Linnie Blooms and Stampendous Collaoration

Linn ie Blooms and Stampendous...what a fantastic combination!  You're going to find oodles of fun projects to really take your mixed media in a new direction.  Of course there are prizes for 3 lucky winners!  Just click on the Stampendous link  HERE  for details. For my project, I started to create a mini book for my dogs.  That's my boy with our dog Abigail. They're really good buds. I started off playing with what will be one of the inside pages of the file folder mini album. I don't know why, but I typically leave the covers for last. They tend to be the hardest parts for me. I cropped down my photo and pulled acrylic paints to coordinate with it. I painted some Christmas Green on the canvas first, and let it dry. Meanwhile, I cut out a mat for my picture, and I heat embossed with a couple of the lovely vials in the Blue Frantage Encrusted Jewel Technique 5 Jar Kit. Say that 3 times fast! Now that my green paint has dried, I grabbed a turquoise paint and

Dreamweaver Thursdays: Picnic Fun

Greetings! It's Dreamweaver Thursday, and I have a fun new project to share with you. The Stampendous! team is playing with a picnic theme this week, so I decided to go with that in a loose sort of way for my piece. I took a plain old tag from an office supply store and made it into a fun Host gift tag. I sell Pampered Chef , and my fellow teamie Pam gave me a great idea! I mentioned that I was going to use the Apron die for  my project. She thought it would be fun to tie in the Pampered Chef aspect and perhaps add it to one of the "picnic" products I sell. I thought it was a brilliant idea! I inked up the small square stamps from the Creative Palette Rectangles set with a red ink from Imagine Crafts . Next, I took the Apron stencil  and I lightly inked it on to the tag, so that I could easily place the pieces of the die cut. I cut the apron, and glued it down. The Pampered Chef apron has white dots on black fabric, so I used a white Pentel gel pen to add the do

Stampendous and Clear Scraps Collaboration: Parrot Party

The Stampendous team has been doing a fun collaboration with Clear Scraps all week long. Since today it Dreamweaver Thursdays, I was sure to infuse a bit of stenciling and die-cut goodness into my project. I made a scrapbook page featuring not only a fun piece of acrylic from Clear Scraps, but a stencil and die-cut from Dreamweaver as well as a stunning Parrot and a companion leaf. For the acrylic piece, I took the Quatrefoil stencil and applied alcohol inks to it. Here's a closer look. I love how the various colors of alcohol inks blend together. I used a purple, a cornflower blue, a yellow and a green. I also wrote my title with a Sharpie on the acrylic sheet. I colored the parrot and large leaves with my Tombow watercolor markers. You can see in the above photo the Leafy Branch die cut that I used with a metallic cardstock. I used some washi tape to help secure the Clear Scraps piece to my layout. There's also a hidden staple to further keep it attached.

Americana Crafts with DW and Stampendous!

Hello! I have a Dreamweaver and Stampendous! project to share with you today. All week long, the Stampendous! team has been sharing projects with a patriotic theme. So here's my take. I made a scrapbook page of my cute kidlings! They were making Americana themed crafts at Michaels. I was of course inspired by the adorable Patriotic Painters  and thought they worked really well with my photo. I colored the image with my Tombow watercolor markers. Now...how much Dreamweaver do you see in my layout? I used the Amsterdam Flourish  in 2 spots on my page. I applied the image with my white embossing paste , and then I sprinkled on some beautiful holographic silver glitter on top while it was still wet. But wait! There's more! My title was made with Dreamweaver's Dual Alphabet Dies . As you can see, I used both the positive and negative space for the title. I love that this set is so versatile. My title is a spin on a scrapbooking company that I used to sell in my store

Polka Dots: Wicked Wednesday #157

Greetings! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday challenge. The theme this week is Lots of Polka Dots, and we are sponsored by Just Some Lines . I used Emo Amber- Easter for my ATC. Again, our challenge is Lots of Polka Dots, so I made sure that my background papers had dots, and I added dots to her dress as well. I colored her with my Tombow watercolor markers. Isn't she cheery? And who doesn't love polka dots? I hope you'll play along with us this week! Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Wednesday gals! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
