Skull Appreciation Day!!!

It’s Skull Appreciation Day! It all started at a little blog called Skull A Day. Here’s what they wrote about this new international holiday: “We here at Skull-A-Day have decided that there needs to be an official international day of cranial love! To that end we're starting a campaign to get June 4th (the day Skull-A-Day started) officially recognized as Skull Appreciation Day around the world in 2011, and of course to get as many people celebrating it as possible.”

So, the members at Smeared & Smudged (Thanks Steph for starting it all!) decided it would be fun to do a massive member blog hop. And I do mean massive! We have 37 people in our hop today! That alone is cause for celebration! I think it’s awesome that so many folks have come together for such a unique day…all creating something fabulous and…well…skully! You should be coming to me from Tori’s blog. But if not…go back to the beginning at Terra’s blog (which has ALL the info on the hop). I will have the entire hop list at the bottom of my post though. We have many amazing sponsors for this hop, so please be sure to stop by everyone’s blog…or you might miss out on some great prizes!

I immediately knew I wanted to do something cool with the Sugar Skulls stamps from Bombshell. I adore this set, and I really wanted to do something over the top. I think I may have succeeded in that! Phoenix has a shirt that he loves that has a mess of Sugar Skulls on it. He looks pretty rad in it too. So I thought it would be fun to make a scrapbook page…with him wearing his shirt…with the Sugar Skulls from Bombshell on it. And what’s more…let’s make it a family project! I wanted the kids to break out their Crayolas and color the skulls with me! Here’s what we came up with!

This really was a lot of fun! Quite a bit of work…but fun. Meaningful too, since both of my kidlings helped me with it!

Isn’t he handsome??? You can click on any of the pictures to see them bigger. Take a look at Phoenix’s shirt. All of the skulls grouped together, except for one that has fallen to the bottom of the shirt! Hilarious!

Most of the Sugar Skulls were colored by Phoenix. But Rhiannon and I did our fair share of them too! We really enjoyed ourselves. And I look forward to scrapbooking with them more in the near future.

I hope you liked my page! Thank you for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of the hop. Have a skully inspiring day!!!

Glad to celebrate Skully day! I'm very appreciative of my skull, particularly since I'm very clumsy and it regularly keeps my brain from getting smooshed. Thanks for being in the hop!

Our Favorites: ADfD Blog Hop

***Sorry for the late posting....Blogger doesn't always play nice! Today is the first day of our  ADFD Blog Hop  - a celebration of all of the beautiful images Tammy has created over the years. As a special surprise for Tammy, we have a combination of current and former DT members participating in the hop. Her inspiring art and generous heart have touched us all. We want to take a moment to show our gratitude and thank Tammy for the blessings and joys we have received as members of the ADFD DT. Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
