Alison the Witch: Day 8 of 31 Days of Halloween

A few months ago, I was extremely lucky, as I won the opportunity to inspire a custom digi for Christy Croll of Tiddly Inks to create. After a lot of thinking, I knew she had to look like some of the  Gothic girls that she already has…as I adore them. And I wanted her to be a witch. But she needed a familiar…and a very cool dress…so after collaborating, and Christy’s ability to envision what I was seeing in my head, she created Alison the Witch. You may have seen her before.. I have had her on my blog of course, and after that initial showing here…many folks needed to have her as their own (blushing with pride). She’s perfect. I love her. Here’s my latest creation with her…

Pink-Alison-1

Isn’t she awesome??? Like the layout? It’s the newest Deconstructed Sketch. I like it a lot. Plus, over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog, this week, you are to use paint on your creation. The pink around the edge of the card, and the dark teal on my teal triangle is done with acrylic paint.

Pink-Alison-2

I colored Alison in with…wait for it…my…PENCILS!!! Ooh, it felt SO good to work with them again! I love my markers…but I can’t get enough of my pencils. And they have been so neglected lately. Please click on this (or any other) pic for a closer look. My husband really loves how she came out. He kept telling me…which makes me feel thrilled!

Pink-Alison-3

The color’s a little off here…but you get the idea in the other 2 photos. Now, wouldn’t you like to have Alison the Witch in your own digi collection??? You can buy her HERE.  Hmmm…her familiar kinda looks like Alex’s Edgar huh? ;)

It’s time for you to keep on hopping! Be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers. They are all posted on my sidebar. I hope you like my Day 8 project. Thank you for stopping by. Have a spook-tacular day!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
