21st Century Pillow Book

  Hello! This week, the Stampendous team has been having a Poinsettia Party! I decided to work with the new Poinsettia Parts Perfectly Clear stamp set. I stamped the poinsettia outline with VersaFine ink on to Smooth Bristol Paper and I colored it with Zig Clean Color Markers. I fussy cut it out and then decided to stamp the flower again to use some of the petals as leaves. Then I decided to break out one of my all-time favorite stencils, the Houndstooth . I applied VersaMark ink with a sponge dauber, making sure to not apply it perfectly even, and then I applied Vintage Plum Sparkly Embossing Powder and heat set it. I like that's it is just a little messy and worn looking against the super clean and graphic poinsettia. I added a few clear sequins and a simple sentiment from the Deck Your Home Perfectly Clear Stamp Set. I also inked the edges of my card base to add just a bit more pink. That's it for me today. This week, the Stampendous team is "Playing with Paste." Embossing Paste that is! When working with stencils, embossing paste is a basic supply that is easy to work with, and you can do so many cool things with. Today, I am sharing a lovely holiday card that uses the Peace on Earth stencil, and lots of glitter.  Instructions: I started off with navy blue cardstock and taped the Peace on Earth stencil to it. I applied Pearlescent Embossing Paste using her paste spreader and immediately sprinkled the Multi Crystal Glitter Mix (from the White Encrusted Jewel Kit) to the paste. I then let that layer dry. Once dry, I cut the navy cardstock down and rounded the corners. I then cut out a mat of white cardstock and rounded those corners as well. Next, I used her Versamark Watermark ink pad to "wet" the edges of the white cardstock, and applied Crystal Embossing Powder around the perimeter. Greetings! Welcome to another fabulous StampInsanity Challenge! This week, both Wards have projects to share with you in honor of a brand new holiday release! Check it out! For this week’s challenge, we have a sketch to play with. Here’s my creation using one of the fabulous new Maddies and “Peace” sentiment. Isn’t she lovely??? I had such a blast coloring her in! I love her headpiece. It reminded me of the American Girl book from the 80’s…is it Kirstin??? But I digress… I colored her with my colored pencils, and added some Stickles to her headpiece. I LOVE the paper I used with her…it matched her dress perfectly! And the red on the paper is actually foil, so in real life it has a fabulous shine. I used some Glimmer Mist on the Peace for a bit more sparkle too. Plus some inking around the edges of course! So hurry and grab this beautiful set! Your Holiday cards will be stunning!!! Greetings! It’s Tuesday, so it is time for another Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge! So it’s December 3rd and I am as of yesterday just starting my Holiday cards. I’m not making cards for everyone though, so the folks that are getting the pre-fabbed ones are already out in the mail… so that’s something right??? Today I thought I’d share with you one style that I came up with yesterday. It features one of my fave holiday stamps. A gorgeous pine tree. I love trees. All trees. I have several tree stamps. I am a tree hugger… it’s true! I have used this stamp (from Inkadinkado) for lots of cards over the past few years… decorating it’s boughs in all different ways. But this time, I used nonconventional colors and Stickles! Yum! It’s a simplistic design, but I thought they came out really pretty. The one thing I struggled with was how to end the ribbon.
