Saying Goodbye to Friends Having Fun

It’s a sad day…It’s time to say goodbye to Friends Having Fun. I don’t know about you, but I had a blast during these 5 short months we’ve had. I loved coming up with the Color Challenges and playing along with the other groups. But as a farewell, here is a sketch challenge created by the super talented Dani…

Image

I created a layout that I think is quite appropriate…

FHF-Final-1

It’s called Moving Forward. As you can see, I flipped the sketch counter clockwise. Isn’t it appropriate for what is happening right now?

Here’s the original photo:

Check out that main of hair Rhiannon has!!!

FHF-Final-3

It reads: “I love you in this picture. I love the wind in your hair. I love seeing you in motion. You’re such a big girl. Moving forward.”

I took a doily and chalked it with some brown to pick up some of the pretty details on it. I used a punch from EK Success that reminds me of water, and some of my fave Daisiy D’s paper. In addition, I used some a Crafter’s Workshop stencil for my journaling, a couple of rhinestones, and a tiny font from Sizzix which I inked and chalked.

FHF-Final-2

I hope you can tell but my background cardstock (from Prism) is mottled…it really looks like sand! I use this cardstock whenever I’m doing something beachy. You can click on any of my photos to get a bigger view.

FHF-Final-4

So although it is a sad goodbye, I did have a wonderful time with my Friends!!! Thank you to all that participated in our challenges, thank you to Tonya for starting the FHF site, and thank you to Margie, who really did so much for us. But I especially want to thank my fantastic Kaleidoscope Krew! You ladies have ALL amazed me with your sick talents. It was an honor to work with all of you, and I truly hope that we can do it again! Alex, Alyssa, Danielle, Julie, and Laura…you ladies are all awesome! {{{Big Squeezes!!!}}}

So, hop on off to see the rest of the Friends one last time. Thank you again for being a part of Friends Having Fun!!!

Echo Park Blog Hop with Imagine

Greetings! This is my second post for the day. This one is not part of the 31 Days of Halloween, but rather a super-duper blog hop that the Artists in Residence for Imagine are doing with Echo Park . So if you're here for my Day 7 project, please check out the post HERE . But before you do that, scroll on to check out this one. There are prizes up for grabs, so be sure to check out the Imagine Blog as well as the Echo Park Blogs for details. I created my background by applying Dandelion and Tangelo Memento Ink to my brayer. Then I sprayed it with Ink Potion No. 9 to help the colors blend and to act as an extender to keep the inks wet longer. After I rolled the colors out on to watercolor paper and let it dry, I stamped the lovely doily-like image from Echo Park's Simply Sweet Stamp Set with Grape Jelly Memento. I also received the super pretty Heart Doily Designer Die  which I used with a true purple cardstock. But it needed something....and in rolls the super fabul...
