Jingle All the Way with Sparkle Blends

Hello again! I've got a new shaker card to share with you today that features one of the newest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. This beautiful combo is called Very Cranberry and it is perfect for Fall and Holiday cards (way more than that too...but that's what first came to mind when I saw it). It's got reds and browns with bits of gold. There's sequins, micro beads, mini gems, and even glitter sequins! It's a luxe mix that's just gorgeous.

I used an adorable reindeer from Mama Elephant (via Hampton Art) called Reindeer Fun. There's a bunch of little reindeer in the set (comes with the dies too!) but I opted to just go for the jumping image. I colored them with my Zig Clean Color Markers. I took a piece for Neenah Desert Storm cardstock for my top layer and die cut a scalloped circle from Stampendous' Build a Wreath Die Set. This will be the shaker area. I inked the edges of the top layer with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and splattered some water on to it for some visual interest. I also added my sentiment, which I curved around the circle.

On my card base, I stenciled the Petals Background with Brown Shimmer Delicata Ink from Imagine. I usually like to have something happening in the backgrounds of my shakers so that if and when the mix settles to the bottom, it's not just a vast space of white (or any other color). The Delicata ink has the pretties shimmer of any ink I've seen, so it really pops even though it is brown ink on brown cardstock. I used craft foam on my top layer to secure the Sparkle Blend.

I added a good amount of the Very Cranberry to the shaker area, and I still have a ton left! You get so much bang for our buck with Sparkle Blends.

This card is fun and festive and came together quickly. I love these little reindeer and I look forward to using the rest of them. I may wind up running out of Very Cranberry soon, because I really like this card design! Please visit White Rose Crafts LLC to see all of the Sparkle Blends that are currently available. They are all limited edition, so once they're gone, they're gone for good. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
