Special Wednesday Challenge – Club Scrap!

So last week TTIC had it’s first special collaboration with Club Scrap. Well, it’s Wednesday again, so it’s time for the second challenge! Here’s what my Book Buddy Beth wrote:

We’re back with another special Wednesday challenge! This is our second challenge sponsored by Club Scrap. For today’s challenge, Club Scrap has generously provided members of our Design Team with their Elegant 5×7 Expandable File kits, as well as their Geared Up Photo Flag book kits. You can see the kits, and shop online, at Club Scrap’s site.

And today, we’re changing it up a bit – we’re doing an Anything But A Card challenge! It is pretty self explanatory, and will definitely make you think outside of the box! Try and go in a direction you wouldn’t normally. Additonally, we are using the Men & Women of Twilight as the theme or or non-cards. We know the men love their vehicles, and the Cullen women love their couture, and finer things. Take that and run! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Visit the Design Team and Guest Designers to see what we have created with these great kits:

Here’s what was included in my kit, which was the Geared Up kit:

Bella's Lullaby 010 See the black cardstock? It’s made up of tiny, old advertisements! What’s super-cool though is this… See where it says Garden City Hotel? That actual hotel is one town away from me! I stayed there on my Wedding Night! I thought it was SO cool that it was an ad for a real place, and a place that I see all the time! Random but so rad!

So, this kit was originally intended to be a book kit. I decided not to make it into a book, even though I think the concept is great. It’s supposed to have pages that flip, so instead, I chose to make a layout that has flipable mini pages on it, so you can get lots of photos on one page.

Bella's Lullaby 011 For this challenge we were allowed to add embellishments, but I decided I didn’t want to. I thought that it would detract from the really awesome gear paper and ads so I only added the photos, some of the Artful INKables stamps, and grey cardstock in 2 shades. I hand drew the title (in true Twi-font of course!) , and added in some photos of the boys.

Bella's Lullaby 012 I’ve got to say, I had a heck of a time with this project. Once I finally decided what I was going to create, finding the right photos of the Twi-Guys was nearly impossible! I really wanted to use these pics I had seen once with them all in suits… I was only able to find Rob’s pic though. Then they all printed wrong… blah blah blah. But I think my layout concept worked out really well. Here are some other shots.

Bella's Lullaby 013 See? Kellan and Taylor’s head’s got cut… No idea why my print wizard does that…

Bella's Lullaby 014 This photo is from the series of pictures I was originally looking for. I liked the idea of the boys being dressed up, and then using this macho gear paper along with the fancy clothes they were wearing. But, the other photos I found work too.

Bella's Lullaby 015 You can see that on each of the little mattes I stamped with Artful INKables stamps, just for a little extra something.

The main photo is the only one that they’re not all dressed up, but I couldn’t find a more complete guy group shot. I know, Carlisle isn’t in the photo… but I think that pic is hilarious!

So there ya go! A big “Thank You!” to Club Scrap for collaborating with TTIC! We love you!

FABULOUS!!! I love the idea of the mini flip book on the scrapbook page. The pictures you used were HOT and I love how you used all the different elements to creat this page, even down to the ribbon around the red printed paper. Wonderful job!

Oh my -- the mini flip-book! That is so clever! What an awesome job you did with this! And I also find that working with photos (which I do really often with Twilight projects) is a lot harder than you would think it would be.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
