Black Cat Wreath

Greetings! I am so excited about my card today. This isn't for any challenge, or any Design Team...it's just because I was inspired and I had to make it. So I have totally fallen in love with the Gina K Wreath Builder Templates . I have seen a lot of beautiful wreaths with flowers and greenery from many people, but I wanted to step out of the box. Way out. The Wreath Builder Templates are perfect for making really cool cards for Halloween. I have a bunch made/in the works already, but this was my first, and i really love it. I adore Hero Art's Luna the Halloween Cat stamp set. I love it's simplicity, it's elegance, and of course, all of the imagery. So I chose one of the lovely cats, and began to build my "wreath." I used VersaFine Clair in Nocturne to get a deep black, solid image. Then I moved on to the hats, and used Fantasia ink, also in VersaFine Clair. Of course, I also needed some moons and stars, and they were stamped with Brilliance ink in S...

Something Wicked...

Hello! I've got a shaker card to share with you today, ad it features the " Something Wicked " Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I LOVE this new Sparkle Blend because it has shades of purples, blue, black and silver. Plus!!! It's got little sequins with black and white stripes, and teeny fimo pieces that have witch hats and ghosts on it! It's almost like Amber made this blend for me! ;) Of course, I created this card based on the colors and vibe of this particular Sparkle Blend. I went through all of my Halloween stamps (that took a while!) and came across this great witch silhouette from Recollections (it's a Michaels brand). I stamped her directly on to acetate with StazOn Ink . Next I chose a purple cardstock for my top layer and die cut a circle that would accommodate the size of my stamped image, plus extra room to see the Sparkle Blends moving and shaking! I inked the edges of the purple with Shimmer Silver Delicata Ink from Imagine . ...

Stenciled Witch with Glow: Day 30 of 31

Greetings my spooktacular fiends! It's Day 30 of the 31 Days of Halloween. Eek! It's almost the end. Today I am sharing a card that uses a stencil I used in the beginning of the month, but in a totally different way. I know that some folks are a little intimated by stencils, so my goal was to show you a simple way to use them that gives a cool effect. I used the Broom Flight stencil from Stampendous. All the possible colors that can be used and some of the smaller spaces may get some people a little anxious. But by simply spraying one side of the stencil and pressing it in to watercolor paper, you can achieve fast look. I used Cut Grass and Crushed Grape Dylusions Spray, with a teensy bit of Metallic Orange Memories Mist for a bit of a shine. My card base, which is black, has Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Gold brushed around the border. On the stenciled layer, I also dripped some Tuxedo Black Fireworks! Spray. But, I wanted some dimension and an added surprise of glow. I hav...

Broom Flight: Day 3 of 31 Days

Greetings, my Spooktacular friends! It's Day 3 of the 31 Days of Halloween. This is one of my favorite cards that I've made for the month. I've been trying to work ahead quite a bit with my posts, and I couldn't wait to share it, so here it is on Day 3. This is SO easy to do, and you can learn how with my instructions below. Day 1 of 31 Days: Come as You Aren't

Greetings! It's officially the most wonderful time of the year! Today is Day 1 of the 31 Days of Halloween. I have participated in every 31 Days (what are we at? Year 5?) and I am so excited to be doing it again. For my first project. I use a bunch of Stampendous' newest Halloween images. I started off with the fantastic witch label from the Halloween Labels Cling and Die Set  and colored it with Zig Clean Color Markers. I then stamped the spiderweb and a spider from the Spider Fear set and embossed with with Star Dust embossing powder. I created my card base out of Sweet Potato cardstock and stenciled the Swirls Stencil with Gray Flannel Memento ink. I didn't make it solid, rather I wanted the stenciled image to fade in and out of the background. Then I inked up the bottom edge of the card base with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed Marcastie Embossing Powder on top. The card needed a little something further, so I stamped a sentiment from the Spooky Wishes ...

Alison the Witch from Tiddly Inks

Greetings! Today I am sharing a project with you that features Alison the Witch from Tiddly Inks . She is my favorite image from Tiddly Inks (though I LOVE so many!). Why? Well, you may have read this story before, but this particular image was actually made for me by Christy Croll, owner and artist of Tiddly Inks. I won a contest several years ago, and I got to give Christy some design cues on what I wanted the image to look like. And this image is just perfect! I use her whenever I can. I colored Alison with my Zig Clean color markers, using some of my favorite colors. She was stamped on to Canson Mixed Media Paper, which is my favorite to use with these markers. I had plans on adding all sorts of layers and embellishments for this card, but as I was making it, my direction totally changed. That's one of the fun things about creating things though, right? Seeing how your original idea morphs into a new one? Love that. So you'll notice that this photo is a little d...

Left of Center: Day 29 of 31

Greetings! It's not only the 29th day of the 31 Days of Halloween, but it's also my 12th Anniversary with my wonderful husband. Huzzah! Today, I have a new Left of Center challenge to share. The theme is Halloween, and our sponsor is Bloobel Stamps. I made an ATC. She looks pretty content now, doesn't she? Once again, I used my Zig Clean Color Markers to color the image in. Thank goodness for those teeny bristles on the brush....I printed this witch out super tiny so that she'd fit on my 2.5" x 3.5" ATC. My sentiment is part of a bigger Inkadinkado sentiment, and i embossed it with Rose Gold embossing powder from Stampendous. I wish you could see how gorgeous this color is in real life. I also added a little washi tape. Please visit the Left of Center blog to see what the rest of Team B has come up with. And don't forget about the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creeptastic day!

Day 27 of 31 with Stampendous

Greetings! We are so close to the end! I hope you have enjoying all of the tricks and treats of the 31 Days of Halloween so far. Today I have a 6x6" Mini Page featuring Stampendous. This week, the Stampendous team is sharing projects featuring elements of Halloween costumes, so I knew I just had to use this new Witch Boots Metal Stencil . I first outlined the stencil using the pen from the Stencil Duos . It's the perfect fine line pen for the job. Then I colored the image in with my Zig Clean Color Markers. I also inked up one of my favorite stencils on the green cardstock...the Chevron . Plus, I used part of the Spider Web stencil on my pumpkin. I also stamped my sentiment (it's only part of the Witching You stamp), and I used an older Andy Skinner stamp for the mini page base. All of my inks are from Imagine . Please be sure to visit the rest of the Stampendous team that is posting today by visiting the Blog . And, don't forget about the Wicked Blogge...

Witch Earrings: Day 24 of 31

Hello again! It's Day 24 of the 31 Days of Halloween, and today I have a pair of earrings to share with you. I had these fun cauldron and witch hat charms that I haven't gotten to use much, so I thought this was a good time. Now of course, I will wear these for more than just Halloween, but they totally work for this bewitching month. I used some hematite and metal seed beads...plus a couple of beautiful Pietersite beads. It's tough for me to capture how cool the Pietersite is, so Google it. The stones have a beautiful chatoyancy (bands of reflected light)....they just shine. It's got some great purposes associated with it too. I got this from Crystal Vaults : Pietersite is a powerful protection stone, especially against the elements. It calms nervous people and animals during storms, protects when driving in bad weather, and guards homes and businesses against storm damage. It also acts as a shield against the adverse effects of technology, particularly if yo...

Day 11 of 31 Days: Vintage Witch Costume

Greetings! It's Day 11 of the 31 Days of Halloween. Today I have a card using an image from A Day for Daisies . I used the image called Vintage Witch Costume . I would love to wear an outfit like this some Halloween. I colored the image with my Zig Clean Color Markers, and I die cut it with a Fitted Frame from Stampendous . I also used  Fitted Frame s to die cut all of my other papers, except for the gray herringbone.  I added accent lines and dots around the orange paper using  Imagine 's Tuxedo Black  irRESISTable  Pico Embellisher. It adds just a touch of shine, which I think the card needed. I also inked the edges of my card base with Black Shimmer Delicata Ink , also from Imagine. I can't get enough of that ink!  Thanks for visiting me today. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers. They are all listed in my side bar. Have a fang-tastic day!

Day 7 of 31 Days of Halloween: Miss Star Witch

Hello again! It's time for a new challenge with A Day for Daises , and thankfully, it ties right into the 31 Days of Halloween. Now, along with this post, I also am participating in a fabulous hop between Imagine and Echo Park. To check out that post, please click HERE . The theme for ADfD this month is "Anything Halloweeny Goes!" Sweet. So I worked with Miss Star Witch to create a 6x6 mini page with a vintage feel. I know, I know...it's not creepy. I'm sorry.....but I do like the end result. I used 3 colors of Zig Clean Color Markers and a water brush to color the witch and her kitty in. Then I added some Distress Inks and Memento inks on top to age the image further. Now, remember how I mentioned that Imagine /Echo Park Blog Hop? Well, I wanted to give a nod to that hop, so you'll notice that the die cut that I used on this card, is the same on that I used on the card for the hop. Plus, I dabbed 2 GORGEOUS Delicata   (Shimmery Silver and Celestial...

Day 6 of 31: Wicked Witch with Stampendous

Not all witches are wicked. If anyone knows that, it's you folks that are hopping through the 31 Days of Halloween, but for my Day 6 project, I decided to use the Wicked Witch of the West for my focus. I used the new stencil called Framed Witch by Stampendous. I stenciled her in 2 steps. First, I did the witch herself. I taped off the frame so that the Matte Black Embossing Paste wouldn't travel where I didn't want it. After I removed the stencil, I sprinkled on some Forestry Metallic F/X Powder on to the areas of her skin. After that dried, I re-taped the stencil, this time, over the cameo and I applied Bronze Creative Medium from Imagine  and I let that dry. Next I used a Fitted Frame to die cut around the stenciled image. I also inked the edges with Black Shimmer Delicata Ink from Imagine. Using the same gray cardstock, I cut a 6x6" piece for my background, and stenciled the Corner Flourish with the Bronze Creative Medium. More black Shimmer on the edg...

Day 3 of 31: Willow Witch

Hello! Welcome to Day 3 of the 31 Days of Halloween. I've got a nasty cold that just won't quit, so this will be a quickie post for me. I made an ATC today, featuring one of Nikki Burnette 's lovely images. She's called Willow . I colored her with my Zig Clean Color Markers. Again, this is an ATC, so it's only 2 1/2" x 3 1/2," so she's tiny! Those brush markers are great for fine detail. I used a water brush in some spots as well. I used an old sentiment stamp from Cosmo Cricket and some black holographic Class A Peel stickers from Stampendous . That's it for me today. Don't forget to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creep-tastic day!

Inspired by Pinterest with Wicked Wednesday

Hello! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge, and this is a GREAT one! So I am guessing that many of you are fans of Pinterest? Of course you are! So how many of you Pin inspirational photos, to try and make something based off of it later, but you never do? Well, this challenge is totally for you, then! I'm sorta guilty...but I try to make things from my boards from time to time. The theme is "Inspired by Pinterest." And, we are sponsored by Nikki Burnette ...I love her images. You can find my inspiration Pin HERE . I colored Nikki's Taryn image with Memento Markers from Imagine Crafts , and I cut her out. For my background, I finger painted with 2 Dylusions paints and blended them together to get orange in the middle. I love to finger paint! Next, using Tuxedo Black and Wedding Dress irRESISTables Pico Embellishers, I drew in the clouds and grass. After I glued the image down, I drew the border around it. I was trying to emulate not only ...
