Day 6 of 31: Elemental Earrings

Hello again! It's Day 6 of the Smeared Ink 31 Days of Halloween. Yesterday, I promised that I would have some offerings other than just cards to show you. Well, today is one of those days. I decided I was in the mood to  make some earrings. And these were really fun.

I dub these, my Elemental Earrings. You'll see all of the "stuff" in the pics below, but I wanted you to see how they hang on the ear. I incorporated all 4 elements into these earrings, as well as a couple of witchy charms.

For Earth, I used those cool wood beads. Air is represented by the quartz crystals. Fire is present in the form of the little red stone beads. And Water is here in the form of the shell beads, which I used in their natural (non-bleached) color. For my stamped element, I used the skull from the Smeared Ink Quoth the Raven set. I stamped it on shrink plastic and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers. You can see my little witch hats and cauldrons here too. The opalescent beads are man made...and I hesitated on using them....but I thought it gave the earrings just the right amount of color and shine.

A side note....my sisters, mom, brother-n-law, and I are opening up a new online store called The Happy Medium Shop. It's going to be gothic clothing, jewelry, home decor, and whatever else we decide to come up with. I am probably going to be making similar earrings to these for the shop. So, if you like these, or would like to see what we are working on, please check out our Facebook page HERE, and give us a "like." We'll be selling things in the very near future. Thanks for visiting me today! Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers...they're all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creeptastic day!

Mediterranean Dreams Shaker

Hello! Today I have a card that features the Mediterranean Dreams Subscription Kit from White Rose Crafts.  This fabulous Subscription Kit brings together sparkling, azure Mediterranean seas, sun-bleached shores and the rich colors of vibrant Mediterranean cultures in a carefully curated kit. I knew I just had to try the Jillibean Soup shaker card and I chose to use one of the stamps (from Kaisercraft) to make my background. I stamped the seashell with Tea Dye Distress Oxide all over the background of the card. Then I applied some Walnut Stain Distress Oxide to my craft mat, spritzed it with some water, and splattered it on to my card base. Last, I inked the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide with a Mini Blending Brush. For my sentiment, I die cut a stitched rectangle from my stash, out of the pearly yellow cardstock that came in the kit and stamped it with "Wish You Were Here" stamp from the same "Summer Splash" stamp set, with StazOn Pigment ink. Echo Park Blog Hop with Imagine

Greetings! This is my second post for the day. This one is not part of the 31 Days of Halloween, but rather a super-duper blog hop that the Artists in Residence for Imagine are doing with Echo Park . So if you're here for my Day 7 project, please check out the post HERE . But before you do that, scroll on to check out this one. There are prizes up for grabs, so be sure to check out the Imagine Blog as well as the Echo Park Blogs for details. I created my background by applying Dandelion and Tangelo Memento Ink to my brayer. Then I sprayed it with Ink Potion No. 9 to help the colors blend and to act as an extender to keep the inks wet longer. After I rolled the colors out on to watercolor paper and let it dry, I stamped the lovely doily-like image from Echo Park's Simply Sweet Stamp Set with Grape Jelly Memento. I also received the super pretty Heart Doily Designer Die  which I used with a true purple cardstock. But it needed something....and in rolls the super fabul...
