Birthday Bash

Hello! My husband's birthday was at the end of April, and he loves when I make shaker cards. So, I knew I had to make one for him using one of the latest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. I decided to go with the Birthday Bash Sparkle Blends, because he loves bright, bold colors and because...well....it is a birthday card. ;) In this blend, you'll find red, green, purple, blue, and gold sequins. Some are in the shape of balloons! There are also little stars and microbeads. This is definitely a party in a shaker!

Beyond being inspired by Birthday Bash, I had just gotten Altenew's Bells and Bows Stamp Set, and I just had to use that awesome large bow that's in the set. I stamped 3 of the 4 layers using inks from Imagine. Doesn't it look real?!

My papers are from DCWV, and they have fun metallic turquoise accents on them, which I thought really worked with the Sparkle Blend. If you click on my photo, you can see what's in the shaker a little better. My sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp's CZ Design Salty Ladies No. 1. I only stamped the "happy birthday" from this sentiment. The last word is "beyotch" and while I think that's a hysterical sentiment, I didn't really want to call my husband a beyotch. Ha!

Needless to say, my husband LOVED his card. I am really grateful that he appreciates my creations and always likes to learn how I make things. He's going to be shaking this card quite a bit, I think. Make sure you check out the Birthday Bash Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground over at White Rose Crafts LLC. Each Sparkle Blend is limited edition. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Love is Love with Nathalie Kalbach and Friends

The Stampendous team is showcasing the fabulous stamps and stencils from Nathalie Kalbach this week, and some of Nathalie's friends have been joining us. There are 3 prize packaages up for grabs, and anyone can win! Visit the Stampendous Blog for full details. I have been thinking a lot about the recent tragedy to the LGBT community in Orlando, and I decided to use Nathalie's Urban Scribble set for today's project. I started off with the foam stamp (the blank side) and colored a rainbow on it using my Tombow Dual Brush markers. I sprayed the foam stamp with a little water to re-wet the colors, and get some nice splotches. I applied the stamp, then I went back with the detail stamp and inked it up with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Then, using the stencil that comes in the Urban Scribble set, plus the Picasso tool, I stenciled some pixelated clouds in the background. I hand wrote "Love is Love." I decided to not make this a card..but rather some

Day 1 of 31 Days: Come as You Aren't

Greetings! It's officially the most wonderful time of the year! Today is Day 1 of the 31 Days of Halloween. I have participated in every 31 Days (what are we at? Year 5?) and I am so excited to be doing it again. For my first project. I use a bunch of Stampendous' newest Halloween images. I started off with the fantastic witch label from the Halloween Labels Cling and Die Set  and colored it with Zig Clean Color Markers. I then stamped the spiderweb and a spider from the Spider Fear set and embossed with with Star Dust embossing powder. I created my card base out of Sweet Potato cardstock and stenciled the Swirls Stencil with Gray Flannel Memento ink. I didn't make it solid, rather I wanted the stenciled image to fade in and out of the background. Then I inked up the bottom edge of the card base with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed Marcastie Embossing Powder on top. The card needed a little something further, so I stamped a sentiment from the Spooky Wishes
