I have a frame to share with you today. I only used 1 color of paint, 5 stamps, 4 colors of ink and Amazing Glaze. And with just those supplies, I think the frame came out pretty cool!
I really recommend clicking on any of the photos to see them bigger, as there’s a lot of detail in the stamps I used. I used 3 stamps from Smeared Ink’s As Death set, and 2 from their Holy City set. Can you spot them all?
I obviously painted the frame in gray first. Then stamped all of my images in a black pigment ink (Color Box). I then embossed the entire frame with Judi Kins Amazing Glaze (love that stuff!).
Then I started to really play! I grabbed Fired Brick, Walnut Stain, and Vintage Photo Distress Ink, plus my Cut-N-Dry Nibs, and just rubbed color all over the frame. Then, I spritzed water on it to blend the colors together. Of course, the color doesn’t stick to where the embossing powder is, so the images are still visible. I repeated this step until I was satisfied, sans the water. Since the frame is made of wood, it not only maintains it’s dampness, but it also soaks the color up a bit…so I needed to go over some areas a few times.
After the colors were saturated enough, I was done! It was a pretty simple frame, but I think it came out pretty cool!
