Seaside Christmas

Hello! Have you seen the latest Stampendous stamps? The July catalog is out and the stamps have been loaded to the web site! Trust me, if you love Christmas and Halloween, you will not want to miss this release. We are going to begin by celebrating Christmas in July. My card today is one of my favorites that I made for this release. I live on Long Island, so the beach is never far away. I thought this image was really lovely, and although I wouldn't want to spend Christmas on a Long Island beach (it is waaaay too cold!), I do think it would be fun somewhere tropical. Things you Might Find at the Beach with WW

Hello! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge. This week, our theme is "Things You Might Find at the Beach," and our sponsor is PolkaDoodles . This is Seashore Shannon . I colored her with my Tombow Dual Brush markers and then I cut her out. For the background, I chose a pale peach cardstock and I added a little bit of each of the vials from Stampendous' Beach Embossing Powder Kit . By layering the colors, you can create the look of an actual beach! You have to be really careful not to sprinkle too much, and to not knock the powders around once they've been poured. Then, you heat from underneath. What would you like to find by the sea? Do you get to visit the beach often? I don't go very often, but when I do, I love to look for shells, sea glass, and anything else I can find. I plan on taking my son's metal detector soon (with my kids, of course!). Please join us at Wicked Wednesday this week. And don't forget to check out what th...

Saying Goodbye to Friends Having Fun

It’s a sad day…It’s time to say goodbye to Friends Having Fun . I don’t know about you, but I had a blast during these 5 short months we’ve had. I loved coming up with the Color Challenges and playing along with the other groups. But as a farewell, here is a sketch challenge created by the super talented Dani… I created a layout that I think is quite appropriate… It’s called Moving Forward. As you can see, I flipped the sketch counter clockwise. Isn’t it appropriate for what is happening right now? Here’s the original photo: Check out that main of hair Rhiannon has!!! It reads: “I love you in this picture. I love the wind in your hair. I love seeing you in motion. You’re such a big girl. Moving forward.” I took a doily and chalked it with some brown to pick up some of the pretty details on it. I used a punch from EK Success that reminds me of water, and some of my fave Daisiy D’s paper. In addition, I used some a Crafter’s Workshop stencil for my journaling, a couple of rhinestones,...

This project is extra special because it's for my husband and it's my first challenge as a TTIC Guest Designer!!! Again, it's supposed to be about the Summer. Please go to http://www.twilighttuesday.com/ for the whole story. I will try to repost it tomorrow... I made this card for Gene (please read why in the post below). He hasn't even seen it yet, or know that I was making it... so surprise Babe!!! The outside of the card simply says "Remember..." and, sorry folks, but the inside is private! :} I used real sand from Nix's sandbox and this adorable Adirondack chair stamp that I have. Inks created the look of the sky...
