Gilded, Blooms, and Steampunk

Welcome! It's time for another super busy Wednesday! I have 3 projects for you today. The first is for Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge. The theme is Beautiful Blooms and we are sponsored by DRS Designs. I love daffodils. They are always so cheery. I decided to go with the more unusual coloration of white and pink, instead of the more common yellow or orange and white. I have some pink and white daffodils and they are just beautiful. I colored the image with my watercolor markers. For Bombshell Stamps, this month's Hump Day Hop theme is "Gilded, AKA Metallics." I had fun with this one! I started off with the Lucky Me horseshoe from the Lucky Bride set. I colored with with watercolor markers, and a couple of metallic markers. Then, I pawed through my Dreamweaver Stencils to see what would work well with this stamp, as I knew I wanted to use one of their fabulous embossing pastes . I went with Copper Paste and the Art Nouveau Bkg . The stencil is actual...

Stars, Stripes, Sea Life & Dragon Scales

Hello again! It's Wednesday, so that means there's a lot going on i my little corner of Bloggy Land. I've got a new A Step in the Dark project, one for Wicked Wednesday , and of course, since it's the last Wednesday of the month, the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop. The new A Step in the Dark challenge is sponsored by Smeared Ink, and the challenge is Anything Goes. I used the beautiful Tiamat from the Women of Power set. I had so much fun with her. And not just because she's topless. ;) I colored Tiamat with my Spectrum Noir markers. My background was made with the Scales stencil from Dreamweaver . The "Praise" is from The Symbology of Angels . She is so powerful looking..... Now. For Wicked Wednesday, we are sponsored by Aurora Wings , and the challenge is Mythical Sea Creatures. This beautiful image was also colored with Spectrum Noir markers, in my 2 favorite colors...teal and purple. I used 2 different colors of Stickles and Li...

Hump Day Hop with Bombshell and Wicked Wednesday

Hello and welcome to the June 2014 Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop. I also have a new ATC  for Wicked Wednesday . This month, the hop theme was "Red Carpet Ready," and I wanted everyone to glam up their Bombshells as if they were going to walk the red carpet. Here's what I made. I used Bombshell Angel along with the Evening Bombshell digis for her outfit. I colored her with a combination of watercolor markers and alcohol markers. I love this dress, and I want it for myself. I was inspired by the dress that Angelina Jolie wore a couple of years ago that was emerald green. It popped so beautifully against the red carpet. My background was done with my Houndstooth stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils . I applied Copper Embossing Paste to the stencil and then sprinkled some pretty iridescent glitter on to the wet paste. For the sentiment, I applied the paste with a palette knife, and then the glitter again. Below is the full hop list. Bombshell Blog: http://bo...

March Bombshell Hump Day Hop: Washi Away & WW: Flower Fairies

Hello! It's time for the March Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month's theme is "Washi Away." Washi  tape is extremely popular with paper crafters right now, so I thought it would be fun to have a challenge where everyone uses it. Also, since it's Wednesday, I have the latest Wicked Wednesday challenge to share as well. That theme is Flower Fairies, and we are sponsored by A & T Digital Designs. Let's start with the hop. Ahoy Sailor ! That's the set I used to create my card. Obviously, the Bombshell and Lifesaver image are part of the set, but so is the teeny star you see in between them. I colored the images with alcohol markers, and used an embossing folder for my background. Then there's the fab chevron print washi tape! Yum! Love that stuff! Now...my daughter wanted to get in on the act. She loves washi tape too. So she chose some Bombshells to play with too. Take a peek at her teeny creations! She used the Bombshell Patterns. W...

February Bombshell Hump Day Hop and Wicked Wednesday

Hi! I have 2 projects to share with you. It's Wednesday, so not only do I have a new Wicked Wednesday ATC for you, but it's the last Wednesday of the month so it's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop. This week's WW challenge, is Kids at Play, and we are sponsored by Digi Darla. What kid doesn't love pinwheels? I colored this little guy with m watercolor markers. I used the colors of one of my son's shirts for inspiration. See the cute little blue strip with the boat? That's actually the top of a paint chip. I thought it was the perfect little somethin' somethin' the ATC needed to add a bit more of the "playful" feeling. On to Bombshell! I chose to challenge our hoppers this month to a color challenge. I love color challenges! I found a beautiful palette from Design Seeds. Here it is. I told the hoppers that they need to use at least 3 of these colors, and can only add black, white, and neutrals to their projects. Here...

Hump Day Hop, WW, and Kickstart Day 2

Hello and welcome! It's the last Wednesday of the month so it's time for the first Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop of 2014! Also, since it's Wednesday, I have a new Wicked Wednesday ATC to share, PLUS it's Day 2 of Kickstart your Art with Smeared & Smudged. I combined the S&S piece with my Bombshell project. This month's Bombshell Hop theme was Animal Instincts. I wanted the participants to use at least one of the many animals Bombshell has to offer, or one of our animal patterns. There are many sets that could have been used this month! As you can see, I used the animal prints from Bombshell Patterns . Those patterns plus the prompt from Kickstart was my inspiration. The prompt was "Hearts." So I decided to combine the two ideas....love is primal to me. I am deeply in love with my husband, and I totally can feel the animal instincts kicking in with him sometimes. ;) In addition to the Bombshell Patterns set, I also used Madonna Woodcut (th...

Bombshell Stamps November Hump Day Hop: Water World

Hello! Today is the last Wednesday of the month, so that means it;s time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop. This month's theme is Water World. Bombshell has a lot of sets that include things pertaining to water, so I thought this would be a fun challenge. For my project, I used Koi Tattoo. This is a new set for me. I have been wanting to play with it for a while, so I was especially happy to finally break it out of it's packaging. I started off by stamping the focal image from the set on acetate with StazOn ink. Then, using watercolor paper and watercolor (to go even further with the Water World theme), I painted a very rough version of the image. I used the stamped image as a guide. Not trying to be too perfect, but attempting to get the colors in basically the right places. You can see the shine of the acetate in this photo. I adhered the watercolor paper with my ATG gun, and the acetate with eyelets. I like this technique. I think it would be fun to do a ...

September Hump Day Hop: Speed Demons- Masters of Transportation

Greetings! It's time for the September 2013 Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, the theme I chose was Speed Demons- Masters of Transportation. Bombshell Stamps has so many images to choose from for this theme. Motorcycles, hot rods, even a ship! So I wanted the participants to use any of these Speed Demons as the focus of their projects. Here's what I created. I made a tag using Speed Shop and Pin-Stripes . I colored my hot rod with colored pencils. The tag I painted with acrylic paint. I kept the finish uneven on purpose. The big pin stripe was stamped with acrylic paint as well. I used a silver pencil for the chrome on the car, so I decided to go with the silver idea further and heat emboss my phrases and the crown in a bright silver. I love the added shine. I also added a bit of highlighting with a white gel pen. There you have it! So, do you have any of the Bombshell Stamps speed demons? Well, the folks below do, and they want to show off their projects!...

August Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop: Cowboys and Indians!

Hello Bloggy Friends! It's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, I chose the theme "Cowboys and Indians," which is easy since there are so many Bombshell stamps (rubber and digi!) that fit this category. My project for today features the Indian Princess set. I decided to stamp her on an old page from a book. I then colored her completely with Distress Inks and Cut-N-Dry Nibs (I love those little suckers). The colors I used were Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint Festive Berries, Broken China, Mustard Seed, Black Soot and Pumice Stone. I also used one of the beeeee-utiful feathers that comes in the set to make the background on my card base. I embossed it with Queen's Gold, from Ranger. Gives just the right amount of shine. Now it's time for you to hop along! Below is the full list of participants. Please be sure to visit each one and show them some love. Thanks for topping by, and have an inspiring day! July Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop: Paint the Town!

Greetings! It's time for the July Hump Day Hop! This month, my challenge theme was "Paint the Town." So I wanted everyone to take out their paints and sprays and go nuts! I decided to make a few tags to be later used on other projects. I used a whole bunch of stamp sets for these 3 tags. I used Cherry Bomb , Man's Ruin , Tiki Party , and Girl's Ruin . I started by spraying each tag with sprays from Dreamweaver Stencils and Tattered Angels. Then I stenciled or brushed on some acrylic paint, and ended with stamping the images. Here's a closeup of each tag. I rarely use the devil head, and I thought this was a great opportunity to pull him out. Out of the 3, this is my favorite tag. No stencils were used on this one....just a fan brush to apply the paint. This will be cool on a scrapbook page I think. Now, to have a tiki party...... ;) This tag gave me some trouble. There's actually a car underneath that blue patch of paint. It didn't embo...

May Hump Day Hop: Banners

Greetings, bloggy friends! It's the last Wednesday in May, so that means it's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, I chose "Banners" for the theme. I thought this was a pretty simple one, as so many of the Bombshell sets come with really rad banners. The participants could also make their own banners...or if they really felt like being creative, to make a banner as their project. I decided to try something kind of new. Instead of making a card, or a scrapbook page...I made a mini 6x6 layout, with no photos. I think that I will make a whole book of these mini pages. It's not really art journaling, and not exactly scrapbooking...but it's fun, and I like it...so there ya go! Let me start iff by saying that the yellows look rather garish in my photos, but I promise, they look much better in real life. And the tones of my background paper are a bit brighter in real life too. For my mini page, I used Mermaid Treasure , Homeward Bound , and Aho...
