Super Duper Shaker

Hello! Today I am sharing a really fun shaker card with Cotton Candy Sparkle Blends from Doodle Paper Playground. I just bought the whole "How You Bean?" set from Lawn Fawn, specifically to use with the many Sparkle Blends I have in my stash.

I typically prefer bright, bold colors...but there's something so fabulous about the Cotton Candy Sparkle Blend. Yup, it's definitely super sweet, but it's also opalescent and shiny. It's one of my favorite Sparkle Blends. Also inside the jar are a few stars that come with the How You Bean Add On Die set, and I stamped faces on a few of them, which I think makes the shaker even more joyful.

My background was created with a leftover piece of watercolor paper that had been dipped in in Distress Oxide Inks. Then I stenciled the Waves and Dots stencil with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide.

In the photo above, you can see all of the tiny elements that make up this particular Sparkle Blend. I love the itty bitty opalescent stars, as well as the crystals. There are even some butterflies! My sentiment was created with a couple of Lawn Fawn stamp sets. The "Everything is" and "fun with you" is from the Love You S'more set, and the "super duper is from the new Reveal Wheel Sentiments. I added a piece of patterned paper to the bottom of the card to create a ground for the jar to sit on.

I tell ya, shaker cards just make people happy. I was showing the completed card to my husband, kids, and my mom, and their faces just lit right up. They couldn't stop shaking them, and they just kept telling me how fun shakers are. So if you need to brighten someone's day, give them a shaker. You'll be seeing a lot of these jars from me, as I think they will be great for so many occasions. Changing out the Sparkle Blends inside will totally change the mood of the jar. I may just be trying it out with one of the new releases that will be coming out next month! Remember, you can only get Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground from White Rose Crafts LLC. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
