21st Century Pillow Book

Hello! Can you believe that it is the last day of August? July took it's sweet time, but August just flew! It makes me so sad that Summer is coming to an end, but I am looking forward to the Fall. Last week, I got to go to the Scrapbook and Stamp Expo in Edison, NJ where I had an amazing time with my husband and met up with a couple of my crafty friends. I also got to meet Gina K, which was the highlight of the day! She is just wonderful, and I was so excited to see her demonstrate the Wreath Builder in person. Of course, I had to get one, but alas...the Wreath Builder Templates were out of stock. The Autumn Wreath Builder stamps were still available, so I grabbed one of those...and here I sit as I wait for my Templates to arrive. But, I couldn't wait any longer to use my new stamps, so I used them to create a non-wreath card. Hello! I've got a shaker card to share with you today, ad it features the " Something Wicked " Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I LOVE this new Sparkle Blend because it has shades of purples, blue, black and silver. Plus!!! It's got little sequins with black and white stripes, and teeny fimo pieces that have witch hats and ghosts on it! It's almost like Amber made this blend for me! ;) Of course, I created this card based on the colors and vibe of this particular Sparkle Blend. I went through all of my Halloween stamps (that took a while!) and came across this great witch silhouette from Recollections (it's a Michaels brand). I stamped her directly on to acetate with StazOn Ink . Next I chose a purple cardstock for my top layer and die cut a circle that would accommodate the size of my stamped image, plus extra room to see the Sparkle Blends moving and shaking! I inked the edges of the purple with Shimmer Silver Delicata Ink from Imagine . ...

Hiya! My latest card features stamps from The Ink Road. I really love this company. I love the snarky sentiments, the encouraging words, the fun designs, the unique sets, and the owner Lara is pretty incredible. I was inspired not only by the Mug Life and Snarks and Recreation stamp sets that I used, but also by Imagine's August Color of the Month , which is Lavender. *At the time that I wrote this post, The Ink Road's website was down for inventory, which is why I didn't give specific links to the stamp sets. I will add them when the site is back to normal. I started off by stamping the sentiment (from the Snarks and Recreation stamp set) on to white cardstock with VersaMark ink, and then I heat embossed it with Amethyst Embossing Powder from Stampendous. Then I die cut it with a Fitted Frame from Set B. Next, I inked the edges with Pretty Petunia VersaMagic ink . I love the soft, chalky finish this ink gives.   Hello! This week, the Stampendous team has been having a Poinsettia Party! I decided to work with the new Poinsettia Parts Perfectly Clear stamp set. I stamped the poinsettia outline with VersaFine ink on to Smooth Bristol Paper and I colored it with Zig Clean Color Markers. I fussy cut it out and then decided to stamp the flower again to use some of the petals as leaves. Then I decided to break out one of my all-time favorite stencils, the Houndstooth . I applied VersaMark ink with a sponge dauber, making sure to not apply it perfectly even, and then I applied Vintage Plum Sparkly Embossing Powder and heat set it. I like that's it is just a little messy and worn looking against the super clean and graphic poinsettia. I added a few clear sequins and a simple sentiment from the Deck Your Home Perfectly Clear Stamp Set. I also inked the edges of my card base to add just a bit more pink. That's it for me today. Hello again! I've got a new shaker card to share with you today that features one of the newest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground . This beautiful combo is called Very Cranberry and it is perfect for Fall and Holiday cards (way more than that too...but that's what first came to mind when I saw it). It's got reds and browns with bits of gold. There's sequins, micro beads, mini gems, and even glitter sequins! It's a luxe mix that's just gorgeous. I used an adorable reindeer from Mama Elephant (via Hampton Art) called Reindeer Fun . There's a bunch of little reindeer in the set (comes with the dies too!) but I opted to just go for the jumping image. I colored them with my Zig Clean Color Markers. I took a piece for Neenah Desert Storm cardstock for my top layer and die cut a scalloped circle from Stampendous' Build a Wreath Die Set . This will be the shaker area. Greetings! It's time for the August 2018 Doodles Paper Playground Blog Hop! We are so excited to be sharing the newest Sparkle Blends with you in one fabulous hop! Read through to the bottom of my post for the first stop of the hop, as well as info on how to possibly win ALL of the 6 new release Sparkle Blends! For my project, I chose to work with the Be-Leaf in Yourself Sparkle Blend. This Blend has a wonderful mix of tiny leaves, striped sequins, and of course, all the glorious colors of Fall. I decided to break out an older (but still available) stamp and die from Stampendous. The oak specifically, from the Leaves Stamp and Leaves Die sets. First, I decided where I wanted to put my leaf on my brown cardstock, which was already trimmed to 4" x 5 1/4." Then I die cut it. After that, I placed the cardstock on to my card base, and then into my Stamp Platform. I fit the stamp right into the die cut area, and closed the door on my Platform. Then I removed the brown...

Hello! Today I bring to you a card that features one of the newest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground . It's called Bubblegum Ice and it is exquisite! Shades of pink, white and blue in varying forms of sparkly bits are and absolute delight to see. The name perfectly describes this color palette. And, this Blend is what inspired my chosen colors for my card. I stamped out an adorable sloth from an older  Kraftin Kimmie  set. I'm sorry, I couldn't find it on her website, so it must not be available any longer. I colored this guy with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, making sure that the flowers coordinated with the Bubblegum Ice Sparkle Blend. I made sure to use a good mix of the varying types of sequins when choosing which bits I wanted to use. A little bit of glitter, a lot of holographic, etc. I really love this blend! For my background, I used Dreamweaver Stencils' (via Stampendous ) Picasso Tool to create the clouds with Pearlescent Sky Blue ...
