July Bombshell Hump Day Hop!

Greetings! It’s time for another Bombshell Stamps hop, which sadly means that I am coming to the end of my month-long term as a Guest Designer. It makes me sad… But have no fear! I will of course continue to play along with the other challenges, and I’ll have some of my own ideas too! ;}

You should be coming from my lovely friend, Meredith’s blog.

This is what Kas challenged us to do this time around:

She's a Firecracker Alright!
I would love to see something along the lines of:
1) Red - White - Blue
2) Firecrackers (Bombshells)
3) Military
4) or sparkling like a firework!

Here is my lil project for today:

Please pardon the awful photos…I just ran out of time! I will try to take some prettier ones! You can click on any of them to see them bigger.

See the sheen on my stripey paper? It’s got a beautiful luster to it. Kind of golden. It’s from Reminisce, and I knew it was perfect for this challenge!

You can see it a little better here. I also used some gold doilies that I scored from my mom’s house (don’t worry! I asked first!). Originally I was going to draw some fireworks in using gold Stickles, but then I remembered I had the doilies, and I knew that would be even better! It has the look of fireworks, but done just a bit differently!

And of course I used my awesome Pirate’s Life stamp set! I gave my girl a little tat on her arm…to cover up an oops! I had colored in the white highlights of her hair using a red watercolor marker (lemme also mention that I embossed my images), and the marker doesn’t dry on the embossed parts. Well, I accidentally ran my finger over her hair before I cleaned it up with a paper towel! She had a red splotch! So, I inked her up! Good save, right? The fibers I used are a midnight blue with clear tinsel. Again, I am sorry for the crummy pictures!

Now it’s time to hop over to my awesome friend Danielle’s blog! But below you will find the whole list, in case you missed anyone!

Quick side note Number 1: I would like to give a HUGE “thank you!” to Shannon and the rest of the Bombshell girls! I have had a fantastic time this month, and I look forward to playing with you super talented ladies some more! This is SO not the end of me!!!

Quick side note Number 2: My fellow S&S DT member, Lady Brayton, created this amazingly fantastic card, using little old ME as the inspiration! She saw a bombshell-esque poster, and made her own version to look like yours truly! Please click HERE to see the whole story, and show her some well-deserved love! You are my sinister sister, LB!!!

Enjoy the rest of the hop! Have an inspiring day!!!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
