Day 10 of 31: A 2-fer with Rick St. Dennis and Dreamweaver Stencils

Greetings, my ghoulish friends! I have 2 projects for you to check out, for two fantastic DT's. The first is Rick St. Dennis, and the other is Dreamweaver Stencils.

This is BeWitching. Ain't she though? I had a great time coloring her. I love her cape, and her ruffles. And hey! I got lucky and my purples don't look un-purple today! ;)

Again, I broke out the Spectrum Noirs to color her up. My sentiment is from Tiddly Inks, and the punch I used is from EK Success. I think this witch is rad.

I am sharing this card also on the Airless Chambers Blog today.

Now, on to my Dreamweaver Stencils project. You may recall from last week that the challenge for the month is "Mysterious and Magical." I hope you like my latest offering for this challenge.

I started off with the awesome Stone Wall stencil. I embossed it, rather roughly, with white embossing paste. I then buffed on a few shades of Distress Ink. I used Peeled Paint to make it look a bit mossy. Then, I embossed the Crows with Black Embossing Paste. The pastes I used are both from Dreamweaver. After they dried, I cut them out.

Check out the fabulous texture you can create with the paste! I know my foam dots are visible...I wanted you to see the dimension. And I a ran out of black foam dots! For my background, I tore a few pieces of various browns. I used a Martha Stewart Tombstone punch and coordinating stamp, and my bat fence is also from Martha Stewart. The "Nevermore" is from one of my favorite Smeared Ink sets, Quoth the Raven.

So what do you think? I certainly had a great time making both of these pieces. Below is the link list for the "B" Team for Dreamweavers Stencils. Swing by and sat hello! Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creep-tastic day!

A congress of crows! I wonder what they are discussing.
The mossy look turned out wonderfully. I doubt it could be done better.

And your purples are purplishious!

Alison, both of your offerings are amazing. I definitely love how you colored that rad witch. The crows look like they are planning something sinister. One question...what is embossing paste? I have never heard of it.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
