Greetings on this very rare 29th of February! Do you know anyone that has a birthday today? I knew a guy back from elementary school who does. I wonder if he’s having a big celebration. But I digress. As you probably know, the last day of every month is the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop. And I am the lucky one that gets to pick the theme each month.
This month, since it’s a leap year, and since the hop is actually on the 29th, I decided to go with “Leap into Action!” That means that I wanted the participants to make their Bombshells into heros. There are many types of heroes. Firemen, policemen, nurses, super heroes, and advocates, just to name a few. I decided to go the super hero route with mine.

I’ve had the costume for quite a while. I was waiting for the right opportunity to use it, and by golly, this was it! I went with the classic bat girl colors, though sometimes the images I found looked more purple than blue… I used a mix of watercolor markers and Copics for her.
I had fun making the background. Cutting all of those little strips isn’t as bad as you may think. But I wanted a real dynamic quality to the card, and I think those stripes gave it just that. My “super rad” is from Bam Pop!, I just had to use it here. A few rhinestones, some “explosions,” a little bit of sparkly ink. Voila! Finished!
