Sweet Bookmarks

Hello! The Imagine theme this month is "Books" so I decided to do something I love to make....bookmarks! They're fun, simple to make, totally customizable, and useful. Supplies : Imagine : Memento Markers Memento Ink Pad in Tuxedo Black Other : Sweet Stamp Shop : Book Club Xyron: Creative Station with Laminating Cartridge Stampendous : Mixed Media Paper Acrylic Stamping Block Twine/Ribbon Hole Punch Directions : 1. Begin by cutting Mixed Media Paper to your desired size bookmark. Stamp the images with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. 2. Color the stamped images with Memento Markers. I love how blendable these markers are, yet they dry pretty quickly. They're perfect for quick coloring projects of all kinds. The stamps I used are all about books, and there's a stamp in the set that allows you to write out the info about a specific book. Being the Twi-Hard that I am, I decided to make my first bookmark about Twilight. The fact that you can rate th...

Movie Magic Monthly #2: Twilight

2 posts in one day?! See what happens after I'm sick for a week? I have a lot to catch up on! Today is March 10th, so we have the second challenge with Movie Magic Monthly . And I am uber excited about it...because our challenge for the month is The Twilight Saga! For any of you that have been with me from the very beginning of my blog writing, then you know it was Twilight that started it all.  The first DT I was on was Twilight Tuesday, and I have made many friends through that group, like my fellow MMM DT'er, Laura! For my card, I used a couple of images from The Greeting Farm . Images I used quite a bit during those Twilight Tuesday Days. I didn't use the typical red/black/white color palate for my card. I felt like going a different route. Though I will say, I will definitely use those colors for the next project I make for this challenge. I used alcohol markers to color Bella and Edward in. I need more Brick White...mine is pretty dried out and I u...

Twilight Blog Hop! Plus a New DICC!

Greetings fellow Twi-hards! Greetings! I have TWO projects today! First, I have a new Twilight project to share, and then a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge card. Tonight is the night! It is the release for Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2! I cannot believe that the last movie is finally being released. Will you be at a premiere? I am going to a marathon, though unfortunately  I won't be able to see all of the movies. I'll only be watching the last 3. But it will be loads of fun, none the less. I decided that since this was the last movie, I needed to do one last Twilight hop. One more hurrah before it was all over. So, I asked which of my fellow Twi-friends wanted to hop along with me. Happily, there were 6 gals that wanted to join me. So there are 7 awesome stops in this Blog Hop. And we all made some fabulous, Twilight inspired projects! I am the first stop on the hop, so if you are just starting to hop, you are in the right place! Here's what I came up with. ...

Think Ink Artful INKables Challenge #28

Greetings and salutations! I am thrilled to say that I am the “Challenge Picker” (my own phrase) for the latest Artful INKables Think Ink Challenge. As if the interview from August 20th wasn’t exciting enough! So what did I pick??? Well, for those of you that know me, I love to distress pretty much everything. So my challenge is called: “Distressed out!” Tear it, ink it, sand it…anything and everything to distress your project. Wanna see mine??? Of course, these are Artful INKables stamps! And, if you decide to play along and you use AI stamps, you get an extra entry!!! I really hope you do join in! Now, about my card… I used only ONE piece of cardstock here! I just did different things to the 3 pieces I cut! First, of course is the centerpiece. This awesome Chess Piece is from the Into the Moonlight set. I colored it with my EK Success Watercolor markers. Only 3 shades of brown/tan, actually! Then I inked it with Antique Linen Distress Ink and edged it with Walnut Ink Distress ...

Artful INKables Blog Hop

By the time you read this, I will have already seen Eclipse!!! I can’t believe it’s out! I’ll be sure to give you the play by play of my Triple Feature experience after I recover from the throngs of teenagers! So I am in TWO Blog Hops today! This post is obviously for Artful INKables , and the second is for Bombshell Stamps. Please take a look at both of my posts for today! Thanks! ;} So let’s talk Twilight. I made a card using 3 of my fabulous AI stamps. I really, really love these stamps! And I hope it shows in my card! I started off with the harlequin stamp on some spotted yellow paper, and I cut that out. I wanted to use my swirl stamp, so I stamped it a few times, end to end, and cropped it real tight. You actually don’t see the full swirl because I trimmed so much of it off. But I like how it takes up the whole strip on either side. And I stamped my sentiment and laid it on top. After I had all of my pieces, I distressed the hell out of it! Lots of colors, lots of layers, lots ...

FHF Eclipse Pop Culture Challenge & Artful INKables Challenge #4

Can you believe it??? It’s almost time! Time for the release of Eclipse!!! I can hardly wait!!! As I have mentioned before, I am seeing a triple feature starting at 6:30 on Tuesday night! It’s gonna be great!!! Today Erica issued us the latest Pop Culture Challenge for Friends Having Fun . And it’s all about Eclipse!!! Make something Twi-Inspired! Easy-peasy! Plus, I of course had to partake in the 4th and final challenge for Artful INKables too! Their challenge was to create anything but a card. Cool! So…I made a bookmark. I am really into making these lately! And check this out…I didn’t use ANY paper!!! It’s tough to see all the detail in this pic…feel free to click on it to see it bigger! I used 2 Artful INKables stamps for this bookmark. And a whole lotta ink! Here’s a close up. I used just a heavy weight chipboard for the bookmark, and smudged some Fired Brick Distress Ink on top to make it sorta look like wood. Then I stamped the swirls in Color Box’s Chestnut Roan. Last, I st...

StampInsanity Challenge #10: Bookmark with a Hardware Twist!

Hello again, my Lovelies! It is time for another fabulous StampInsanity cahllenge! This week, the Groovy Gurlz are challenging you to make a bookmark…but with a little twist! You gotta add some hardware! Here’s my little piece of fun: Say hello to Jack. He’s from one of Beth’s latest releases called What the Heart Wants. It’s really with the anticipation of Eclipse coming out (next month!!!) but I always think of New Moon when I think of Jacob. Here’s a close up. As I most often do, Jake is colored in with colored pencils. I added a bunch of yarn for a tassel (which is held on by a big eyelet!), and I also added 3 tiny bells. When I think of Native American jewelry and decorations, there is often little charms hanging off of it… hence the bells. Here’s some more hardware. I added staples through the length of the bookmark and I added this funky cog that I got from my friend Kelli. Jake looks a little snarky, so I made a sentiment sayin’ “Read Dammit.” I used a piece of chipboard fo...

Twilight Tuesday Farewell Blog Hop

The end is here. This is the Twilight Tuesday Farewell Blog Hop. And I can honestly say that I never thought I could have so much fun with people that I have never met! But before I start getting all mushy on you, let me share what Rebecca wrote on the TTIC Blog: Hey everyone! It’s Rebecca , bringing you something special for our last Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge. For this event, we’re doing a DT blog hop. Our challenge theme???? ” Love of books, the printed words on a page” since that is what brought us all together. I love to read the newspaper online but nothing beats a printed newspaper on Sunday mornings. And no matter how hard I try, I can’t abandon books (hardcover, softcover, or paperback) to a digital reader. Are you totally digital or do you prefer a good old fashioned printed page in your hands?” Creative portion: Create a project that uses printed text: a page from a magazine, book, dictionary, etc. within your project, as the background or focal point. The hop...

TTIC Color Challenge #3: Bella & Edward’s Wedding Flowers

I am happy to be bringing you the 3rd Twilight Tuesday Color Challenge today! These are pretty different from the normal Twi-colors of red, black and white, so I am really excited about this challenge! Here’s what I wrote on the TTIC Blog: Here are the Bella and Edward’s Wedding Flowers! We’ve got Lilac, Orange Blossom (yes, for those of you with green thumbs out there, orange blossoms are actually white…but just work with me here ok? ) and finally, Rose. It’s a very soft palate. And I hate the winter… so I needed a pick me up with these colors! These are the lovely flowers Alice picked out for the Wedding. What a pretty combo of flowers don’tcha think? So create something soft and beautiful for this challenge. Can’t wait to see what you come up with! Like I said, different right? So here’s what I came up with: Now, I’m still sick with this awful cold… so the card is missing a little pizzazz… but at 9PM when I was working on this card last night, the pizzazz-making part of my bra...

Twilight Tuesday Challenge :#61 – A Touchy Feely Vampire Valentine

Yay! Its Tuesday! Time for another fab Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge ! This week our challenge comes from the brilliant and super talented mind of my friend Donna. Here is what she wrote: With Valentines day fast approaching and everybody in a lovey dovey, touchy feely kinda mood, I thought the most obvious thing I could challenge you all to is to create a Valentine’s day card for your favorite Twilight Saga character *sigh*…Rob…I mean…Edward….What??
