TTIC #34- Project Portion

Well whatdaya know? TWO posts in one day!!! I had to get this done, even though I still can't get the original post up fro TTIC. I've gotten some great recommendations, so tomorrow I'll try 'em out. I shant be doin' any experimenting at 10:40PM!

Here is my project for this week's Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge! This project is extra special because it's for my husband and it's my first challenge as a TTIC Guest Designer!!! Again, it's supposed to be about the Summer. Please go to http://www.twilighttuesday.com/ for the whole story. I will try to repost it tomorrow... I made this card for Gene (please read why in the post below). He hasn't even seen it yet, or know that I was making it... so surprise Babe!!! The outside of the card simply says "Remember..." and, sorry folks, but the inside is private! :} I used real sand from Nix's sandbox and this adorable Adirondack chair stamp that I have. Inks created the look of the sky, the sea, the sand, and the sun. I used an ivory cardstock for the card itself (I'm really into ivory lately... I don't know why!) in order to keep the tones muted. I'm so please with how it came out. I just hope that Gene likes it! I guess I'll find out after he reads my blog! So, I guess that's it. Please make sure that you go to http://www.twilighttuesday.com/ to see all of the other wonderful projects!

Oh, how LOVELY is this?! I bet your husband LOVED it. I am ALL about the ivory and cream colors as well. I use them more than white! You did a GORGEOUS job with your first Design Team challenge -- and we're very happy to have you!

Mediterranean Dreams Shaker

Hello! Today I have a card that features the Mediterranean Dreams Subscription Kit from White Rose Crafts.  This fabulous Subscription Kit brings together sparkling, azure Mediterranean seas, sun-bleached shores and the rich colors of vibrant Mediterranean cultures in a carefully curated kit. I knew I just had to try the Jillibean Soup shaker card and I chose to use one of the stamps (from Kaisercraft) to make my background. I stamped the seashell with Tea Dye Distress Oxide all over the background of the card. Then I applied some Walnut Stain Distress Oxide to my craft mat, spritzed it with some water, and splattered it on to my card base. Last, I inked the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide with a Mini Blending Brush. For my sentiment, I die cut a stitched rectangle from my stash, out of the pearly yellow cardstock that came in the kit and stamped it with "Wish You Were Here" stamp from the same "Summer Splash" stamp set, with StazOn Pigment ink. Echo Park Blog Hop with Imagine

Greetings! This is my second post for the day. This one is not part of the 31 Days of Halloween, but rather a super-duper blog hop that the Artists in Residence for Imagine are doing with Echo Park . So if you're here for my Day 7 project, please check out the post HERE . But before you do that, scroll on to check out this one. There are prizes up for grabs, so be sure to check out the Imagine Blog as well as the Echo Park Blogs for details. I created my background by applying Dandelion and Tangelo Memento Ink to my brayer. Then I sprayed it with Ink Potion No. 9 to help the colors blend and to act as an extender to keep the inks wet longer. After I rolled the colors out on to watercolor paper and let it dry, I stamped the lovely doily-like image from Echo Park's Simply Sweet Stamp Set with Grape Jelly Memento. I also received the super pretty Heart Doily Designer Die  which I used with a true purple cardstock. But it needed something....and in rolls the super fabul...
