It’s a sad day…It’s time to say goodbye to Friends Having Fun . I don’t know about you, but I had a blast during these 5 short months we’ve had. I loved coming up with the Color Challenges and playing along with the other groups. But as a farewell, here is a sketch challenge created by the super talented Dani… I created a layout that I think is quite appropriate… It’s called Moving Forward. As you can see, I flipped the sketch counter clockwise. Isn’t it appropriate for what is happening right now? Here’s the original photo: Check out that main of hair Rhiannon has!!! It reads: “I love you in this picture. I love the wind in your hair. I love seeing you in motion. You’re such a big girl. Moving forward.” I took a doily and chalked it with some brown to pick up some of the pretty details on it. Can you believe it??? It’s almost time! Time for the release of Eclipse!!! I can hardly wait!!! As I have mentioned before, I am seeing a triple feature starting at 6:30 on Tuesday night! It’s gonna be great!!! Today Erica issued us the latest Pop Culture Challenge for Friends Having Fun . And it’s all about Eclipse!!! Make something Twi-Inspired! Easy-peasy! Plus, I of course had to partake in the 4th and final challenge for Artful INKables too! Their challenge was to create anything but a card. Cool! So…I made a bookmark. I am really into making these lately! And check this out…I didn’t use ANY paper!!! It’s tough to see all the detail in this pic…feel free to click on it to see it bigger! I used 2 Artful INKables stamps for this bookmark. And a whole lotta ink! Here’s a close up. Here’s what I wrote on the FHF Blog: Happy June!!! It's time for another Color Challenge with the Kaleidoscope Krew! This month, I chose some pretty wild colors... but don't be intimidated!!! Your mission is to work with Hot Pink, Lime Green, and Plum Crazy. Hot right??? Here's what I think of when I see these colors... the 80's, little girl's clothes, muscle cars, eyeshadow, hair color (wait...is that just me???). So many incredible options! Since the days of Twilight Tuesday, I have loved creating things with Dani’s sketches. So, now with Friends Having Fun, the same is true. Her sketches keep getting better and better! Take a look: Fab right? Love it! With it, I made a card for my Mom for Mother’s Day. The showpiece in this card is of course that gorgeous mermaid from Sweet Pea . I won her from Alex’s blog candy a short time ago. I got her in the mail on Friday, and had to color her in immediately! I also used some bamboo (on the red) from Inkadinkado and a grassy stamp from Judikins. The mermaid is of course colored with colored pencils and the background stamps are Versamarked and Clear embossed. Here’s a closeup of the mermaid: I love these colors. Hello! I cannot believe it’s already time for another Friends Having Fun Color Challenge! Here are the colors I chose for this month: Aren’t they pretty? I love how warm they are! This month, we were honored to be sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps . Jodie offered the Kaleidoscope Krew a digi to work with. I had such a hard time choosing! There were adorable monsters, cute dinosaurs… but then Laura brought the Skelekinz to my attention! They are SO cute! Here’s what I created: Isn’t she adorable? I have big plans for her. She will definitely be going on a layout of The Girl in her PJ’s. And I love her hair and rattle!!! Of course I used my colored pencils to color her in, and I aged the edges a bit with some Antique Linen Distress Ink and some Terra Cotta Chalk Ink. Yes! I did it! I made my Friends Having Fun card! We are not supposed to be stressing about these challenges (hence the “Fun!” part of the name), but I really wanted to play along. I loved Dani’s sketches from Twilight Tuesday (which I still miss so much!), so I really wanted to make something for her latest sketch! Take a peek. Ain’t it purdy??? It is until you see my version! It’s a bit off kilter wouldn’t you say? But that’s how I roll! I had this image from Smeared Ink’s Chicks Dig Guns collection for a while now. I knew it would work perfectly for this sketch. I think that this is my favorite image from that collection. She’s really pretty, I love what she’s wearing, and that gun just nasties the whole “pretty as a picture” image up! I think I have a touch of the flu. And considering I had both flu shots, that kinda stinks! Luckily, I had a project I was saving for an occasion when I didn’t have time to create something. Meet Pierette! How cool is she?!?! She is part of the newest release from StampInsanity , Les Coquettes collection. I loved her the moment I saw her. Her hair is sick, and her name and style made me instantly think of Pauly Perette from NICS (LOVE her!!!). So here is a little ode to Abby! I colored her in with watercolor markers from EK Success and my Spectracolor colored pencils. And I added a touch of glitter with my Sakura Stardust pen on her eyes and heart, plus American Crafts Glitter Pen on her fab dress. The color is s abit off on this pic… there ws a bit of a glare. But I wanted to use this photo so that you can see that I used that amazing mirror finish paper that I had used on a Greeting Farm card once before. See my reflection???
