Intergalactic Sugar Skull

Greetings! Today I'm sharing a card with what may be my favorite Sparkle Blend from the April 2018 release. It's called Intergalactic, and its filled with teals, purples, blues, and hot pinks. Some of my favorite colors! It's got regular sequins, stars, opalescent gems, tiny beads, and lots of other bits that you'll love looking at. I decided to make a shaker out of one of my all-time favorite Sugar Skulls. It's from Dilly Beans and if you've been a long-time follower of mine, you may recognize it. I thought the eyes would make great shakers. If you'll notice, the right eye is right at the edge of the drawing, so I opted to cut a border around it so that I had room to apply my foam to close the shaker correctly. I kept the edge wavy to work with the wavy edge of the digi. I colored the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I chose colors that matched very close to those in the Shaker Blend. For my card background, I used Rose Bud Fireworks! Spr...

Day 10 of 31: Sugar Skull

I always need to do at least one Day of the Dead project for every 31 Days of Halloween. So for Day 10, I have a project using a fabulous Sugar Skull from Dilly Beans . I love Megan's Sugar Skulls, they're always fun to color. I used my Zig Clean Color markers for this one. For my background, I used the Waves and Dots Stencil from Dreamweaver (via Stampendous ), along with several colors of Dylusions Sprays. I of course flipped the sprayed up stencil on to a new piece of paper to get the negative image, and so that I don't waste any of that fabulous spray. I'll use that part another day. Because the sprays are so easy to work with, this is another card that came together fairly quickly. And right now, I am all about getting things done fast. A little ribbon and a black mat was the only other additions I really needed to get this card done. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers by checking out the links on my side bar. I also have another p...

Snowmen and Anything Goes

Hello! I have 2 projects to share with you today. The first is for Wicked Wednesday , and the challenge is Snowmen. The second is for A Step in the Dark , and the theme is Anything Goes. We are sponsored by Sami Stamps this week, and I worked with their My Snowey Friend image. Very appropriate since Long Island just got a foot (and more) of snow dumped on us Monday. Too bad the snow is too powdery to actually build a snowman though. I used watercolor markers for everything but the skin. I just cannot find the right color watercolor markers for skin. So I had to use my Spectrum Noirs. I added a little washi tape and a simple star button to finish it off. This is such a clean image, I didn't want to overdo it with embellishing. A Step in the Dark is sponsored by Dilly Beans this week. I used one of my favorite images from Megan, Day of the Dead Frida #338. I colored her with my watercolor markers as well. I'm quite pleased with her hair. I have never done it prim...

Left of Center with Dilly Beans

Hello! Did you know that I am now a part of Left of Center Creative Challenges ? I am! And I am stoked about it. This group focuses on dark-themed challenges, which is so up my alley. This challenge theme is Anything Goes, as long as it's dark/creepy/fantasy, etc. And, we are sponsored by Dilly Beans , which is another DT I am on. I used Dracula's Lollipop for this card. I colored the image with watercolor markers as well as alcohol markers. Yeesh. I don't know what happened to the color on this photo but he looks reeeeally yellow! Not the case in real life! Anywho, my little teeth in the lower right corner were made with a stamp from Inkadinkado and Shrinky Dinks. I thought they were perfect. Ahhhh....the color is good here. I kept the card clean and simple. I hope you like it! Please be sure to visit the rest of the "B" Team for LOC HERE . Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Dreamweaver Extra Week of Posts: Day 30 of 31 Days of Halloween

Greetings! I have a super quick card to share today, using a Dilly Beans skull and Dreamweaver Stencils ' Nesting Frames. All month long, the Dream Team has been serving up all sorts of holiday goodness. Not just Halloween, but Thanksgiving and Christmas too. I of course, had to stick with Halloween. I colored her up with colored pencils, and used two of the Nesting Frames dies from Dreamweaver Stencils. Have you been keeping track with who has won this month over at Dreamweaver? Did you win? What stencil did you choose? Are you hooked??? How great is my base card? Scored a pack of them (with different designs) at Michaels. $2.99 for 40! I may need to get anther pack. My fab-u-lous velvet ribbon is from May Arts . That's about it for me today! Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Eye See You: Day 26 of 31 Days

We are SO close to the end of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. I have so many more projects that I want to make, and very few days left to make/showcase them. Well, with all of the chaos of the month, I didn't post my latest card for the Dilly Beans challenge. Thankfully, my project has been doe for a while, so it is on the Dilly Beans Blog. The newest challenge is to make a round card or use lots of circles. I went with the latter. I always use this fantastic eyeball for the 31 Days. It's too cool to leave out. It's from Inkadinkado, and it's one of my favorite stamps. I paired it up with one of Megan's fantastic Big Eye Girls, and I colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers. I love coloring these Big Eye Girls. Playing with colors and shadows is so fun with them. I used a sentiment also from Inkadinkado, and irRESISTables spray from Imagine Crafts. It's glossy and has a great texture to it. Love that stuff! I hope you'll play al...

Flowers and Day of the Dead: Day 13 of the 31 Days of Halloween

I enjoyed Saturday's post so much, that I decided to go with another Day of the Dead project. This time, my feature image is from Dilly Beans . And, since I am double posting with Dreamweaver Stencils today, I used their gorgeous Corner Flowers stencil as another focal point. I colored this beautiful image from Dilly Beans first, with my watercolor markers. Then, I started to play with my stencil! I used Radiant Neon inks (frm Imagine Crafts), and sponge daubers to apply them. Then, I embossed the flowers with a clear powder. I love the texture and shine the flowers have now. I used 2 different ribbons from Maya Road (see the puffy blue trim at the top?), and they finished this card off. My post for Dreamweaver today is verrrry different from this one. I hope you like it! Please be sure to check out the rest of the 31 Days of Halloween Wicked Bloggers. They are all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creep-tastic day!

Stripes and Chevrons: Day 10 of 31 Days of Halloween

Greetings, my spooktacular fiends  friends! Today, there is a new Dilly Beans challenge, which just so happens to work with the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. The theme is Halloween! I made a quickie ATC. I love this little skellie! I colored him with watercolor markers and fussy cut him. I had these cute little stars from K & Co. which made embellishing the ATC nice and quick. A little bit of Yellow Stickles and that's it. I hope you'll play along with Dilly Beans . Be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creep-tatsic day!

2 ATC's: Day 8 of the 31 Days of Halloween

Hello and welcome to Day 8 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween! I've got 2 ATC's for you today. One is for Wicked Wednesday , and the other is for A Step in the Dark . Wicked Wednesday is sponsored by Delicious Doodles this week and the theme is Feathers/Wings. I love this raven digi. I added a wee bit of color and spray to the raven, and I stenciled my background with Dreamweaver 's Damask stencil. This "creepy" fella is from Dilly Beans, who is the sponsor for the latest A Step in the Dark Challenge. I colored him with colored pencils. I used a fun purple luster to emboss the sentiment, which is from Recollections. So I'm off to make more Halloweenie stuff! Please visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, listed in my sidebar, as well as the 2 fantastic challenge blogs I am playing along with today. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fang-tastic day!

Too Cute to Spook: Day 4 of 31 Days of Halloween

I have a kind of cute card for today. Don't worry, tomorrow will be creepier. I promise. I used an image from Dilly Beans . Love this little monster! I colored him with watercolors. Same with my pumpkin punch. And my sentiment is from Tiddly Inks . My background was done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Dreamweaver Stencils is now starting to create embossing folders, but as of right now they only have Christmas folders, so I thought it'd be ok to use this one here. I'll be dual posting tomorrow, as I'll have another project over at the Dreamweaver Stencils blog. So I'll see ya on the flip side! Thanks for stopping by. Have a creeptastic day!

Summer Lovin' with Dilly Beans

Hello! Today I have an ATC I made for the latest Dilly Beans challenge that was introduced last Friday. The theme is Summer Lovin'. I colored this pretty flower using alcohol markers, and the blue background was chalked. One of my favorite things about Summer is the beautiful array of flowers that are everywhere. Have you played along with us for this challenge? Come on over to the Dilly Beans blog to do so! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Masculine/For Dad with Dilly Beans

Hello there! I have a new Dilly Beans challenge to share with you today. The new challenge is Masculine/For Dad. Here's my card. Couldn't you see a guy with lots of ink digging this? I love the Dilly Image I used. It's Sugar Skull Framed # 416. I colored it with alcohol markers.  My background was a blast to make. I used 3 stencils from Dreamweaver Stencils to sort of re-create the flower and swirl on the Dilly image.  I used Corner Flowers for the leaves, Amsterdam Flourish , and the Lotus as my focal flower. I used Versa Fine inks from Tsukineko and a couple of inks from Color Box. I applied them with a stencil brush and daubers, and added a layer of clear embossing powder on top. I love the end result of the card. Please be sure to visit the Dilly Beans challenge blog to see what the rest of the team has cooked up. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Wicked Wednesday & A Step in the Dark

Hello and welcome to challenge #3 with A Step in the Dark , and the latest challenge for Wicked Wednesday . This time around we ASitD is sponsored by Dilly Beans , which makes me happy because I am on the DT for Dilly and I love the images! For WW, we are sponsored by The Stamping Chef . First up is ASitD. I used Monster Family Reunion for my card. Aren't they funny? I colored them with alcohol markers. And here's my ATC for Wicked Wednesday. I used Cogsley Copperpot . I loved coloring her! I cropped her quite a bit to work with my ATC so that she wouldn't be itty bitty. Steampunk is just so much fun! She was also colored with alcohol markers, and I used a fun cog punch plus some real watch parts. They make such fun embellishments. So of course, I hope you will play along with both of these great challenges. Please visit the Step in the Dark Blog as well as the Wicked Wednesday Blog to see what the rest of the fabulous teams created! Thanks for stopping by...

Based on a Song with Dilly Beans

Hello out there! It's time for a new Dilly Beans challenge. This 2 week challenge is "Based on a Song." I decided to go with 311's Daisy Cutter. You can check out the lyrics HERE . Here's the card I created using Poppy Set. I colored this cutie with my Spectrum Noir markers. So why 311? My kids, especially my daughter, really love 311. I know. Probably not a group you'd think a 5 and 7 year old would love...but they do. And I'm cool with that! Please be sure to visit the Dilly Beans challenge blog to see what the rest of the team has come up with. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Flowerful: Dilly Beans

Greetings! It's time for a new Dilly Beans challenge! The latest challenge is "Flowerful." So bust out some pretty petals and get fancy!   Isn't this cheery? I used alcohol markers to color in my Dilly image, and Distress Inks for the sentiment, which is from Ginger's House .  I was really trying to channel Spring with this one. It's just so cold in NY still! Though, I have some of my beloved crocuses blooming outside, which always makes me smile. I''d like to point out, that not all glitter glue is created equal. The pink isn't Stickles from Ranger. Look at how gloopy it is! And uneven. The Mermaid Stickles looks so much better. Only Stickles for me from now on! That was your public service announcement for the day. ;) So are you going to play along? Visit the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog to see even more Flowerful challenges. Thanks for stopping by Have an inspiring day!

Pink and Green with Dilly Beans and DICC

Hello! I am sharing yesterday's Dilly Beans challenge with you today, plus the new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge . The Dilly Beans challenge this week is Pink and Green. As much as I love making dark, gothic pieces, I do love pink and green and a color combo. That sure is a lot of pink and green! I used my watercolor markers to color her in. At DICC, we are sponsored by The Stamping Boutique. Here's what I made. It's an ATC. And I used #'s 1, 2, 5, 6, and 9. But you need to go to the DICC Blog to see what the itinerary is! ;) I used colored pencils to color in this image. It's a cheery little ATC. I hope you will play along with these challenges.
