Day 11 of 31: Dilly Beans and Halloween Part 2

Hello! It's Friday, so not only is it Day 11 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween, but it's also Dilly Beans day! The theme this week continues with Halloween...because let's face it; Megan (owner and designer of Dilly Beans) LOVES Halloween just like all of us! So I hope that if you have some Dilly images, you play along with us this week.

I love this witch. Isn't she adorable? And even her spider....cah-yute! I colored the image with my Spectrum Noirs.

Oh look! More purple! I told you I loved to work with it! ;) I really love Megan's frames. They add so much to her images, and I find that they often make coming up with the layout of my projects easier.

Do you find that when you do a lot of projects at once, you gravitate towards the same materials or patterns? I have used the wavy burgundy paper before....but it just works so well with Halloween. And actually, this project was created first. I hope you will join us at Dilly Beans this week. Please visit the rest of the gals at the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog.

***A few of you mentioned yesterday that you have never heard of embossing paste before. And by the way, I love when you ask questions! So. Embossing paste is a thick, fabulous "goop" (I use the term lovingly) from Dreamweaver Stencils. Check out THIS LINK. You can get it in white, black, silver, and more! You spread it on top of your stencil with a palette knife, kind of like icing a cake. Ad because it has such wonderful body, you can give it peaks, or keep it smooth, etc. If you have stencils, you have got to try this stuff out! If you don't have stencils, get some! Dreamweaver is awesome!

So that's all for today! Please swing by the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creep-tastic day!

Another great card you've shared. The spider looks happy.

I think because it iss rare for me to get a larger space of time to craft, when I do and I have all my supplies "on the table" I want to use them in as many ways as I can.

Yup, I used what is out. Part of my reason for it, is that I'm to lazy to put it up when I'm done. Love that image! You did a great job with the colors.

Fabulous project. Love that little witch. Her spider is one I could handle. Thank you so much for explaining embossing paste and giving the link. I think I may just have to try some of this stuff.

You do wonders with those Spectrum Noir pens! Each section of the design is a little treasure! I'm going digging through my drawers (my craft drawers) 'cause I know I bought some of that stuff many years ago!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
