. I inked it up with Spiced Chai StazOn ink and then I colored it with my Zig Clean Color markers. I inked the edge with Rich Cocoa Memento ink, and used the same color, in marker form, to add my Inkadinkado sentiment. My background was super simple to make. I just used the Cappuccino Delight Kaleidacolor , rolled out with my brayer, a few spritzes of Ink Potion No. 9 , plus a couple of sprays of Sheer Shimmer Frost. I'm running low on time because I have finally started working on my daughter's costume. And I need to get that finished so that I can start my son's. So making a fairly quick card like this was pretty important. I think drying time took the longest, and tha...

Witch Earrings: Day 24 of 31

Hello again! It's Day 24 of the 31 Days of Halloween, and today I have a pair of earrings to share with you. I had these fun cauldron and witch hat charms that I haven't gotten to use much, so I thought this was a good time. Now of course, I will wear these for more than just Halloween, but they totally work for this bewitching month. I used some hematite and metal seed beads...plus a couple of beautiful Pietersite beads. It's tough for me to capture how cool the Pietersite is, so Google it. The stones have a beautiful chatoyancy (bands of reflected light)....they just shine. It's got some great purposes associated with it too. I got this from Crystal Vaults : Pietersite is a powerful protection stone, especially against the elements. It calms nervous people and animals during storms, protects when driving in bad weather, and guards homes and businesses against storm damage. It also acts as a shield against the adverse effects of technology, particularly if yo...

Drawer Pulls: Day 23 of 31

Greetings! It's Day 23 of the 31 Days of Halloween. Today, I am sharing a project for my kids' room. Last year, we decided to deck the room out in sugar skulls. In a never-ending quest to add more to the room, I decided to change out a few of the drawer pulls on their dressers. Just a few here and there. The pulls are just like the ones that came on the drawers, so they will look nice when I switch them out. These handles are from Home Depot, and they were pretty inexpensive. I painted them in a pearly white paint. Then, I used the largest sugar skull from the Sugar Skulls Bombshell stamp set, and stamped it with StazOn ink on too tissue paper. Then, I colored them with Sharpies. The Sharpie ink bled a bit on the tissue paper, so I had to re-stamp a few of them. I sealed them off with a gloss varnish, and the tissue paper doesn't show at all. Using that made it very simple, as opposed to trying to stamp the image over the curve of the drawer pulls. My kids are reall...

Bat and Spiderweb Necklace: Day 22 of 31

Hello! It's Day 22 of the 31 Days of Halloween, and today I have a necklace to share with you. I always try to do at least one piece of jewelry, and I often try to incorporate Shrinky Dinks (shrink plastic) into a piece because it's a lot of fun to see how my big stamps work when they are really tiny. I have an older stamp set from Inkadinkado that my sister gave me. I haven't used the set too often, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to play with it. The spider web is really big; about the size of an ATC. So I knew it would shrink down to a good size. The bats were pretty big too, so they were going to make good accents for the web. I just played around with some beads I had. I knew I wanted to use red, as for some reason I don't have a lot of necklaces with red. Plus, I had the fabulous red links i used for the back of the necklace that I haven't used before, and I was itching to. I stamped the images with StazOn ink from Imagine, and the Shrink...

Spooky with Imagine: Day 21 of 31

Greetings! Welcome to Day 21 of the 31 Days of Halloween. It's no secret that Halloween is my absolute favorite time of the year, and when I'm crafting or decorating for this very special season (a day is just not long enough!), I like to make things that are creepy. I don't do the full on gore, and I try not to go super cutsie. I prefer to be a little off-putting and eerie, and I think my card today shows that. Here's a full tutorial. Supplies: Imagine: Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle Vertigo in Tilted StazOn in Claret & Jet Black irRESISTable  in Love Letter Memento in Tuxedo Black Other: EK Success Jack O Lantern layer punch Stampendous Fitted Frames Set B Xyron : Creative Station Scrapbook Adhesieves : Foam Squares May Arts Ribbon Inkadinkado Halloween sentiment stamp Gray and orange cardstock White card base Directions: 1. Day 20 of 31: Halloween Skirt

Hello! It's Day 20 of the 31 Days of Halloween, and today I have stepped away from the paper. Instead, I have a skirt to share! I am slowly learning how to sew, and I'm pretty happy with the way this skirt turned out. I fell in love with the vintage look of the print. Here's me wearing it yesterday. It was "Orange Day" in my class (I am an assistant teacher in a nursery school) so this skirt was perfect. As was the wig I borrowed from my sister. Check out all of the fun little icons on that fabric! The skirt pattern was unique too. It wasn't supposed to have solid inserts, but I thought it would look cool with them. Now it has some nice contrast. Here's me wearing the skirt last week with my daughter who is wearing a skirt I made for her previously. Her skirt has rockabilly ghosts and skeletons all over it. I love to sew...I just wish I had more time to do it. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, they are all listed in my side b...

Day 19 of 31: Wicked Wednesday with Nikki Burnette

Hello! It's Day 19 of the 31 Days of Halloween. It's also Wednesday, so that means it's time for a new Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge . This week, we are sponsored by Nikki Burnette and the theme is Halloween Colors. I worked with Nikki's Esme and I colored her with my Zig Clean Color Markers. The color is a little off in the above photo. My apologies. It's much more accurate in the photo below.  I played with a couple of fun papers for my background, plus a few Gold irRESISTable Spray spritzes on the the purple cardstock. Please visit the rest of the Wicked Wednesday gals over on the Blog . And be sure to check out all of the Wicked Bloggers listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have an bewitching day!

Owls on Kaleidacolor: Day 18 of 31

Hello! It's time for Day 18 of the 31 Days of Halloween. Today I have a little tutorial for you that I created for Imagine . For those of you outside the USA, Imagine is the American side of Tsukineko. You are probably already familiar with their inks, sprays and markers. I adore their products and I love being an Artist in Residence for them. But on to today's project! My card today features the Cappuccino Delight Kaleidacolor ink pad. If you haven't seen these before, I urge you to take a peek at the link above.  . Kaleidacolor is Imagine's multicolor (“rainbow”) dye inkpad for paper crafting of all kinds.  You can even get empty pads and create your own rainbow! Let me break down the details for you. Supplies: Imagine : Cappuccino Delight Kaleidacolor Ink Pad Ink Potion No. 9 Rich Cocoa and Desert Sand Memento Ink Gold irRESISTable Spray Other : Sizzix and Tim Holtz Stamp and Die set: 659374 Hero Arts : Dreams are Made stamp set Stampendous Fitted ...

Blue Pumpkin: Day 17 of 31

Greetings! Welcome to day 17 of the 31 Days of Halloween! Let me start off by saying, my project today does not have a Blue Pumpkin . But that's the name of the absolutely gorgeous image I used today from Ching Chou Kuik . I colored the image with my Zig Clean Color Markers, and I added some Desert Sand Memento Ink around the edges, plus some Wheat VersaMagic to tone down the white cardstock as well. Both inks are from Imagine. I added some green damask cardstock and a little pumpkin that I punched out, plus some silver sequins to add a little shine. And we can't forget about the fabulous glitter cardstock in the lower left corner. Talk about sparkle! That's it for me today. I think once the Stickles dry on my pumpkin punch, I am going to add some more detail to it. It's looking a little flat to me in these pictures. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers. They are all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fangtastic day!

Day 16 of 31: Spider Girl

Greetings! It's Day 16 of the 31 Days of Halloween. Today I have a card featuring Spider Girl from A Day for Daises. She was colored with only a few Zig Clean Color Markers and a water brush. I think I used only 4 markers for her (I colored her quite a while ago, but only just put the card together). This Spider Girl is pretty different from the other gal I had up yesterday from Sami Stamps, though there are some similarities too. Here's a fun fact. Tammy, the artist and owner of ADfD is the sister of Sammy, the artist of Sami Stamps. Pretty cool, right? For my background, I tore some purple cardstock and sprayed it with Sheer Shimmer Frost from Imagine . I added some spiderweb washi tape, and I tore some spider paper and added that too. I like the simplicity of this card. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creeptastic day!
