Smeared & Smudged March Member Blog Hop

It’s time for another Member Blog Hop at Smeared & Smudged! I love these hops, because there is always a ton of creep-tastic goodness to check out. And this month is super special, because we have a fang-tasic sponsor! In addition to sponsoring our Oh! The Horror and Rock-N-Rolla challenges, Strange Skin is also sponsoring this hop! One lucky winner (participant or commenter) will win this:

Two rad images! And, since I am the very lucky sister of Pam, one of the 2 owners of Strange Skin (the other is Jorge…Pam’s boyfriend), I have all of their digis. So I decided to use the key for today’s project. And because it’s just freakin’ cool! Oh! And we also have a challenge for this hop. To use green and brown. Perfect for this key!

I kept it kinda simple because the key has so much detail on it. I used my watercolor markers to color it in. I adore this image. Then I paired it with a sentiment from Verve, and I used a texture stamp from Smeared Ink’s Quoth the Raven set. The little swirls with the sentiment are from Autumn Leaves.

Here’s a close up, so that you can see all of the shading I did and the detail in the key. You can click on any of my pictures to see them bigger.

I added some texture by using Distress Stickles on the brown paper. A wee bit of sparkle, but mostly texture. Just what the card needed! I hope you enjoyed my offering for today. be sure to visit the rest of the hoppers and show some love…then you’ll have a chance at winning the 2 Strange Skin digis! Have an inspiring day!

Echo Park Blog Hop with Imagine

Greetings! This is my second post for the day. This one is not part of the 31 Days of Halloween, but rather a super-duper blog hop that the Artists in Residence for Imagine are doing with Echo Park . So if you're here for my Day 7 project, please check out the post HERE . But before you do that, scroll on to check out this one. There are prizes up for grabs, so be sure to check out the Imagine Blog as well as the Echo Park Blogs for details. I created my background by applying Dandelion and Tangelo Memento Ink to my brayer. Then I sprayed it with Ink Potion No. 9 to help the colors blend and to act as an extender to keep the inks wet longer. After I rolled the colors out on to watercolor paper and let it dry, I stamped the lovely doily-like image from Echo Park's Simply Sweet Stamp Set with Grape Jelly Memento. I also received the super pretty Heart Doily Designer Die  which I used with a true purple cardstock. But it needed something....and in rolls the super fabul...
