Ecah month over at Smeared & Smudged we have a several challenges such as Oh! The Horror, and the 2 Sketch Challenges. But there’s also Rock N Rolla and our Guest Design Team member’s Challenge. This month’s Rock N Rolla Challenge is the video for Living Dead Girl by Rob Zombie. Our GDT is none other than Barb from Haunted Design House! Purrrfect!!! Rad video and fabulous GDT!
Let’s start with Barb’s Challenge. As a GDT, Barb gets to offer up a challenge for all to participate in…and I just had to play along with this one!!!
I challenge you to create a project
paying homage to one of the Goddesses of Harvest.
You may only use warm, Fall colors and you must also have at least one rubber-stamped image (this is Smeared & Smudged after all!).
Ooh! So many things I could do for this challenge! But, as I am low on time I couldn’t go too over the top. I think I came up with something really cool! Remember that tree I told you about in Salem, Mass? The one I love to climb up and sit in for a while? Well, when we were there in September, I noticed that some of the bark had fallen off of the tree. In big chunks. So I asked the tree if I could have some of it as a memento. Of course it said yes! So with that, here is my project…
I used the Earth Goddess from Smeared Ink’s Goddess collection. I colored her in colors of the Fall. Warm oranges, yellows, golds and reds. But I kept her eyes green, as she is a Goddess of the Earth!
She’s fiery, but not in a scary way. I adhered her on to one of the pieces of bark that I had gotten. I could use her on an alter or a shrine now!
I hesitated on adding some glittery goodness to the bark, as I didn’t want it to seem silly…But I think it’s perfect! It looks like fairies have come along to pay homage!
Here’s another shot of the shiny “fairy kisses.” Pretty right? See the teeny stars?
Now for Rock N Rolla. I love Rob Zombie. He’s amazing. So I was totally inspired by his video. Here’s something really cool though… Tiddly Inks is this month’s sponsor for RNR, so Christy Croll, the fabulous owner/artist of TI decided to create a Rock N Rolla digi specifically for the S&S Design Team! How rad is that?!?! Here’s my creation, inspired by Living Dead Girl…
The video has an old school movie reel feel to it (if that makes any sense), so there’s a sort of halo around the edge of the entire video. That’s what really inspired me here. I also liked the captions. One of them was “The dead walk…” So I changed it for my little Rock N Rolla girl!
I wanted to keep the card fairly simple, as the video doesn’t have too much going on in the background. Plus, she’s too cute to hide with assorted stuff! I look forward to using her again soon! Thanks Christy, for being so generous and awesome!!!
I have some exciting news! Tiddly Inks just happens to be the 31 Days sponsor for today! Isn’t that fab? So please visit Kelli’s Blog for all of the details. I hope you liked today’s offerings! Now please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, listed on my sidebar. Have an inspiring day!
