Secret Sister Card: Day 23 of 31 Days of Halloween & SBS Day 7 of 12

Hello! How did you like the hop from yesterday? Good luck to all of you that hopped and have the chance at winning those great prizes! One of the Facebook groups I’m in decided to have a Secret Sister Halloween/Fall Swap. We were to make or alter something for our Secret Sister in either the theme of Halloween or Fall. My SS chose Halloween, which was great with me! I made her a card using Beatrix the Witch from Simply Betty Stamps (and a pendant which you will see another day).

Beatrix is one of my all time favorite SBS images, as she is part of the Steampunk Halloween collection (which you have all read me rave about). Today is Day 7 of the SBS 12 Days of Halloween..the theme is “7 Pumpkins Glowing.” Beatrix’s pumpkins certainly are glowing!

I colored her with my pencils, keeping her colors pale and soft. She just doesn't “look” (in my mind’s eye) like she should be wearing black or some other dark color. Though I do plan on giving it a go one of these days.

My Secret Sister said that she loved the card, which made me very happy. It’s not a “typical” Halloween card…I made it to appear like it was more for Samhain, which she celebrates.
How are you liking the SBS 12 Days of Halloween? There have been some awesome projects created not only by the DT, but the participants as well! Thanks to all of you that are playing along. Remember, all of the Wicked Bloggers are listed in my side bar. Thank you so much for visiting me again. Have a spook-tacular day!

Mediterranean Dreams Shaker

Hello! Today I have a card that features the Mediterranean Dreams Subscription Kit from White Rose Crafts.  This fabulous Subscription Kit brings together sparkling, azure Mediterranean seas, sun-bleached shores and the rich colors of vibrant Mediterranean cultures in a carefully curated kit. I knew I just had to try the Jillibean Soup shaker card and I chose to use one of the stamps (from Kaisercraft) to make my background. I stamped the seashell with Tea Dye Distress Oxide all over the background of the card. Then I applied some Walnut Stain Distress Oxide to my craft mat, spritzed it with some water, and splattered it on to my card base. Last, I inked the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide with a Mini Blending Brush. For my sentiment, I die cut a stitched rectangle from my stash, out of the pearly yellow cardstock that came in the kit and stamped it with "Wish You Were Here" stamp from the same "Summer Splash" stamp set, with StazOn Pigment ink. Our Favorites: ADfD Blog Hop

***Sorry for the late posting....Blogger doesn't always play nice! Today is the first day of our  ADFD Blog Hop  - a celebration of all of the beautiful images Tammy has created over the years. Echo Park Blog Hop with Imagine

Greetings! This is my second post for the day. This one is not part of the 31 Days of Halloween, but rather a super-duper blog hop that the Artists in Residence for Imagine are doing with Echo Park . So if you're here for my Day 7 project, please check out the post HERE . But before you do that, scroll on to check out this one. There are prizes up for grabs, so be sure to check out the Imagine Blog as well as the Echo Park Blogs for details. I created my background by applying Dandelion and Tangelo Memento Ink to my brayer. Then I sprayed it with Ink Potion No. 9 to help the colors blend and to act as an extender to keep the inks wet longer. After I rolled the colors out on to watercolor paper and let it dry, I stamped the lovely doily-like image from Echo Park's Simply Sweet Stamp Set with Grape Jelly Memento. I also received the super pretty Heart Doily Designer Die  which I used with a true purple cardstock. But it needed something....and in rolls the super fabul...
