I’m Finally Making Christmas Cards!

So it’s December 3rd and I am as of yesterday just starting my Holiday cards. I’m not making cards for everyone though, so the folks that are getting the pre-fabbed ones are already out in the mail… so that’s something right???

Today I thought I’d share with you one style that I came up with yesterday. It features one of my fave holiday stamps. A gorgeous pine tree. I love trees. All trees. I have several tree stamps. I am a tree hugger… it’s true!

I have used this stamp (from Inkadinkado) for lots of cards over the past few years… decorating it’s boughs in all different ways. But this time, I used nonconventional colors and Stickles! Yum!

It’s a simplistic design, but I thought they came out really pretty. The one thing I struggled with was how to end the ribbon. Do I make a slot in the card and tie it? Do I just cut it at the end of the card? This is what I came up with…

I thought these epoxy stickers I had laying around added a sweet and unexpected touch! They are from JoAnns, they’re like 4 years old, but I thought they were perfect!

Now I am off to make some more! I actually came up with a couple of other designs last night, so I will be posting those soon!

These are wonderful xmas cards! For my bows like that, I put the strip where I want it and stick it down then cut a smaller bow sized piece and tie the bow around the strip i put down already :D you can move it around then too...because I change things WAY too much ;)
Miss working with you beyond words... Hope you are feeling better...I am almost back to normal thank goodness Xx

The cards are beautiful! I love the ribbon. Could you do a tutorial on how to make such a pretty bow because I suck at them? I haven't started my xmas cards yet and at this point I am tired of making them for this stupid craft fair I am in. I think I might send spring cards per your email the other day! :)

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
