Crow's Nest: Day 23 of 31 Days

Can you tell that sometimes Dream Team's "Fearless Leader", Pam Hornschu, has a hard time deciding on monthly challenges? Since the team will be taking turns all month with the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween, and we did a Christmas collaboration with Stampendous and Core'dinations the 13th - 17th, the confusion should be understandable. Therefore...happy HallowThanksMas! As usual, we'd love for you to play along with the challenge and link your creations to the Inlinkz tool on the Dream It Up! blog. Just in case you are wondering...NO, YOU DO NOT NEED TO POST SOMETHING WITH ALL THREE HOLIDAYS ON IT! However, you get bonus points for actually using Dreamweaver stencils and product on your creations! And bonus points might actually earn you an extra stencil as our monthly winner...just sayin'!

Many people think of crows when they think of Halloween. The supposed harbingers of death, their strange "caw," the movies, like The Crow...which takes place on Devil's Night and Halloween. So, although my card for today isn't especially Halloweenie...I still see plenty of elements that remind me of this most magical time of year in it. I hope you see them too.

I started off with the Raven stencil. I used black matte embossing paste, and after it dried, I cut it out. I wanted to show the softer side of crows, so I took the Nest stencil and inked that up. Yes, that is actually what crow eggs look like, I looked it up. :) I added the "Quoth the Raven" sentiment from Smeared Ink.

I used the fantastic Quatrefoil stencil for my background, which I inked and heat embossed. LOVE this stencil! I added another crow on top...this one is a stamp from Inkadinkado, and then some fantabulous ribbons from May Arts.

So yeah....it's not very Halloween looking. But I often associate these brilliant birds with this very special holiday. Please check out not only the Wicked Bloggers, but the rest of the B Team from Dreamweavers, all listed below. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creeptastic day!

Fabulous card with that weird eerie look that the crows bring. (Why is that?? I have ravens where I live, but they are not spooky. Maybe they need castle ruins nearby or weird wooded places!!) Love the colors you chose and the webby meshy ribbon! Eeek!!

I love the background on this and the fibers really pull it all together.
Spooktacular card, I love all the layers and the lime green and black and if it's got a crow in it then it screams Halloween to me!

Very nice mixture of elements. That ribbon is kind of scary to me! It's not the color so much as the texture or design of it. It's so yucky looking. I love the crow pair!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
