Winter Bombshell Angel: Day 8 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Christmas

I must start off today’s post by writing a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! to my daughter, Rhiannon. She is 2 years old today!!! I love you, Baby Rhi!!!

On to my card…remember the last Bombshell Stamps card I had made? Click HERE to check it out.  I had used Bombshell Angel along with stamps from the Pin-stripes set to make wings. Here’s another version of that idea…but done a whole lot softer.

Winter-Angel-1

Don’t these Pin-stripes make fab wings too? I’m telling you, you’ve gotta get that set!!! I colored my Angel using my EK Success Watercolor Markers, and I embossed the wings with a bright, shiny gold. The paper I used is definitely not Christmas-y…not even really Wintery, so I added the “Winter” definition stamp to kind of get that feeling of Winter in your head.

Winter-Angel-2

The definition was stamped in a pearly blue, and there are touches of glitter on the patterned paper. And, I added 3 Dew Drops (stuck down with Stickles), to the bottom of the card.

Winter-Angel-3

I think it’s really pretty, and totally different from that other card. Bombshell Stamps are so darn versatile! Now please go on and visit the rest of the Jolly Bloggers, posted on my sidebar. But first…here’s a look at me with my sweet, little Birthday Girl!!! This was taken on Sunday, when we had a teeny little party for her, before my husband had to go away on business.

Have an inspiring day!!!

Your card is gorgeous, and those are great wings too. I like that you didn't use wintery paper or images but totally get the feel after you used the definition.
Happy Birthday Baby Rhi! She's adorable :)

Happy 2nd Birthday. Birthday #2 here was so much fun for us. Now we'll be able to look forward to the second's second birthday in 2 years.

I love the soft colours you've used for your bombshell. I really think it's fantastic when you are able to make use of an image for another use and the pinstripes for wings is inspired

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off ...

Can you tel that I had soooooo much fun with her?!? It was a blast to rework her beautiful face and turn half of her into a sugar skull. The flowers are really what inspired me to do it. They are so big and be...
