SISC #38 & Day 5 of S&S 12 Days of Christmas

Hello! It’s a double post day! I have a new StampInsanity Challenge to share with you, as well as another card for the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Christmas. Let’s start with StampInsanity…

This week’s challenge is “All About Me!” Which, if you read my post from yesterday, isn’t tooo hard of a topic for me! ;} You are to make a card that you would give to yourself. Fun right?

All-About-Me-1

I think this card fits me to a tee! Bold colors, wacky patterns, and a little bit of glitter! This is one of the new Holiday Maddies. I bet you expected Nicholette or Pierette, right? Originally, I was going to use one of them…but then I remembered this Maddie, with her beautiful cape and her candle…and really that is me to the core.

All-About-Me-2

I colored her hair to look just like mine (of course!), and I gave her a purple cape…also just like mine! I used my colored pencils on her.

All-About-Me-3

The only thing that’s not me is the color of her eyes. I wish I had green eyes…I’ve got brown. The “Hard Rockin’” senti is also StampInsanity, of course! Here’s the rest of the Groovy Gurlz of Ward 2. Please show them some love!

On to my Christmas card. If you visited me on Monday, then you saw my Bleak December card featuring Poe peeking out of a beautiful wreath. I wanted to show you the wreath again, but done completely differently.

Wreath-1

This is a super easy card that has a lot of pop. I stamped my wreath and embossed it. But before I mounted it on to my card, I used a bunch of teeny red brads to look like berries.

Wreath-2

I added a sweet gold bow, and I also embossed the edges of the card in gold. Simple layout on this one, but I think it’s quite elegant. Now it’s time for you to visit the Jolly Bloggers…posted on my sidebar. Have an inspiring day!!!

Love your little Maddie card, she's awesome with her hair and cape to match yours. Your wreath card is beautiful, love the brad/berries and the gold embossing around the edge.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
