Black & White with Aurora Wings

Hello! It's time for a new challenge with Aurora Wings. This month, we challenge you to create a black and white project, with or without a splash of color. I happen to love coloring in images in grayscale, so this was really inspiring for me. I decided to work with Mitzi's Jasmine Sprite. You can shop for here using these links: PNG File on Main Website JPEG on Main Website Etsy Shop Here's a look at my card.

DICC #37: Sponsored by Doodle Garden

I cannot believe it. It is officially September 1st. Summer is over, my kids ( plural! ) are going to be going to school soon. And I will be at home crying. Literally. Thank goodness my daughter only goes in two times a week! Yeah, the quiet time will be nice for me, but man ! I am going to miss my babies so much! So since it is the first of the month, I have a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge to share with you. This itinerary was created by Suzi. We have been sponsored by Doodle Garden this time around. Plaid/Tartan Books Pens & Pencils - as embellishments or to colour with!! Alphabet Numbers Apple for the Teacher Something New  Let's Play Anything but a Card Bright Colours  I used numbers 3, 4, 6, 7, and 10. I made this for my Girl. I know she will love it. DICC #35 with Mayzy Art

Happy August! It's time for a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge . And this time, we are sponsored by Mayzy Art . I had a very hard time choosing an image to work with, because there are SO many and they are all fabulous! Also, this itinerary has been created by our very own Trudie. Here it is. 1. Stripes 2. Spots 3. Flag/Bunting 4. Red 5. Sprays/Mists 6. Layers 7. Texture 8. Humor 9. Background Image 10. Something that Moves I went with Fairy Meri. She is so pretty, and I loved her outfit and wings. I used numbers 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10. I went with a skin tone that I don't use too often, but I love. I thought it really suited her. I colored her completely with my pencils. And I added some very pretty glitter to her wings for texture. I was thrilled to find my paper. It perfectly matched the way I colored Meri, and it almost looked like she was camouflaged when I added her on. Which, I have found, fairies often prefer to be. So I pop dotted ...

Kenny K Design Team Call

I very recently went from being on four design teams, to being on only 2. At one point, I was on 5! There was always one team in particular that I wanted to be on, but the timing wasn't right, or I already had enough on my plate. But, the stars have (hopefully) aligned themselves. I am trying out for the Kenny K Design team. Today, I am sharing not only a new Kenny K project, but a few of my favorites from the past. I hope you enjoy them all! I just finished this card for the latest Kenny K Challenge which is Pearls. I used Allura Von D (who is my favorite Kenny K gurl that I have. I used my usual mix of watercolor markers and Copics to color her in. I, of course, had to give her some teal hair in the front to match mine. I used some foiled paper (the one with the kisses) and a couple of other funky patterns. I stamped the sentiment with a Just Rite stamper, and my pears are Liquid Pearls in Platinum from Ranger. Can I just say that I really, really want her boots! Di...

Just For Fun Doctor Brittany

Hello! It's Preview Day 2 for the newest Jude and the Rockers collection from Simply B Stamps ! You're going to love today's cutie! And if you have little ones at home, I am quite sure you've seen them doing this very thing...Say Hello to Doctor Brittany! My little Rhiannon was giving us all check ups just the other day! Isn't this sweet? Now, I just need to take pics of her doing it so that I can make a scrapbook page! I used my dynamic duo of watercolor markers and Copics for this little beauty. My sentiment is from Inkandinkado. Hard to tell in this photo, but I glitter embossed around the edge of the image. Also around the edge of the green cardstock. This was another fun image to color...but really, when is it not fun to color?!? We will have more previews for the rest of the week, and then a fabulous blog hop on Friday! You don't want to miss a day, so please be sure to visit again. And, please hop over to the SBS Blog to see what the rest of...

Chef Ariel: Jude and the Rockers Just For Fun!

Greetings! It's time for a new collection from Simply B Stamps ! You know the drill, we are going to preview one new image every day this week, and then on Friday, we will have a fun Blog Hop to celebrate this new release! This collection is from the Jude and the Rockers series, and it's called Just for Fun. You are going to love these images! Today, we are sharing Chef Ariel with you. I always love to color in the images of Ariel. I think it's all about those cool glasses for me! I asked Phoenix for a little advice when it came to coloring the cake. I really didn't want to do white. So He told me his color choices, and I went with them! Doesn't it look yummy? I used some super cheery and sorbet-colored papers from K and Co. Plus a border punch (that I used on both sides of my border) from EK Success. Here's a close up of Ariel's glasses. I always color the face an eyes as I normally would, but then I go over the specs with a pale blue. Just to g...

Simply B Challenges: Spritz, Paint & Mask

Welcome to the newest Simply B Stamps challenge! This one was SO up my alley! I really hope you’ll play along. This month we challenge you to…. SPRITZ, MASK & PAINT We want to see you get out your sprays, mists, masks or paints to make your project!  Let's get messy! Totally fun, right??? My fingers were pretty well inked by the time I finished this card. Just the way I like it! It makes me feel like I’ve really done something cool. And I hope you’ll agree! I used the lovely Romance Grace from the Valentine Steampunk collection (not to bee confused with the Teen Scene Steampunk Valentine collection). I colored her with watercolor markers and Copics…then I got inky. I dug out some Glimmer Screens and sprays from Tattered Angels, chalk, ink pads, and Stickles. Plus some pearls and cogs. There are a ton of layers here…I hope you can see the image that I actually put on top of Grace. I used a compass with Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist. Subtle, but just what I needed to give t...

SBS Hop! Featuring Big Love Gun Lola

It’s finally release day! I am sure that many of you have been counting down to today so that you can snag the new Simply B Stamps Teen Scene Steampunk Valentine collection. I am really excited about today, because not only are we doing a blog hop, but it’s featuring my favorite image from this new collection! I’d like to introduce you to Big Love Gun Lola. She is just too damn cool, if you ask me! I’ve had her colored up for so long, I have been itching to share her with you. Lola is ready to defend her love for you. That’s why I used the words “huggable heroine” for my sentiment.   I colored her in using a mix of watercolor markers and Copics. I just love doing Lola’s hair. Especially this time around. Please click on any of my pictures to see them bigger. I used some more of the gears from the wonderful stash my Dad gave me so very long ago (I first mentioned this wonderful mix of goodies during the latest Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop . I attached them using Glossy Acc...

SBS Teen Scene Valentine Preview: Rio

Happy New Year! After taking a few days off from bloggyland, I am back and I am going to share a card made with one of the latest Simply B Stamps . This latest collection is the Teen Scene Valentine. And it’s all about love and steampunk! Which, you probably know I adore steampunk. What’s funny, is that my Mom is the one who told me about it a couple of years ago. She loves it even more than me, I think! But enough about me…here is “A Heart for You Rio.” I love her birdie friend! He is supposed to be a raven, but I thought that I needed some blue on the card. I colored the image with my watercolor markers and my Copics (I officially own a whopping 10 Copics now!). I added the gears in the background by using a Tim Holtz screen and Distress ink. I added a few rhinestones for some sparkle, and a couple of punched cogs. My sentiment is from K and Co. I’ll be back tomorrow with another sneaky peek from this sweet and funky new line. Be sure to visit the SBS Blog to see what the ...

Secret Sister Card: Day 23 of 31 Days of Halloween & SBS Day 7 of 12

Hello! How did you like the hop from yesterday? Good luck to all of you that hopped and have the chance at winning those great prizes! One of the Facebook groups I’m in decided to have a Secret Sister Halloween/Fall Swap. We were to make or alter something for our Secret Sister in either the theme of Halloween or Fall. My SS chose Halloween, which was great with me! I made her a card using Beatrix the Witch from Simply Betty Stamps (and a pendant which you will see another day). Beatrix is one of my all time favorite SBS images, as she is part of the Steampunk Halloween collection (which you have all read me rave about). Today is Day 7 of the SBS 12 Days of Halloween ..the theme is “7 Pumpkins Glowing.” Beatrix’s pumpkins certainly are glowing! I colored her with my pencils, keeping her colors pale and soft. She just doesn't “look” (in my mind’s eye) like she should be wearing black or some other dark color. Though I do plan on giving it a go one of these days. My Secret ...

Steampunk Halloween Release!

Squee!!! It’s release day for Simply Betty Stamps’ Steampunk Halloween collection! Best SBS collection EVER! I have 3 more creations to share with you today, so let’s get started! This is Druscilla. Isn’t she an elegant demon? Perhaps an older version of Simi for al you Dark Hunter fans out there? I love her gown, and her horns, her wings…well…all of her really! This was another project that Phoenix assisted on. He chose the colors I used. And I think he picked a great combination! You’ll notice I broke out my Heidi Swapp bat masks again…just love ‘em! I also sprinkled some fabulously chunky gold glitter around the bottom of Druscilla’s gown. Now let’s move on to Lydia, the Living Dead Girl. Ooh, she’s a fun one…trust me! So she’s dead. Big deal…Don’t you wanna party with her? I used the latest Deconstructed Sketch for my layout. And I gave it a funky 80’s twist. I really want her dress for myself! I fashioned her kitty after one of my mom’s..she can be as creepy as thi...
