2 Tags for Day 19 of 31 Days of Halloween

I have 2 tags to share with you today. One is cute, and the other…not so much. Let’s start with cute…

Vamp-Rye-Tag-1

I used Vampire Rye from The Wild Flower Kids…who just happens to be sponsoring 31 Days today! So if you happen to find Rye hangin’ out in a weird place…you’ve gotta email Terra! Visit her blog for all the deeets.

I made this tag for Phoenix. Shhhh! Don’t tell him! He’ll get it on Halloween! I think he came out adorable! I love his single fang that’s showing. You can click on any of my photos to see them bigger.

Vamp-Rye-Tag-2

The color came out way off in this pic… I am afraid to say it but I think there may be something wrong with my camera! The color is often wrong, and it’s just not focusing anymore. Yikes!!! I cannot live without my camera!!!

Anyway…Vampire Rye is colored with my colored pencils, and I stuck him on a tag. I added some red Stickles to the edges, a “boo” at the top and some of my fabulous fibers that I have in my stash. Wouldn’t you love to win him???

Now on to the not so cute…be forewarned…this one is creeeepy!

Mummy-Tag-1

This is one of the latest (and 1 of my new fave!) images from Strange Skin. It’s from their 2nd Famous Monster collection. I love all things Egyptian and this is no exception. I will be using this digi a LOT! I have plenty of ideas for him…one including using some real hieroglyphics!

Mummy-Tag-3

This guy is also done up with colored pencils, and I have to say…I think he looks awesome! I mounted him on another tag that I had made, and I wrapped the tag using masking tape. I totally swiped that idea from Kapree’s Blog. She made an awesome book!!! I distressed the tape using Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Then, I took the bugs stencil from my Martha Stewart cupcake stencil collection (what a fabulous purchase that was!), and inked them all over with Black Soot Distress Ink.

Mummy-Tag-2

Here’s the problem though…the ink can be wiped off! So I tried to Mod Podge it (after I took these pics). BAD idea!!! The ink wiped right off!!! Luckily, I only did a teeny part of the bottom, and I was able to clean off the Mod Podge. I guess I’ll just use some spray sealer…or go over it with embossing powder…but I really don’t want it shiny, so I probably won’t go that route. Once I figure that out, I will re-ink the bugs that got wiped off. Any other suggestions?

I hope you liked my tags! I’ll probably have a card to share tomorrow. For now, please visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, posted on my sidebar. Have an inspiring day!!!

PS: There was a bit of a mix up with the hidden image. Terra hasn't been able to be on the computer, so instead of it being today...there will be a hidden image tomorrow. :}

Did you try a heat gun? I have found, that when stuff wipes off, or won't dry correctly, a heat gun works for me. Good luck!

LOVE both tags!! You are a coloring genius!

Love your tags! I like that you use a different shape on the first one, great idea. The second one is way cool, love the macking tape and bugs and that mummy is colored wonderfully, looks old and dusty.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
