Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Greetings! It's time for the June Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blends Release Hop! There are 6 glorious new Sparkle Blends, and the Designer Divas are going to be sharing projects using them. Be sure to head over to the Doodles Paper Playground Blog to get all of the details on the new Sparkle Blends and the hop info. My card today uses the gorgeous and seriously magical Unicorn Dreams . I started off with a scrap piece of Rainbow Shattered Glass DecoFoil from Therm O Web. I had already applied it to a piece of cardstock with double sided sheet tape. I stamped my butterfly (from Stampendous' Cling Lilac stamp set) with StazOn Pigment ink in Piano Black and then used the coordinating die cut on it. Because the butterfly was all turquoise, Unicorn Dreams was really the perfect Blend for my shaker. Look at those fabulous colors in Unicorn Dreams! Hello! Welcome to my blog. If you're new, my name is Alison. If you're not, thanks for coming back! Today I am sharing a card that I created for the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop . This is such a fun hop with a ton of participants and sponsors, so I am excited to be joining in. My card features stamps from Ink Road . I just had to use the Inked Girl "Alison." Yup, she was named after me. Lara (the owner of Ink Road) has the coolest naming contests all the time. It is so cool to have a product named after you! I colored her up with Zig Clean Color Markers. My background was done with one of the stamps from my favorite Ink Road set, called Mug Life . I stamped all of the coffee cups with Iced Spruce Distress Oxide. Then, I applied some of the same ink to my palette, and used a brush and water to add shading to the cups. I love this tonal effect. Hello and welcome to the November Get Kids Crafty Blog Hop! This month, our theme is Christmas. When I mentioned the theme to my daughter, she knew what she wanted to make right away. Rhiannon loves everything unicorn. She's like her Mom! We found this unicorn stamp with coordinating die at Michaels from their Recollections brand. She thought this would be the perfect focal for a magical Christmas card. She colored her unicorn with Memento markers from Imagine and a gold metallic marker from Spectrum Noir. She die cut the unicorn, then a couple of Fitted Frames from Stampendous to use as mats. To add more sparkle and magic, Rhiannon added some sequins from Doodles Paper Playground. Hello crafty peeps! I am really excited to share today's project with you. It's for the September Get Kids Crafty Blog hop, and our theme is...wait for it....Halloween! It's the most wonderful time of year, and my daughter and I were really stoked to make this project together. Miss R really wanted to make some kind of decoration instead of a card, so we decided to make a banner together. I have an old Sizzix banner die set that cuts out different parts of banners so that it is extremely customizable. She went through my Halloween papers, and of course fell in love with some glitter cardstock from an older Martha Stewart paper pad. Then she decided that she wanted a purple background and green letters for her "Boo." Knowing that the word is only 3 letters long, we thought that it needed to have at least 2 more sections, so we grabbed the Framed Witch Metal Stencil from Stampendous. Hello! It's time for the June Get Kids Crafty Blog Hop! This month's theme is "Dinosaurs." Beth, from Beth Duff Designs was once again very generous, and let us use her Rawrsome digital stamp set for this hop. My daughter and I each made a card for the hop. Here's mine... I decided to go with pastel dinos because, why not? I usually see them in earth tones, so I wanted to shake things up a bit. I colored them with Zig Clean Color Markers. I also used a Tim Holtz Stencil with some Distress Oxide Inks for my background. Here's my daughter's card. She went with the bold colors of Memento Markers. I especially love her rainbow dinosaur! And I think it is hilarious that she has one dino riding the back of another. The inside has the rest of the dinosaurs. I love her card. Her script (which she is so proud of), her misspelling of "birthday" because she was concentrating so hard on her script, the way she colored all of the dinosaurs...e...

Greetings! It's my second Blog Hop this week! This is a super special one because it is for Get Kids Crafty , which is a super important topic for me. I think it is extremely important to get kids to create things and to let them play with our tools, supplies, and to teach them what we know as crafters to help them develop into little artists. My daughter (Miss R) is participating in this hop, which has the theme of "Ocean." She used one of the Manatees and shells from Beth Duff Designs' Manatee stamp set. In addition to coloring the 2 stamped images with Memento Markers from Imagine, she also did a number of other techniques. Miss R made her background with Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers. She applied them with an inking tool and spritzed the inks with Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle to not only oxidize the inks, but to give the background a pretty shimmer.
