Day 14 of 31: Bombshell Skull Tag

Happy (?) Monday! I hope you are all faring well. Today I have a quickie post to go along with my quickie tag. I chose to work with the largest image from Bombshell Stamps' Sugar Skulls set.

I started off by stamping my image with Versa Craft. I should have used Staz On though, as it would have dried quicker...as I was rather impatient when I made this. ;) Then, I simply colored the whole thing with Distress Inks. I started with Mustard Seed, then Ripe Persimmon, and last was Seedless Grapes. I applied all of these with a cosmetic sponge. I have a sponge for each Distress Ink I own, to avoid mixing the colors.

Before I continue...I have no idea why but I couldn't get my second photo to "Bump." I took my pics with my phone, because the camera is freaking siiiiick on it (Samsung Galaxy s4), but I couldn't Bump my pic to my computer. Have you ever used that app? It''s awesome, and has never given me a problem until today. Oh well. This pic shows off what I have done well enough.

Anywho...After I sponged the background, I went in with Cut 'n Dry Nibs (from Ranger) and applied the color to my flowers and falling petals. Last, I broke out the Pumice Stone Distress Ink, and colored in the skulls. Super simple, super fast. Took me about 10 minutes. And I needed a fast one, 'cause so many of my other projects take me so long. Which is fine, but I was outta time when I made this! :) Well, I have gone on long enough. Please be sure to check out the rest of the Wicked Bloggers' amazing creations, all listed in my sidebar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fang-tastic day!

Love how you left it white around the image. It really makes the image pop. I'm always amazed with your shading, like the skulls.

This does not have the look of a fast and simple process project.

You are inspiring me to add to my collection of supplies.
In my defense, most of my stamps would be considered vintage. I need to update.

This is beautiful! When you talk about the cut n dry nibs - do you use them like a pen? Like pick up the colour from the ink pad and colour in with it? Anyways, it's a gorgeous tag! love it mo x

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
