TTIC #59: Sparkle!

It is the first Tuesday of the year, which means it’s time for the first Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge for 2010!!! This challenge was created by Margie, and I am in LOVE with it! Here’s what she wrote: Let’s start the New Year with a bit of Sparkle! Create a project using something that sparkles or shines - glitter, bling, etc. Comment: Share your inspiring resolutions for the New Year! I’d like to make a lil announcement to let you all know that… Jodi Ann of Inked Inspirations has joined the Twilight Tuesday Design Team!!! Please stop by and give her a big Twilight-y welcome! Welcome Jodi!!! Well, you don’t have to tell me twice! I love all things sparkly!!! First, I have to say, this is the toughest card I have ever had to photograph! Why? Take a peek at the black-ish looking cardstock. That’s actually a pewter mirror finish stock! See my hand in the reflection? Here’s a different view so you can see what I’m talking about… Like I said… not easy to photograph!!! But what...

TTIC #58: A Twilight Christmas

Greetings! It’s Tuesday, so it is time for another Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge! Here is what my darling friend Margie (who I actually have met!!!) wrote this week: “It’s time for our last challenge for 2009… We have had a wonderful year here at Twilight Tuesday and we are looking forward to having another fun, crafty and adventurous Twilight-y year with all of you in 2010!” This week’s challenge is “A Twilight Christmas” Create any Twilight themed holiday project. Comment: What is something that you are leaving behind in the old year and what are you looking forward to in the new year??? Cool! So here’s what I created: Please click on the photos to see them bigger! Obviously, the cardinal stamp is the focus. It’s from Inkadinkado and I just love it. Cardinals are one of my fave birds… I embossed him with cherry red powder from Gel-A-Tins, inked the edges in Quicksilver and pop dotted him. I used a clear stamp from Fancy Pants in the background and embossed it with UTEE in...

TTIC #57 Celebrate!

Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge !!! This week our latest exciting challenge is brought to us by our Design Team Leader, Margie. Who, without her, I may have never even found out about TTIC! Here’s what she wrote: "I don't know about you guys, but I'm still celebrating the release of New Moon! and my b'day is in a few days! So I'm in the mood to keep on celebrating it all right into the New Year! " Challenge: Create a "Celebrating" project for the vampire-lover in your life! It can be any Holiday - birthday, Christmas, Valentine's, etc. Have a ton of fun with this one and don't hold back! Comment: There's no denying that we all have wish lists, especially with the holiday season on us! Some of our lists are a little more practical than others... Please share with us with what is on your "not-so-practical" wish list??? I decided to make a Birthday card. I have a number of those to do thi...

TTIC #56 Your New Moon Experience Part 2

Wowie! Did this past week just fly by for you or was it just me??? I had a great Thanksgiving (I think the food this year topped ALL other years!!!), and then the babies and I came down with this nasty cold that we are still fighting… But it’s on the outs so I’m hoping we’ll be back to normal within a day or so. But let’s get to the topic you visited me for shall we??? It’s Twilight Tuesday time! We are finishing up Your New Moon Experience this week. Here’s what I wrote (that’s right… my challenge! Gosh, that never gets old!!!) on TTIC: Happy Tuesday Twilighters! So, have you seen it? How many times??? I know some of you have gone 2 or 3 times already! Now, the most important question… Did you take pictures???? If so, then join us in making a layout of your New Moon Experience! If you didn’t, that’s ok! Scrap your ticket stubs, journal about the evening’s events, etc! Just have fun with it! Even if you haven’t scrapped before, join in! We can’t wait to see what you make and read abo...

TTIC #55 Monochromatic Color Challenge

Happy Tuesday! Just a couple more days until New Moon is theatres!!! Are you as excited as I am??? There are a TON of awesome things happening over at Twilight Tuesday . If you’re a Twi-fan… them you are going to LOVE what’s coming up! But first, this week’s challenge… thought up by sweet Eve. She asked us to create a monochromatic card using a Twilight inspired color. I actually thought that this was a pretty tough challenge for me. I never work monochromatically. I love mixing colors together way too much! But I’ve gotta say, it really came together quite nicely! Here’s my card: I had colored this fantabulous digi (Yes folks, I have tip-toed in to the digi world. Shhh! Don’t tell anyone I’m here!!!) from The Greeting Farm last week. I saw him and just HAD to color him! I mixed my own pearly paint using acrylic (Ceramcoat) and shimmer powder (Jacquard). The consistency of the paint is a little off, but I’m working on fixing it. Then it was all about the colored pencils! I love how ...

TTIC#54 The Raven

Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge. I am SO in love with this challenge… if I have time, I may have to make some other cards to go along with it. So what’s it about this week? It’s Rebecca’s turn and here is what she wrote: Hey Twerds and Twihards! Its me { Rebecca } bringing you this week’s challenge! In New Moon, we really get to know more about the “pack” and some of the Quileute traditions. In Quileute legend, the Raven is the trickster figure in Quileute Indian culture. His name is pronounced similar to bah-yuck in Quileute. (I found that tidbit somewhere on the internet!) Raven is a shapechanger, who could assume any form – human or animal. The Raven is a clever and generally benign figure who sometimes helps humankind, but he also has many character traits that are viewed negatively in Quileute culture (greed, laziness, arrogance, deceitfulness, and rudeness) and many traditional legends have to do with Raven misbehaving and getting into ...

TTIC# 53: The Transformation

It’s Tuesday again! And this isn’t just any Tuesday… it’s the Tuesday that I get to pick the next Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge !!! Do you have any idea how excited I am?!?!?! Here is my challenge… I am so excited to be bringing you my second challenge! This one is a little different, because you get the opportunity to make yourself the subject! Spoiler alert! Don't continue reading if you haven't finished the Twilight Saga!!! In Breaking Dawn, Bella transforms from human to vampire. In life, we all go through changes...though not as severe as Bella's! What kind of changes have you physically gone through? Cut off all your hair? Dye it blue (like me?)? Nose job? Pregnancy? Lost a lot of weight? We just celebrated Halloween... did you or someone you know wear a costume that transformed them to being unrecognizable? Craft Challenge : Create something that narrates a physical change you've gone through Comment Challenge : Tell us about your change, or a change...

Twilight Tuesday Anniversary Blog Hop

Happy Anniversary to Twilight Tuesday ! I have been actively participating in the Twilight Tuesday Challenges since challenge #24: Carlisle Cullen. That was before I even had a blog!!! Well, for this very special week, we are doing a huge blog hop, filled with wonderful cards, layouts, and surprises! Make sure you show some love to all of the participants! The hop will start and end at Twilight Tuesday . If you’re already on the hop, you should have come from Dani’s blog. For the hop I decided to revisit one of my favorite challenges, #29, BFF’s Jacob and Bella. We were to make a project celebrating our best friend (or Jake and Bella’s relationship). I made a layout that I have wanted to make for quite some time now. I’ve had the pictures printed and everything… well, I finally got to make it! It’s not a crazy layout like I sometimes make… I didn’t spend hours pondering what the heck I was gonna do with it… I wanted to focus on the photos… and it just kinda fell in to place. Dontcha...

TTIC #51 Edward Cullen

Happy Tuesday! There’s another great Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge for you to participate in! This week we are focusing on none other than Edward himself! The super talented Jen came up with this one, and here it is! It's time to focus on Edward. Even though the stories are told from Bella's point of view all of the books with the exception of Breaking Dawn focus almost entirely on Edward, through Bella's mind. Even in New Moon when Edward is gone her every action is focused on not losing her connection with him. So for this challenge I want you to focus on your connection to Edward. What does his character mean to you? For the creative challenge: Create a project that focuses on Edward. For the comment portion: How do you feel about Edward's character? Is it like, love or disdain? Have you read the partial draft of Midnight Sun? What did you think about reading the story from his point of view? This week, I decided to combine the Edward challenge with the Twi...

Twilight Challenge #50: Charlie

Hello fellow Twi-Hards! It’s Tuesday again, so it’s time for another FANG-tastic Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge! This week’s challenge was created by My darling Aussie friend Donna. Here’s what she wrote: “One of the best things about Charlie is that he doesn’t hover.” This has to be one of the most memorable lines from both Twilight the novel and Twilight the movie… Let’s face it, we all love Charlie….. And Stephanie describes this quite and thoughtful man’s personality and temperament in this one single sentence. But as we all know his relationship with Bella changes from starting out as strangers thrown together in an awkward situation and slowly grows into a bond that any father and daughter would be envious of. So, this week my challenge to you is simple… Craft Portion: Create a project that represents Charlie’s and Bella’s relationship or a relationship you have with a ‘father’ figure in your life. Comment Portion: Tell us about your relationship with a ‘father’ fig...

Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #49 Home

It’s Tuesday again! Which could only mean one thing… it’s time for another Twilight Tuesday challenge!!! This week’s challenge comes from Erica: Throughout the series Bella discusses a lot of homes. She spends a lot of time at home, maybe not her home, but if the saying is true, it is home to her. This challenge is pretty simple. Make a craft based on either a home discussed in the series or what means home to you. Here are some of the houses discussed in the book... Charlie's house: unchanged since Renee moved out. I always remember her discussing the yellow cabinets in the kitchen. Kind of small, a sort of bachelor pad with a bit of an outdated woman's touch. Renee's homes The Cullen's house: Giant windows, open, white, three stories, a mix of modern and classic The house on Isle Esme Edward and Bella's cottage: my personal favorite, small, a mix of styles, stone floors, small garden, fireplace, think Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and of course you can't fo...

TTIC #48 Bond Between Brothers

Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another fantastic Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge! This week’s challenge is brought to us by Jacquie. Here’s the scoop: As New Moon movie release approaches we are seeing amazing pictures of the Wolfpack who become Jacob's Brothers. In New Moon the wolf pack play an important part in Jacob's life and the effect they have on the Quilute community. This also affects the Cullen family, they have a treaty with the Cullens and in time see that they all need to work together to rid Forks of the bad Vamps. This week we will be focusing on the Bond between brothers and how we apply that to our human lives. Women can lean on each other and we are strong all on our own but now and again we need that males presence as a brother, husband, best friend as a grounding force...as a safe place to be. We see that in Bella's need for Jacob. Craft Portion : Make something that refects brotherhood... Be inspired by the wolf pack, Edward and Jasper/Emmitt, eve...

Twilight Challenge #46: Motorcycles and Friendship

It’s Twilight Tuesday Challenge time again! This week, we have a challenge that I could write and scrap about for days… It’s brought to us by Dani and here is what she writes: Have you ever worked with someone and an unexpected friendship developed? In New Moon by Stephenie Meyer we watch such a friendship bloom between Bella and Jacob as they rebuild a pair of old motorcycles. I love seeing them change from good acquaintances to having a deep, loving friendship. I also love hearing about the motorcycles! There is just something them. While the Cullens had their fast cars, Bella and Jacob had their motorcycles! Now for the challenge of the week! The challenge portion: I am going to do something a little bit different today. You can choose between these 2 challenges: 1. Make a project involving motorcycles. or 2. Make a project that you work on with a friend. The comment portion: Again you can choose either of these 2 to comment on: 1. Tell us about any motorcycle experience you have! o...

Twilight Tuesday's Day Off

Hello all!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I just wanted to remind you that Twilight Tuesday is taking a week off from challenges, but we will be back next week with a new one for you! Meanwhile, I will try and get a post up of a TTIC sketch challenge later today. But in the meantime, please visit www.twilighttuesday.com to catch up on any challenges you may not have seen!

TTIC #45: Welcome Back, Margie & Name Your Challenge!

After almost being on a computer hiatus last week since my husband took off some days from work, I am back now with a new Twilight Tuesday Challenge! But first off, some completely AMAZING news!!!! The fantabulous girls at Twilight Tuesday have asked me, Donna and Jacquie to become PERMANENT designers for the team! Yes, I said permanent! Like…forever! I cried. I really did. No, you may not laugh. The girls in this group are so incredible, and I have had the absolute BEST time working with them. I did NOT want it to end. So when they asked me to stay… it was like…DUH! Does Edward love Bella??? Of course I want to be a PERMANENT Designer! So, to all of my Twi-Girls… I love you, you all rock my world and I am thrilled and honored to not only work with all of you, but to have you chics as my friends. Truly. I don’t know what I would do without all of you. But, before I make this entire post about me gushing about how happy I am (oh, don’t worry, I will be gushing in other posts!!!), here...

TTIC #44: It’s BOOKS That Brought us Together!

Hello again and welcome to another awesome Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge! This week our challenge was created by Rebecca, and she honed in on a topic that goes way beyond Twilight! She writes: Reading the Twilight saga books is what brought us all together …. so this week is really dedicated to books. I hadn’t stayed up all night reading anything in a very long time, yet that was exactly what I did with the books – I couldn’t put them down! Many of you have shared similar stories with me on that topic. Each of the books have their own sub-theme throughout the series. Wuthering Heights is discussed many times in Eclipse, in fact – bookstores have been reporting that their sales of Wuthering Heights were through the roof after Eclipse came out. Each book in the series was inspired by and loosely based on a different literary classic: Twilight on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice , New Moon on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet , Eclipse on Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights , ...

TTIC #43 A Love Song for Bella and Edward

It’s time for another Twilight Tuesday Challenge! This week, my Book Buddy Beth created it; and it’s a good one. Here’s what she wrote: I love music! I relate just about everything I hear in songs to something. I just breathe it in – I FEEL it! So my challenge is going to draw on that. I challenge you to think about the Saga as a whole, and then to decide in retrospect, what Edward and Bella’s song should be. It can be a song about a particular part of their relationship, or their journey as a whole. Be prepared to explain!! This IS a variation of a prior challenge, so I ask that you try and go in a different direction if you participated previously! This will take some thought before project ideas even come into play – I better go start studying my iPod now… Challenge Portion: Choose a song. Explain why it should be theirs. Share lyrics that are particularly poignant, if you can. Create a project scrapbook layout around this song. Comment Portion: Do you have a theme song? One that...
