TTIC Special Limited Supplies Challenge – Sponsored by Club Scrap

This is a new post from TTIC. I will be participating in next week’s challenge. Read on for today’s details!

We’re back with another special Wednesday challenge! Today we’ll be doing our first of two challenges sponsored by Club Scrap. (See below for information on next week’s second Club Scrap challenge.) For today’s challenge, Club Scrap has generously provided members of our Design Team with their Greetings to Go-From the Heart kits. You can see the kit, and shop online, at Club Scrap’s site.

And today, we’re changing it up a bit – we’re doing our first Limited Supplies Challenge! And we are really giving you a challenge today – no embellishments are permitted on this one. We’ll have to stretch ourselves a little bit! Here are the details:

Which items are acceptable to use?

Paper-related items:

Cardstock & designer paper

Stamps

Ink and other coloring mediums (markers, pencils, gel pens)

Die cutting/embossing machine, along with dies and embossing folders

Paper punches

What is not permitted:

Embellishments of any type – including brads, eyelets, hardware, buttons, ribbon, Stickles, Shimmerz, Prima flowers, Dew Drops, etc.

So give it a shot and see what you can come up with using just the basics! We’d love you to play along with us! Leave us a comment and let us know if you play along. And this week, half of our Design Team has played along; see below for links to today’s projects:

Design Team Members: JulieJenTonya

Guest Design Team Members: JacquieDonna

And about next week’s Club Scrap challenge – that theme will be announced next Wednesday, August 12th, and the other half of our Design Team will be working on that one. Be sure to check back with us next week for that!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "

Changes

Greetings! I don't have a project to share with you today, but rather, an announcement. I have decided to completely revamp my blog, and move it to a new site. I've been blogging at 21st Century Pillow Book for over 10 years now, and it's been wonderful. But the "Pillow Book" aspect got lost somewhere along the way. If you don't know what that is, read my description in the blog header, or do a quick search. They are really very cool. Anyway, I thought it was due time for me to work on a new blog, more of a brand, etc. So, I invite you to now join me over at alisonheikkila.com . I've still got some polishing up to do, and a whole lot of learning, as WordPress is completely different from Blogger, but I am really excited for this new site. I've wanted to do this for a long time, and I am happy to finally be getting it done. Bear with me as I figure out the best way to make it all look and flow. I thankfully have some help with that. But I think you
