31 Days of Halloween: Day 2

I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am about today’s post!!! First it is my 300th post! That alone is cause enough for celebration! And once again, I need to thank Margie for urging me to start this blog! Thanks, Love!!!

Second, I am using a brand spankin’ new digi from a brand spankin’ new company. Strange Skin.

strange skin badge

Strange Skin is super duper important to me because it is my sister Pamela and her boyfriend Jorge’s company. Wanna get inspired for Halloween??? Or really, if you're like me...any ole day of the year, then check their stuff out! It’s amazing! These digis just came out yesterday and they are available for sale ONLY through their shop! Click HERE to visit it! And here is just one of the reasons I love their digis so much! This is my favorite image that they have created so far!

Bride-Cameo-1

This is the Bride of Frankenstein from their creep-tastic Cameo Collection. Seriously, I am obsessed with this image. I think I may need to hang this card up i my craft room! Here’s a close upso that you can REALLY see how sick she is!

Bride-Cameo-2

See what I mean??? LOVE. HER. Please click on any of the pictures to see it bigger! She is colored in with my colored pencils. And I gotta say, I give myself a pat on the back for this one. I am thrilled with how it came out. I worked on her for a looong time, but it was SO worth it!

Bride-Cameo-3

I wanted to give this card an elegant yet creepy feel. So, I went with the Damask print from Basic Grey, and I went with a layout that I thought was simple and understated. But then I started to have even more fun! I stamped those fabulous stitches (Stampers Anonymous) onto pre-distressed cardstock (also Basic Grey), and added the extra strip of cross hatch paper (guess who? Yup, Basic grey again! But they are from all different collections). I added the screw brads (Karen Foster Designs), and Moss green and Prussian Blue ink (Color Box) to the edges of the card. Topped with Judi Kins’ Amazing Glaze in some spots for dimension and shine.

Bride-Cameo-4

See it in the corner? Love that stuff! Oh! And I distressed the edge of the Cameo with my Edge Distresser from Heidi Swapp. And there you have it. I really love this image, and I hope you visit Strange Skin to see what other sick images they have available. There’s a lot there!!!

And guess what??? If you play along with this month’s Sketch Challenge over at Smeared & Smudged, you have a chance at winning the ENTIRE Cameo Collection!!! That’s 5 amazing digis!!! Ok…Wanna see them all???

Now, after you leave me a little bit o’ love and you visit my Sistah’s shoppe…please visit the rest of the 31 Days Wicked Bloggers! You will find the entire fabulous list on my sidebar! Have an inspiring day!!!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
