Snowglobe Grumpie: Day 2 of 12 Days of Christmas

Greetings on this lovely Friday! I still cannot believe that is the last month of the year! Today I bring you my second card for the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Christmas. And not only is is Smeared Ink Day (where we are challenged to use only Smeared Ink Stamps on your projects), but Friday is also my day to show off some of the sick and twisted goodness that is Smeared Ink.  So, on to the goods…

Snowglobe-Grumpie-1

Ok, I didn’t use only Smeared Ink stamps…but I used two! The adorable Grumpie and sentiment is from the Lil Grumpies set, and the snowglobe is from Inkadinkado. I have had it forever, and I love putting all sorts of things in it. You may just see it again this month!

Snowglobe-Grumpie-2

I stamped the snowglobe first, then tried to get the Grumpie to sit on the base of the globe. It’s not easy! But, I think he’s fine where he is. I then embossed the globe with glitter powder for the globe itself, and gold for the base. Then I colored the Grumpie in with colored pencils. Phoenix told me to make him blue…so blue it is!

Snowglobe-Grumpie-3

I used my Martha Stewart cracked edge border and corner punches for the side and I embossed more glitter powder on to the blue cardstock.

Snowglobe-Grumpie-4

Here you can see the glitter better, as well as the pretty sheen on the metallic gold cardstock that I used. Oh! And I inked the edge of my card with grey ink, which really added a lot to the final look of the card.

Please be sure to visit the rest of the Jolly Bloggers, posted on my sidebar. I am so looking forward to what everyone has been cooking up! Especially Alex, who has teased us that her project for today is gonna be rad! I’m off to go and see!!! Have an inspiring day!!!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
